Topic category: Environment/Conservation Getting out of the Paris Climate Accord and on to Stewardship of Mother Earth
We do have a wonderful framework for a global economy – not a one world government dreamed of by totalitarians. The USA Documents of Freedom and Responsibility – Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights combined with Pope Benedict XVI’s encyclical letter, "Caritas in veritate" - Charity in truth – In part: "58. The principle of subsidiarity must remain closely linked to the principle of solidarity and vice versa, since the former without the latter gives way to social privatism, while the latter without the former gives way to paternalist social assistance that is demeaning to those in need. This general rule must also be taken broadly into consideration when addressing issues concerning international development aid. Such aid, whatever the donors' intentions, can sometimes lock people into a state of dependence and even foster situations of localized oppression and exploitation in the receiving country. Economic aid, in order to be true to its purpose, must not pursue secondary objectives. It must be distributed with the involvement not only of the governments of receiving countries, but also local economic agents and the bearers of culture within civil society, including local Churches. " With these key points taken into consideration, a "new" term to define a path to a pristine globe with its use and re-use of resources - Stewardship. Stewardship well executed follows the Pope’s combining of the principles of subsidiarity and solidarity - to encourage generosity and avoid dependence. The creative and technological resources are out there. After all, the Gulf oil blowout was stopped by guiding a tool through a mile deep water, curving down and toward the blown casing, hitting it on center from over a mile away and cutting off the flow. The guidable bit was invented by a young engineer from Bakersfield, CA. George Soros grabbed the idled Gulf drilling rigs and shipped them to a similar site off Brazil. Obama gave him $1 billion of taxpayer money to carry out his scheme. In my retirement after years in the environmental business, I sell a simple technology that accomplishes a number of significant water, energy and chemical saving capabilities, plus controlling the scale that collects in pipes and on surface. An added bonus is a major increase in crop yield and mortality. To date, the only government agencies to take advantage is a city and 2 small school districts. No state or federal agency charged to environmental protection has yet to inquire further. These are the ones who desperately want a one world government to “save the planet.” Others I know in my technical and political circles have even greater technology to even neutralize oilfield and nuclear contamination that concerns so many over the use of zero carbon nuclear power. In 1975, I helped design a desalinization device based on a patent by a Skunk Works Physicist, only to have a crooked lawyer end the effort. I still have the drawings. Somehow, I have to revise any grant request to include analyzing the sex life of flying squirrels or claim it will cut global temperatures by at least 0.02 degrees C. We can begin to expect the creative side of Chaos Theory to go into action without onerous spirit killing, job security for bureaucrats, wasteful climate accords as currently crafted. We can be excellent stewards: "Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation) there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it." – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832) Gerald V. Todd Send email feedback to Gerald V.
