Post received from Jerry Todd;
Once and for all, see and treat things for what they are, "colonization", and not for what things are not, "immigration".
As ironic as it is, Mexicans love their country. Since, at minimum 1981, the MxGovernment has been instructing and even coercing its nationals to migrate, stay in and, indeed, "colonize" the USA (and Canada) whether they like it or not.
In 1996 my ESL Class voted 68 to 0 to be instructed the ESL needed to live and prosper in even a Mexican vacation destination catering to English-speakers, Cancun, instead of the MxGov-mandated course "Sigame (Follow Me [to the US]) which, aside from the ESL needed to apply for free US hospitalization and enroll in free US schools, instructed also how to remit "cash US Dollars captured" to the MxGov's Central Bank for that government's keeping of the dollars (representing 'unearned' income to that government) for its dole-outs of Pesos in Mexico.
It also instructed its own nationals to obtain US Citizenship and, thus, Voting Rights (to be ruthlessly controlled by the MxGov) and, once obtained, be "vigilant" of the advisories of the President of Mx's "CCIME (Council of Counelors for Mexicans Abroad)" for its published list of long invented, but purportedly independent, Mexican and Hispanic Associations, Organizations, Chambers, Institutes, (vigilante) Clubs (ex: the MxGov's Clubs Orinales), etc. in the US and, if already existing, its co-opted Associations, US Civil Rights and Legal Groups, etc, in the US, on just who and what to vote for in US Elections and Refendums.
The instruction then of the ESL needed to live and prosper in Mx lasted about a week ---until plain-clothes Policias Judiciales (the MxGov's most elite goons) appeared in the classroom while a "patrullia" (a pick-up truck with MxGov's so-called police armed with repeater shotguns and an Uzi) appeared just outside the clasroom's wall-to-wall picture window. With those guns in my face I was subsequently paraded down Cancun's intown, main avenue in the back of that pick-up truck and jailed where I was beaten bloody for three days and three nights. And the students? Just as the MxGov's instruction, coerced to the States.
Is it not high-time to see and term things for what they are and not for what they are not? No matter how sly but thin the deliberate disguise? Treat and deal 'legally' with reality? The MxGov's (and, since, at minimum, the signing of NAFTA, its allied Latino Gov's) Business(es) in the Export of Human Labor for Its (their) profit and the very "Colonization" ---not "Immigration"--- of the USA? The USA will be doomed if we do not; and now.
BTW, after being released from jail, I did walk down the same avenue upon which the "patrullia" had paraded me and there, by ordinary Mexicans, was cheered.
How unfortunate it is that, like the need for a Wall, the migrated have been reduced to, as does their government ----and with their government---- blame and protest Americans for their plight and not, with Americans, blame and protest the Mexican Government which created and, most essentially, sustains it!
