The Dutch Tulip Bubble of 1637
The later part of the 20th century saw its share of odd financial bubbles. There was the real-estate bubble, the stock market bubbles, and the dot com bubble, just to name a few. In each instance of price inflation people paid exorbitant amounts for things that shouldn’t have been worth anything like the going price. And each time people stood around afterwards and said “What were we thinking?”

One has to believe that the same thought occurred to the Dutch in the 17th century when they settled down after their bout with tulipomania, wherein the humble tulip bulb began to sell for prices to make New York Realtors blanch.

As much as the tulip is associated with Holland, it is not native there. Rather it was introduced in 1593 by a botanist named Carolus Clusius, who brought it from Constantinople. He planted a small garden, intending to research the plant for medicinal purposes. Had Clusius’s neighbors been morally upright, the tulip might still be a rare exotic in the gardening world. Instead they broke into his garden and stole some of his bulbs in order to make some quick money, and in the process started the Dutch bulb trade

Elizabeth Warren, the real estate profiteer as she chides trump for buying low!
The home’s new owner: Elizabeth Warren, today a Massachusetts senator who has built a political career on denouncing the sort of banking titans and financial sophisticates who make a buck off the little guy. Five months after purchasing Veo Vessels’ old home, Warren flipped the property, selling it for $115,000 more than she’d paid, according to Oklahoma County Property Assessor records.

Plundering America: Cuban criminal operations are organized and spreading
Joel Bauta Lopez earned $7 a month as a bus dispatcher in Cuba. Within a few years of his arrival in the United States, he was driving a Hummer, living in his own condo and vacationing at Caribbean resorts.

Bauta made his riches bilking American insurance companies.

"I had just been here for two years. I needed the money," Bauta, 42, told the Sun Sentinel. "In Cuba, we live in a system where if you don't invent, if you don't rob, you don't eat."

Bauta was part of a Cuban crime wave that's aided by U.S. policy and proliferating. He came to the U.S. without an entry visa, got to stay because of his special status as a Cuban, was arrested twice for fraud, and spent less than two months in jail.

America's open-door policy, intended to give refuge to those fleeing the Castro government, has allowed a thriving underground criminal network to take root and expand its reach from South Florida across the nation, the Sun Sentinel found in the first broad look at organized Cuban crime ...

Many return to Cuba for visits, flaunting their new wealth and enticing family and friends to join them. Others are brought here specifically to tend marijuana plants or set up fraudulent medical clinics, then go back. Some participate to pay their debts to the smugglers who brought them here ...

With the spate of social justice insanity on college campuses recently, some liberals have taken to writing shame-faced confessionals about the bias in the media and academy. Even President Obama has expressed mild dismay at the stifling of free speech and straight jacket of political correctness.

Some college administrators and professors have reaped the wrath of seeds of social discontent they’ve sown. Now, it’s a race to see who can be most righteous.

You’re a horrible bigot if you disagree with a black president. You’re a horrible bigot if you disagree with a woman presidential candidate. You’re a horrible bigot if you wear an “Indian” costume–especially a slutty one. You’re a horrible bigot if you believe that marriage is between a man and woman. You’re a horrible bigot if you’re a parent who’d like her daughter to not have to get naked in the locker room in front of a boy. You’re a horrible bigot if you think people should buy their own health insurance and cell phones.

You get the picture. It’s firmly established that you’re a Bad Person. The culture is infected with structural bias. Indoctrinated children recoil and gasp at their small-minded parents, teachers, bosses, and audience. That’s insensitive! That’s inappropriate! I feel uncomfortable!

Why in the world would a Facebook curator dare be insensitive, inappropriate or make someone uncomfortable with a “bad” news story? No, she’ll choose the Kardashians and elevate the Very Good Planned Parenthood and every other vapid story, but she won’t do this:  She won’t choose a conservative Trending Topic and no one had to tell her not to.

Bull, If all these things you say , make me a bigot. Then all I can say is I must be a very good bigot, because I am guilty of all the things you said. But let me add that I am a proud bigot.......Hey if something is worth being then I say be good at what you do....BYE BYE POLITICAL CORRECTNESS.

I am right there with you Kevin I hope you the read the article in its entirety.

Trump pushes Beck over the eadge?
SiriusXM hosts Stephen K. Bannon and David Webb announced on Breitbart News Daily that SiriusXM has suspended Glenn Beck and Webb will temporarily take over Beck’s 9AM to noon Eastern time slot on SiriusXM’s Patriot Channel 125.
SiriusXM encourages a diversity of discourse and opinion on our talk programs. However, comments recently made by a guest on the independently produced Glenn Beck Program, in our judgement, may be reasonably construed by some to have been advocating harm against an individual currently running for office, which we cannot and will not condone. For that reason, we have suspended The Glenn Beck Program from our Patriot channel for the coming week and are evaluating its place in our lineup going forward. SiriusXM is committed to a spirited, robust, yet responsible political conversation and believes this action reflects those values.

Hillaryland
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hillaryland was the self-designated name of a group of core advisors to Hillary Clinton, when she was First Lady of the United States and again when, as United States Senator, she was one of the Democratic Party candidates for President in the 2008 U.S. election.

