Understanding Flynn's guilty plea and "Lying" to the FBI

As we all know, Flynn pled guilty to the "process crime" of lying to the FBI.   The vast majority of people probably believe Flynn lied about something of major importance, probably about "colluding" with the Russians during the 2016 elections.   At least, that's how the media and the Democrats are saying it.   Oh, they don't say it directly; instead just intimating it, leading the listener to that conclusion.

As a retired cop I know something about this, so let me explain.   What most people don't understand is that there is NO law against the cops lying to you -- NONE!   But, it is very much against the law for you to lie to the cops.  

So, what is a "lie"?   It can be ANYTHING you tell the cops that is not 100% true.   Even if it is 85% true, but you leave out information that the COPS (not you) think is important or relevant, you have "lied" by legal definition.   It is why witnesses in court swear to "tell the truth, the WHOLE truth . . .".  

Let me give you an example.   Yes, it is extreme, but you will get the point.   Let's say I am asked my name (Oren O. Long, Jr.) and I answer, "Oren Long".   Technically and legally I have lied.   It is a lie of OMISSION, not COMISSION.   Or, let's say I am asked where I was on a certain date and I leave out that I was at a certain place at a certain time.   Perhaps I simply forgot or didn't think it was important -- irrelevant.   I have "lied".

The Miranda Warning says, in part, ". . . anything you say can and will be used against you. . .".   People don't understand the full ramifications of that simple phrase.   It isn't just what you SAY; it includes what you DON'T SAY, especially if the cops (again, not you) think it is important.   

This is EXACTLY what a "Process Crime" is and what Flynn pled guilty to.   As I understand it, Flynn did NOT plead guilty to lying about his or Trump's supposed involvement with the Russians in suborning the election.   He got nailed on the "Process Crime" of "lying" to the FBI, about what we will probably never know.

This is the same, exact thing that nailed Martha Stewart.   She went to prison for lying to the FBI about her involvement regarding insider trading.   Personally, I never thought she did anything wrong, but that's not the point.   The Law is the Law.  

This brings up another point, what to say to the authorities when and if you are questioned.   Answer: NOTHING!   I have told my wife, children, and others, "When and if you are arrested just say, "I want my Constitutional Rights and my attorney and I have nothing to say".   Then STFU!  

I am confident that everyone in the Administration who is targeted by Mueller and the FBI think that they can talk their way out of a jam.   They can't!   The more they flap their gums, the deeper they dig the hole.   IF they just took my advice and IF everyone would just shut up and say nothing to anyone about anything, Mueller's faux "Investigation" would soon die on the vine and the whole mess would be over.  

But, like all people in power, they truly believe they are smart.   And, when they are subpoenaed to testify, they continue to believe they are smart enough to talk their way out of it.   They really, truly need to pull a "Jimmy Hoffa" and simply say, "I don't recall", over and over and over.   Game over!

Mueller will keep digging until he finds one, little, tiny speck of something insignificant that he can use to build the proverbial "Mountain out of a Molehill".  

Trump is the obvious target and we all know it.   Unless and until Trump and his team take my advice, they may eventually fall.   It's up to them.   They need to set their arrogance aside and come to the obvious conclusion that Mueller, the Democrats, the Media, and the Left will never stop -- EVER!   This is a fight for survival, both for them and for the Country.   This is for keeps!

The good politicians have never felt brave enough to go against the Deep State like they do under Trump. They are starting to get more brazen as they gain confidence in Our Liberty movement. It takes a little time for this confidence to settle in over the swamp. I see a good improvement. The rally last night spoke to this in a big way.Our base is more enthused now than it was a year ago....Different leaders of this movement are positioning themselves. Like Trump says...Never give up, Never give in, Never back down, AND KEEP DREAMING.
