Citizens Dedicated To Preserving Our Constitutional Republic
Source; The Blaze.
The latest iteration by that Rabid Anti-Gun anti-Constitutionalist Michael Bloomberg has struck again complete with his lies and spin on School shootings by pretending they were on the order of Columbine or Sandy Hook in scope. A check of the facts shows a different story altogether. Bloomberg has set up a new attack on Constitutional Freedoms by instituting a new Anti-Gun Group. It is called 'Everytown' and includes major gun control advocate Shannon Watts.
The group has released what they call pertinent data on School Shootings ( http://everytown.org/article/schoolshootings/ ) and claim there have been 1.37 shootings every week since the Sandy Hook Shootings in 2012 The total they come up with is listed at 74 School Shootings. However since the list was posted, some of the shootings have come under scrutiny because thewy occurred off campus and in one instance it was self defense.
Journalist Charles C. Johnson decided to dig into the posted data and posted his findings on twitter. He also criticized Everytown for including Gand related violence and violent disputes under the 'School Shooting' banner. Johnson said;" It's not a school shooting when someone goes after a specific person on campus. It's a shooting that happens to take place at school."
The catch phrases that evgerytown put out were basically along the typical gun grabber rhetoric like " Since the December 2012 shooting in Newtown CT, there have been at least 74 school shootings in America. How many more before our leaders pass common-sense laws to prevent gun violence and save lives?"
Let me just say there is no law that will ever PREVENT any kind of violence, all the laws can do is to see to the punishment of offenders.
Or something like this; " Communities all over the country live in fear of gun violence. That's unacceptable. We should feel secure in sending our children to school_comforted by the knowledge that they're safe."
Let me again say something. How in hell do they think removing guns from law abiding citizens and making school and other places gun free zones (shooting galleries for the criminally bent and mentally unbalanced)and taking away any real means of self defense will make it safer and more secure? Are they that stupid? Let's ask them to take away the guns of their body guards and see just how safe they are then.
Here is a list that Everytown put out as the same types of school shootings as Newtown and Columbine.

Everytown decided to use this criteria; The incidenst were classified School Shootings if a firearm was discharged in a school building or on campus grounds for any reason. The data was gleaned from News reports as they were reported to the public.They supposedly left off the incidents when guns were brought to school and not fired or if they were fired off campus.
As was said before, Charles Johnson did a study of the list and found these listings to be different than was reported by Bloomberg's group.
Here is what Charles found and tweeted about;

A short primer on AR et.al. firearms bans under the Federal Firearms Act, and how they should be contested.

(1st Cir. 1942), cert. denied, 319 U.S. 770 (1943), the court, upholding a similar provision of the Federal Firearms Act, said: ``Apparently, then, under the Second Amendment, the federal government can limit the keeping and bearing of arms by a single individual as well as by a group of individuals, but it cannot prohibit the possession or use of any weapon which has any reasonable relationship to the preservation or efficiency of a well-regulated militia.'' See Lewis v. United States, 445 U.S. 55, 65 n.8 (1980) (dictum: Miller holds that the ``Second Amendment guarantees no right to keep and bear a firearm that does not have `some reasonable relationship to the preservation or efficiency of

In United States v. Miller,\4\ the Court sustained a statute requiring registration under the National Firearms Act of sawed-off [[Page 1194]] shotguns. After reciting the original provisions of the Constitution dealing with the militia, the Court observed that ``[w]ith obvious purpose to assure the continuation and render possible the effectiveness of such forces the declaration and guarantee of the Second Amendment were made. It must be interpreted with that end in view.''\5\ The significance of the militia, the Court continued, was that it was composed of ``civilians primarily, soldiers on occasion.'' It was upon this force that the States could rely for defense and securing of the laws, on a force that ``comprised all males physically capable of acting in concert for the common defense,'' who, ``when called for service . . . were expected to appear bearing arms supplied by themselves and of the kind in common use at the time.''\6\ Therefore, ``[i]n the absence of any evidence tending to show that possession or use of a `shotgun having a barrel of less than 18 inches in length' at this time has some reasonable relationship to the preservation or efficiency of a well- regulated militia, we cannot say that the Second Amendment guarantees the right to keep and bear such an instrument. Certainly it is not within judicial notice that this weapon is any part of the ordinary military equipment or that its use could contribute to the common defense.''\7\ \4\307 U.S. 174 (1939). The defendants had been released on the basis of the trial court determination that prosecution would violate the Second Amendment and no briefs or other appearances were filed on their behalf; the Court acted on the basis of the Government's representations. \5\Id. at 178. \6\Id. at 179. \7\Id. at 178. Sec. Sec. 921-928. The Supreme Court's dealings with these laws have all arisen in the context of prosecutions of persons purchasing or obtaining firearms in violation of a provisions against such conduct by convicted felons. Bass, 404 U.S. 336 (1971). \9\E.g., National Commission on Reform of Federal Criminal Laws, Working Papers 1031-1058 (1970), and Final Report 246-247 (1971).

Should be cited to counteract any and all claims by the Government that the extended clips and AR style among all other types of military lookalikes can therefore not be banned because they in fact can be used with the reasonable preservation or efficiency of a well regulated Militia. Since the wording specifies that "the Second Amendment guarantees no right to keep and bear a firearm that does NOT have 'some reasonable relationship to the preservation or efficiency of a well regulated militia" the claims of the politicians lack credibility in their arguments to ban such weapons
