The National Doctors Tea Party Event in San Diego

A Journal:

I was truly privileged to be invited to not only attend the National Doctors Teaparty, but also to say a few words and perform songs our family produced about liberty, freedom, family, and faith. I, of course, met many wonderful people there, both physicians and non-physicians, who understood that no one can sit idly by while the forces of socialism and despotism attempt to steal away our nation as it was founded. I was additionally blessed that my daughter Candice was also one of the speakers at the event; powerfully giving her perspectives on family and freedom and faith, as well!

I have invited her to post her remarks as a BLOG on our site here, and I know you will be blessed and inspired by those words. As an added treat and blessing, my son, Jonathan, came down with my grandson, Caleb, and together they encouraged, helped, assisted and prayed for us at the event -- it was so wonderful to have them there! And just as important were the prayers of so many family members and friends who were not able to be there, but who also support the cause of liberty and the Teaparty movement and philosophy.

After author Sally Pipes (“The Truth About Obamacare”) had finished her talk and I was introduced, it was my turn to address the crowd, and I began…

“Welcome fellow Physicians and friends—welcome to everyone who values constitutional liberty–the values and principles this nation was founded on, principles that allowed this nation to be the most free, prosperous, and good nation in human history! This November we must and we can begin the repeal of this monster known as ObamaCare!”

“As doctors, we are on the front lines of this battle for liberty. The big government statists have known for a long time if they can claim to control healthcare, they can claim to control EVERYTHING in our lives!”

“The only thing that will stop these radicals currently in power is if everyone of us who care about liberty and a properly limited constitutional government will do OUR part—we must vote for and elect only candidates who are committed to upholding Constitutional liberty, freedom, free markets, and the rule of law! An all-out effort and I believe, much prayer, will turn the tide against this totalitarianism represented by ObamaCare—and put us back on the road to liberty, the road to greatness!”

“I ran for Congress twice in the late 90s, and one of the great things that came out of that experience was the theme song my family and I wrote for my campaigns called Freedom, Family and Faith. Last year when we saw what was happening with ObamaCare, we knew it was time to update and re-release that song with the themes we care so much about–‘Freedom, Family, and Faith.’”

“Thanks for the privilege of being here with you today. As a final thought, let me say that, folks, we are in a ‘war’, a battle for the heart and soul of this nation. I believe this fight is, at its deepest level, a spiritual battle. This final song is meant to encourage us, in these dark and desperate times, that we are not alone in this fight--that Truth will ultimately triumph—That HIS TRUTH—IS marching on!”
