A new report by the Center for Immigration Studies found there is a record 42.1 million Americans in the United States today.

Democrats need the new voters–

The Washington Examiner reported:

A new analysis of legal and illegal immigrant counts by the Census Bureau revealed Thursday that there is a record 42.1 million in the United States, an explosion that is being driven by Mexicans flooding across the border.

In a report provided to Secrets by the Center for Immigration Studies, the total immigrant population surged 1.7 million since 2014. The growth was led in the last year by an additional 740,000 Mexican immigrants.

The 42.1 million tabulated by Census in the second quarter represent over 13 percent of the U.S. population, the biggest percentage in 105 years.

What’s more, the numbers of immigrants coming and going from the U.S. is actually higher since many return home every years, said the report. “For the immigrant population to increase by one million means that significantly more than one million new immigrants must enter the country because some immigrants already here return to their homeland each year and natural mortality totals 250,000 annually,” said the Center.

Then there’s this– 80% of California illegal immigrant families live in poverty and need government assistance.

Unassimilated Immigration: Dystopia Now
Watching the latest wave of refugees fleeing to Europe (and soon the U.S.) from the Middle East and parts of Africa, I am reminded of Jean Raspail’s 1973 apocalyptic novel, The Camp of the Saints. (Others have had the same recollection.) The novel was translated into English in 1975. It was reissued in the U.S. in 1994 -- and is still in print -- and returned to the bestseller list in 2011. (After events this summer, it may do so again.)

Although the novel’s specifics differ from events in 2015, Raspail’s main thesis -- Europe and the U.S. are inundated by inassimilable illegal immigrants -- is being hauntingly reprised by contemporary developments. Most of Raspail’s novel dealt with illegal aliens’ occupation of the French Riviera. It begins, however, when Belgium offers to take in East Indian infants. Subsequently, one of the British Queen’s sons is forced to marry a Pakistani woman, and New York City’s mayor must share Gracie Mansion with people from Harlem. At the novel’s end, Switzerland -- the lone European holdout against inundation by inassimilable aliens -- is shamed into acquiescing.

How illegal immigrants help swing presidential elections to Democrats without even voting

Thanks to the Constitution’s provision that House seats are apportioned to states based on the “whole number of persons in each state,” Electoral College membership (based on one elector per senator and one per representative) is skewed toward states that host a large number of illegal immigrants. And on balance, states with large numbers of illegals tend to vote Democrat in presidential elections, thus inflating the Electoral College totals for Democrats, and in a close race, making the difference.

They may not be able to vote (legally; in practice with no voter ID requirement, maybe), but illegals can determine the outcome.

Paul Goodman and Mark J. Rozell do the math in Politico Magazine:

Using citizen-only population statistics, American University scholar Leonard Steinhorn projects California would lose five House seats and therefore five electoral votes. New York and Washington would lose one seat, and thus one electoral vote apiece. These three states, which have voted overwhelming for Democrats over the latest six presidential elections, would lose seven electoral votes altogether. The GOP’s path to victory, by contrast, depends on states that would lose a mere three electoral votes in total. Republican stronghold Texas would lose two House seats and therefore two electoral votes. Florida, which Republicans must win to reclaim the presidency, loses one seat and thus one electoral vote.

Even more important is here those electoral votes would go if illegals were not counted:

The following ten states, the bulk of which lean Republican, would likely gain one House seat and thus one additional electoral vote: Iowa, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania. (snip)

…for analytic purposes, three of the states that would gain electoral votes are Democratic. The remaining seven are fairly put in the GOP column. Combining the two halves of the citizen-only population reapportionment, states likely in the Democratic column suffer a net loss of four electoral votes. Conversely the must-win Republican leaning states total a net gain of four electoral votes. These are the four electoral votes statistically cast by noncitizens.

Margins this small have made the difference in presidential elections:

One electoral vote decided the 1876 presidential election. A swing of three electoral votes in 2000 would have elected Al Gore.

Short of amending the Constitution, there is nothing that can be done to alter this. However, it is a factor to keep in mind in evaluating the attitudes of politicians toward open borders.

Sanders advocating Obamacare for illegal aliens

Senator Bernie Sanders told the Hispanic Caucus that he would support allowing illegal aliens to purchase insurance on the Obamacare exchanges, but deny the illegals federal subsidies His advocacy comes on the heels of a proposal by Rep. Luis Gutierrez earlier in the week that would open the entire Affordable Care Act to all illegal aliens, including subsidies.

Washington Post:

The Vermont senator, who is running a competitive race against Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton, made the comments during a 45-minute meeting with members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, according to attendees. The 26-member group is comprised entirely of House and Senate Democrats.

Aides later said that Sanders believes that in certain cases, undocumented immigrants should be able to purchase health insurance through the exchanges set up under Obamacare, using their own money. The senator has not advocated allowing the undocumented immigrants to receive federal subsidies, his aides said.

The meeting, held in the Longworth House Office Building, was Sanders's first formal meeting with his Latino colleagues to talk about his presidential campaign, and the exchange came the same morning that his campaign announced raising $26 million during the third quarter, nearly beating Clinton's fundraising haul.

Clinton enjoys a wide lead among Hispanic Democrats and on Thursdayannounced the formation of "Latinos for Hillary," which will focus on building Latino support for her campaign.

Sanders's support for expanding the Affordable Care Act could put Clinton in a tough spot.

Federal law bars undocumented immigrants from enrolling in health-care exchanges. But on Wednesday, Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.), a vocal immigration reform supporter, and other Democrats introduced a bill that would extend Affordable Care Act coverage to undocumented immigrants.

Gutierrez said Wednesday that expanding the law would create younger and healthier patient pools, likely leading to lower insurance costs for Americans already enrolled in insurance exchanges.

Sanders endorsed the concept during the meeting in response to a question from one of the caucus members, attendees said.

If the past is any guide, those illegals who would sign up for Obamacare would not be "younger and healthier.' They would be older and sicker thus further tilting the pool of covered persons even further toward insolvency. 

But the real kick in the teeth would be millions more people flooding the expanded Medicaid program, which is already overburdened with millions of new clients. The already dysfunctional program would cost states billions more in health care costs, despite the federal government paying 90% of the costs of the new enrollees.

If Sanders and the Democrats want to hasten the demise of Obamacare, there would be no better way than to open up the program to illegal aliens.