The group included Huma Abedin, Patti Solis Doyle (credited with coining the name "Hillaryland"),[1] Mandy Grunwald, Neel Lattimore, Ann Lewis, Evelyn Lieberman, Tamera Luzzatto, Capricia Marshall, Cheryl Mills, Minyon Moore, Lissa Muscatine, Neera Tanden, Melanne Verveer, and Maggie Williams.[2]

The group was distinguished by two facts: First, almost all are women; the only man in the group, former First Lady deputy press secretary Neel Lattimore, is gay.[3] Second, most worked in the Clinton Administration, and have been personal friends and confidants of Hillary Clinton since at least then, if not earlier. Indeed, the name Hillaryland dates back to the Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign, when it was the portion of his Little Rock, Arkansas "war room" that housed Hillary Clinton's staff.[4] Later it became better known as the moniker for the area of the West Wing of the White House in which the First Lady's staff had their offices; according to Clinton, Hillaryland had its own subculture, based on camaraderie, never leaking information to the press, and having plenty of toys and cookies around for the children of staffers - as Hillary put it, "While the West Wing had a tendency to leak... Hillaryland never did, and every child who ever visited knew exactly where we stashed the cookies."[4] Clinton biographers Jeff Gerth and Don Van Natta, Jr. described Hillaryland as "an important subculture during the Clinton presidency."[5]

The advisers were also present during Clinton's tenure as U.S. Senator.[5] But the role of Hillaryland came under considerable discussion during and after Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign that she conducted while senator.[6][7] Michelle Cottle of New York magazine described its role as "less a campaign entity than an extended sisterhood defined by its devotion to its namesake. Even so, the group's protective ethos dominates her presidential campaign, where loyalty is demanded, self-promotion frowned upon, and talking out of school, especially to the press, [is strongly discouraged]."[6] As campaign chroniclers John Heilemann and Mark Halperin later wrote, "the people comprising it ... were loyal to a fault, smart and ruthless, hard-headed and hardboiled. ... They referred to themselves collectively as Hillaryland, and everyone else in politics did too."[8] By this point the definition of Hillaryland was often expanded a bit to include campaign insiders such as chief strategist Mark Penn.[8]

After she ended up losing the Democratic nomination, critics often focused on the limited and isolated circle of advisers and dysfunctional management style as one of the reasons behind the campaign's failure.[7][9] One criticism was that she valued personal loyalty over the ability to do the job.[7]

At the beginning of Clinton's tenure as U.S. Secretary of State following the election, she brought over some of the Hillaryland personnel to staff the State Department, but she also hired other people as well.[7]

DOE Loan Director Who Helped Katie McGinty’s Energy Company Hosts McGinty Fundraiser
A former Department of Energy official who directed millions of dollars in grants to NRG Energy while Democratic Senate hopeful Katie McGinty sat on the company’s board held a fundraiser for her campaign on Thursday night.

Jonathan Silver, who was executive director of the Energy Department’s loan programs office tasked with directing billions of dollars to alternative energy companies, was listed as the host for the Thursday night fundraiser in Washington, D.C. to support McGinty’s Pennsylvania campaign.

Silver was “responsible for the agency’s strategic direction” and oversaw “all of its transactions,” according to the department website. He held the position from November 2009 to October 2011 and became best known for the $535 million that was directed toward failed solar energy company Solyndra.

McGinty’s NRG Energy also received money from the department during Silver’s tenure. The company was awarded two Energy Department loans worth over $331 million in fiscal 2010 alone. Most of the money was used to extend a “clean coal power initiative,” but $2 million was also awarded for renewable energy research and development.

The old war on drugs is over. Oboma has declared drug addiction a mental disorder and treatable under oboma care.
How many times have you heard of someone being the victim of a mugging or home break-in committed by a drug addict? Let’s face it; addicts commit a huge number of crimes against innocent people as they seek to find ways to pay for their habits. Sadly, some of these crimes lead to the physical injury and even death of the addict’s victim(s).

However, President Obama and his Department of Injustice (DOiJ) headed by the top crook, err, I mean cop, believe that supposed non-violent drug offenders should be set free because they were unfairly sentenced under older guidelines, prisons are getting over-crowded and they aren’t a threat to anyone.
Meet Michael Botticelli: Obama’s Openly Gay Drug Czar
For gay and bisexual men the statistics are even more discouraging. According to the book "Unequal Opportunity: Health Disparities Affecting Gay and Bisexual" men who have sex with men are 3.5 times more likely to use marijuana than others; those men are 12.2 times more likely to use amphetamines than others; and they are also 9.5 times more likely to use heroin.

To better understand addiction in the LGBT community Botticelli routinely sets up roundtables with LGBT leaders around the country.

"A lot of times when I travel I will do community roundtables with LGBT leaders...in terms of talking about how do we make sure that that we as a community are addressing the issues," he said. "...usually I do a lot of listening sessions with LGBT youth to talk about the issues that they see and face. So I really try to do a tremendous amount of outreach to national, state and community level folks in terms of raising the issues around LGBT substance abuse while also looking at community based solutions."

And what are those issues? Well for the most part, Botticelli said, it comes back to affordable and "competent" healthcare.

When it comes to healthcare for the LGBT community "culturally competent care" is a phrase that Botticelli is fond of saying and repeating. In order for the gay community to receive effective healthcare, and substance abuse treatment, providers must understand the community and be "culturally competent" in LGBT issues.

With Obama's Affordable Care Act healthcare has become a major priority for his administration and it appears it has even found its way into the administration's drug strategy by emphasizing that addiction is a disease that needs to be treated in the healthcare system rather than a crime that needs to be punished in the criminal justice system.
