The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 47% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Obama's job performance. Fifty-two percent (52%) disapprove (see trends).

The latest figures include 26% who Strongly Approve of the way Obama is performing as president and 42% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -16. 

Regular updates are posted Monday through Friday at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update).

Republicans feel pretty good about John Boehner’s decision to resign as speaker of the House of Representatives.

Are GOP voters ready for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to ...   Interestingly, Democrats are more opposed to the departure of Boehner and McConnell than Republicans are.

Speaking of Democrats, Rasmussen Reports has tested the waters again for a Joe Biden candidacy, and we’ll tell you at 10:30 a.m. Eastern today whether Democrats really expect the Vice President to join their party’s presidential race.

As for the presidential contest on the GOP side, the future is now for Donald Trump and Jeb Bush.
