Many liberals passed sentence on the Citizens for Constitutional Freedom (CCF) weeks ago. The cowboys occupying the Malheur Wildlife Refuge headquarters in Oregon were criminals. Even worse, they were culturally unsympathetic criminals. “Y’all Qaeda,” was the taunt of choice for the smart set, which rocked with laughter when enterprising wags delivered sex toys to the squares.

Yet when they put joking aside, many progressives called for these “militants” to be dealt with as “the terrorists they were”: lethally and with extreme prejudice. Besides, many said, the right-wing nuts were probably a bunch of Islamophobic racists.

The law-and-order left got what they wanted on Tuesday of last week, when several CCF members were ambushed on the road by the FBI and Oregon State Police. CCF spokesman LeVoy Finicum was shot and killed, and the rest were arrested (some after also being shot). The killing was met mostly with approval or shrugs from progressives on social media.

One notable exception was Anonymous, which released a video declaring that:

“…Finicum was killed in cold blood, as his hands were in the air. Just as Anonymous called for justice in the killing of Michael Brown we call for justice now.”

Indeed, it was the police killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson that first popularized the protest slogan, “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot,” which has been chanted by many of the same liberals now justifying Finicum being shot with his empty hands in the air.

During the Ferguson unrest however, the law-and-order right would have none of it. To them, Michael Brown was just a “thug,” a known criminal who had recently shaken down a store. If he didn’t want to get shot, he shouldn’t have resisted a cop, thought many of the same conservatives now outraged over the bloody government response to CCF’s armed defiance.

Both sides reduce all questions of justice to identity politics, and effectively treat rights as a sympathy-based concept.

For the left, Michael Brown was a sympathetic figure (an underserved youth of color), so he had Fourth and Fifth Amendment rights which were violated by Officer Darren Wilson. On the other hand, LaVoy Finicum was an unsympathetic figure (a right-wing, gun-owning good ‘ol boy), and a potential threat, so he was fair game to be gunned down in the snow.

For the right, LaVoy Finicum was a sympathetic figure (a God-fearing family man), so he had Fourth and Fifth Amendment rights which were violated by the FBI. On the other hand, Michael Brown was an unsympathetic figure (a young, black “thug”), and a potential threat, so he was fair game to be gunned down in the street.

Both are blinded by their respective bigotries to the truth that rights are inherent to the individual, and are not based on group identity or cultural affinity.

Nobody should be gunned down in the road like a rabid dog, regardless of whether the individual is a pillar of his community or a hardened criminal, a philanthropic saint or an incorrigible misanthrope. Every individual has an inalienable right to life: a right not to be killed unless that individual is presenting an imminent threat to the life of someone else.

And violence is only self-defense, if such an imminent threat is real. There are no “oopsies” allowed: not for cops, for Feds, or for anybody else. Killing someone is not “self-defense” just because you “thought” a threat existed.

And it doesn’t matter how paranoid their officer training has made them. It doesn’t matter how many times they’ve practiced with “No More Hesitation” targets with pictures of children, pregnant women, and elderly folk pointing guns at them. Murder is murder.

Silence, Thank you for this article, It helps me carry forward with the message I have been tying to get across. My thread on the stand off in Burns Oregon was started  when the occupation of the refuge ( county resource center) started. The reason I started it was because I knew what type of people they were, and I thought I could help control the Spin that I felt coming about them. I figured it could be my way of helping. I learned a lot more of these people because I dedicated endless hours everyday watching every live stream ,video , news cycle from every source. as well as reading most every thing I could get on my screen. I researched about each individual I came across. I put in so many hours that even in my sleep my mind would keep turning with so much data. Frustration one feels when they can not get people to listen, needs to tempered with much prayer, in my case.These leaders of the CCF movement were men of faith as they have worn their faith on their sleeve. That was truly their resource they used to stay the mission.Watching Lavoys daughters speak, shows the power of their father teachings of that faith..I watched this video of their speech. and will watch it again, when my eyes clear of the dampness.Lavoy is an American Hero, and it is our duty as CCF members. This should be every red blooded Americans wish. I will register under the Citizens for Constitutional Freedom party. If there is not a party called that . that does not matter. I think you are still allowed to register under any thing you want. Thank you for your in put to this site. I wish you could post more.

Silence ,I have not watched it a second time yet. Once my eyes dried from watching it this morning , I have been pounding the internet. Every little tid bit of a clue of  why he got murdered. It is impossible for me to create words of what I have found.Connecting the dots is very frustrating.This event is taking on a Global situation that most will not except. I am going to drop a video here that may fit. This interview of the County Fire Chief will help people realize that it is not just about land.....

Lavoy was killed because Leviathan and the lawless tyrannical Federal BLM-Bureau of Land Management, said "on the record"... that Lavoy' who was an incredible and inspiring communicator,.. that Lavoy's message was spreading to other ranchers,... like a VIRUS!!  FBI agents referred to Lavoy,... as the "VIRUS".

Recording of a phone call by Oath Keepers to Lavoy Finicum, two days before his death, urging him and the Bundy brothers to make a “lateral, tactical move” to a constitutional sheriff’s county, to continue to spread the message of western land rights and organizing ranchers, under the protection of a strong sheriff, and warning him that all indicators pointed to the “the powers that be” being mere days away from shutting down their ability to spread their message of truth, one way or another. 

 

On Sunday, January 24, 2016 (two days before his "ASSASSINATION" under orders given by Barack Hussein Obama") Lavoy Finicum was a guest on Jason Van Tatenhove’s radio show (The Patriot Report) along with Stewart Rhodes, Founder and President of Oath Keepers. 

On the show, they discussed how Lavoy and Ammon Bundy’s message of western ranchers resistance to federal tyranny had begun to “catch fire” and was spreading to other counties and other states, with an additional eight ranchers (including in Utah and New Mexico) stepping up to declare their “emancipation” and independence from the tyrannical BLM and USFS.

As LaVoy himself noted, one day before his "ASSASSINATION" they were out in the middle of nowhere, and were focused only on rancher and miner and logger education, so why the need for rapidly escalating threat of force? 

Well, clearly the powers that be felt imminently threatened by Lavoy and Ammon's message, with the two Oregon U.S. Senators later admitting publicly that they considered the Bundy/Finicum "message" to be a “VIRUS” that was spreading, and bragging that they had spoken "DIRECTLY with Valerie Jarrett" (the “power behind the OBAMA throne” in the White House and real decision maker and handler of Obama), and the FBI Director about the "urgent need to shut that message down".

There was no physical threat to the community, and no real emergency, with Ammon and crew having traveled peaceably back and forth to multiple public events and meetings.  But clearly there was a "POLITICAL emergency" and the regime felt threatened by their ideals. 

And the LGTB Oregon Governor also stamped her feet and demanded "immediate action to stop them" (and remember, she commands the Oregon State Police).  

LaVoy’s cold blooded execution is on their hands, for that is the reason for the “felony stop” and deadly barricade used to shut down that soft spoken “VIRUS of Truth".
