There is a frenzy of activity at WTP HQ. We apologize for the length of this update and the time lapse since our last communication! From now until the event, we will endeavor to post at least one update each week.


Continental Congress 2009: The Thanksgiving Congress

Continental Congress 2009 will take place from November 9 -24, 2009, a Thanksgiving Congress! While the outcome of this event is yet to be known, we will give daily thanks to The Creator for our Freedom and for the greatest governing documents ever given to mankind, as we take our stand for the restoration of constitutional obedience in America.

We reach out to you with open arms to join us and stand together as ONE VOICE now, remembering that the cause of America is truly the cause of the world. What we do in the days ahead is not just for us, but to hold tight and pass the Torch of Liberty to millions within and beyond our shores and for all future generations to come.

Do some reading on this. I was all for it until I realized that we do not want to do this while a bunch of socialists are running our country. It could completely destroy what is left of our Constitution. Who will stop Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Obama from taking this over?

Thanks so much for your feedback! I do understand that A CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION would be the WORST THING that could happen right now.

THE WE THE PEOPLE FOUNDATION event, CONTINENTAL CONGRESS 2009 is not a constitutional convention. In fact it is just the opposite!

You may also want to watch some of the short videos linked there in the latest update, because I know your time is precious. I beg you both, Mary Ann and Sandra, consider reading through the updates on the WTP web page. This is not an effort to re-write anything. This is an effort to hold our elected officials to abiding by our Constitutions (U.S. Constitution and each of the 50 states' Constitutions). I would never support any more trampling of our Constitution.

Mary Ann,
Thank you for your reply. First, I think I should point out that this page through which we are communicating right now, The We The People USA forum, created by Jean Kulig-Tucker, is not the same organization as the We The People Foundation and We The People Congress which are planning the Continental Congress 2009 for this November.

So, I hope you will continue to work with Jean and the other fine patriots here at We The People USA. I only state that because you said, "You may remove me as Kansas State Coordinator if you think my participation is mandatory." I want to make it clear that I do not speak for this forum's administrators, nor do I speak for the We The People Foundation or Congress. I'm just a member.

Now, even while pointing out that the named are two different organizations, I do believe in my heart of hearts that We The People USA, here, and the WTP Foundation and Congress have the SAME love and respect for our Republic nation and its Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, and all 50 states' Constitutions. I'm certain the goals are the same at both organizations.

The WTP petitions for redress of grievance have been shunned by each branch of our federal government. The first amendment right to petition has been ignored by the Supreme Court, Congress and the Executive branch; that in itself is un-Constitutional. I hope that the delegates to the CC2009 are the smartest Constitutional scholars we have in our time, and the most experienced in the ongoing struggle to reclaim our Constitutional liberties.

You asked, "What are you going to do with them? Are you going to run them for congress? Form a new political party?"
Maybe. The CC2009 delegates will probably come away with a short list of things to do immediately. One of them may very well be to join an independent party and run candidates. I don' t know. Another may be to join resources to help citizens use legal means to withhold their tax support until our representatives answer our petitions for redress of grievances. I can't speak for the CC2009 delegates - they will decide in November what their next steps are. They will meet because the liberty movements need to come together to discuss non-violent, legal, Constitutional ways to re-claim our Republic, not only on a federal level, but at a local, county and state level.

You asked, "Do you realize that it takes only 34 states to call for a Constitutional Convention? Do you realize that 33 states have already done so?"
Yes, I do realize that. That's why I'm so grateful to you, and to others like you, who are educating our friends and neighbors to stand against a Constitutional Convention; a "con-con" is something we absolutely must prevent from happening.

You asked, "Do you think that all your blustering with a continental congress might convince one more state to make a call for a Constitutional Convention?"
Well, my blustering might be helping one more person understand just how long our liberties have been tread on, one by one, over the years. These are conversations that must take place. We cannot take back our Republic at the voting booth, alone. We need vote reform, also, because our elections are not honest.

You asked, "Instead of promoting an event that has no impact upon our nation, why not begin preparations now for replacing all 435 of the U.S. House of Representatives with true conservatives? One-third of the Senate is up for re-election this year (including Harry Reid), why not focus on electing true conservatives to those Senate seats?"
I believe this event will have an impact on our nation. At the same time, yes we should support any efforts to get conservatives elected. You are exactly 100% right about that.

I didn't mean to imply, nor have I ever suggested that any patriots stop what they are already doing. There are so many things that need to be done immediately and that will help wake up our neighbors, keep it up! May God Bless all efforts that will help get our nation back from the socialist - globalist agenda.

When printed back to back and cut twice, it will result in three (3) "Slim Jim" handbills per page packing a potent message regarding the historic Continental Congress 2009 event. If you print 100 copies of this two-sided flyer you will have 300 “Slim Jims!” to hand out.

We are also poised to release a major overhaul of the GiveMeLiberty.org domain "portal page" and new media-rich CC2009 information pages. By the time you hand out this literature this weekend, we will have a greatly enhanced homepage portal containing links to all the critical We The People resources, the Continental Congress 2009 information center, the redesigned WTP Congress state & county web pages, as well as the newly public Jekyll Island Project website.

The national marketing team is in high gear preparing to raise the funds needed to ensure the success of CC2009. Soon we will publicly release national TV spots being planned to air holding the potential to generate significant national awareness.

Pheasant Run is located 28 miles west of Chicago in the community of St. Charles, Illinois.

When Mr. Obama spoke in a school in Portsmouth, NH on August 11th and at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Convention in Phoenix, AZ on August 17, there were a dozen or more ordinary citizens outside who were openly and legally carrying firearms. Two of those citizens were William Kostric from NH, and Chris Broughton from Phoenix, each of whom became instant subjects of widespread print and broadcast news reports and editorials.

Unwittingly, or otherwise, our dominant media outlets have again covered America with a blanket of propaganda that is hardening the positions of those on both sides of America’s growing Constitutional Divide.
