In 2018, Stop the Liars and the Lies the Lying Liars Lie

Let's resolve this year to be done with the liars in Washington and stop defending the lies they spread like warm peanut butter on hot toast.  Lies like, well, anything that falls out of Sarah Sanders word-hole.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders is a liar by proxy for any number of White House liars, who spends her days repeating their lies or, sometimes in fits of fantasy, makes up her own lies, none of which bear any resemblance to the reality that the rest of us are living in.  The deficit is bad, needs to be reduced, the Dems must stop increasing the deficit,... ...wait.... yes, this tax bill will.....no, it will not increase the deficit by 18 trillion dollars over the average liar's lifetime as the Fake News is reporting.....

 .

She is in fact, a Liar by profession.  She gets paychecks to lie, in public, on camera, to people whose job it is to repeat her lies to us, the general public, and when she stops lying, she will be fired.   You know it, I know it, she knows it, the White House knows it.

.

Not a word of what she parrots to us is ever, ever true. If she says the president said this or that, it is not true.  She talks to the president something like never and has no clue regarding his thoughts on any topic, and is certainly lying when she is telling us that Trump meant "this" when we all heard him say "THAT!"

T,

Lets take this in order;
The first line of the first article; "Some of the biggest names in traditional retail have closed more than 5,000 stores this year amid slumping sales and increased competition from online sellers like Amazon" . validates my point about why stores are closing their outlets that are costing more to keep open than the profits they make, but are not going out of business except for mergers like the sears/K-Mart merger or buy out if you want. Sales operations started moving from Brickmodels to on-line models vigorously about 7 years ago, so you can't blame that on Trump. Hudsons ( One of the big names in retail famous around the USA for it's Thanksgiving day Parade ) supposedly went bankrupt but reopened as Target, S.S.Kresge was a 5 & 10 cent store that closed it's doors and reopened as K-Mart. My bottom line is, These stores are trying a new business model for profit and just closing locations that they think drain their expected profits.
>
The second article also validates my original observation;  "the original idea is obsolete. As smartphone penetration and internet use has increased, the importance of retail stores has declined. That's not all. The biggest reason why stores are closing now is that what consumers want has changed. " Shifting consumer culture and desires change, it can't be blamed on Trump. In fact he's more in tune with consumer wants than the hidebound Politicians in Congress.

The third article continues the same thread; I can remember the time before the shopping malls were existent, you either went to your downtown area to shop the Big Department stores, shopped the neighborhood stores, or used the Sears/Macy's/Gimbels catalogues etc.

The remaining articles you cite continue along the same lines. Consumers are dominated by the Millennial generations tastes and shopping habits. That can't be blamed on Trump either since it's been a continuing evolution for the last 60 years. So why would they cite Trump as the cause and what makes you think the absence of his name in these articles condemns him as the cause?

As far as the military Industrial complex goes, the War Machine was only a small part of it. It was after WWII that the MIC grew through Cost-Plus government contracts going to only certain companies eventually making them mega companies. We saw the first effects of the end of those contracts with the downsizing in the late 70's and 80's recessions. I remember the government buying literally thousands of cars and trucks and scrapping them to recycle into even more cars and trucks. That happened before Trump even thought about being President, and the harshest times were through Democratic administrations.

So you still have not made your point about Trump except through emotionalism and innuendo rhetoric the Democrats are so fond of promoting.

M, my point was solely focused on Trump.

Repeating, the wise Sun -Tzu told us that leaders must "know their enemy."

I accept that the msm, being the soul of the left, is his mortal enemy.

Yet Trump remains oblivious by continually engaging them.

As a result they have zero fear of him as their contempt metastasize hourly.

I assert this condition cannot endure.

Ms. Foulk, I'm sure you are a lovely person; and if we were neighbors we would be good friends.  However, I don't believe any of my neighbors, who are just like me, are equipped to be the President of the United States of America.  I don't know if this will help, but the Social Security Retirement and Disability Benefit Plan is not a Ponzi scheme.

Social Security has, with few exceptions, always collected more money than it needed to pay its current obligations.  That extra money went into the General Fund, and SSA was given non-negotiable Treasury Bonds.  Presently, the SSA holds almost $3 Trillion ($3,000,000,000,000.00) in government bonds, enough to cover its obligations through 2030.  So, when the republicans say "entitlements" are bankrupting the country, the are lying.  THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH SOCIAL  SECURITY !!

The problem is, Congress has spent that money.  Now, listening to various members of Congress, you'll hear republicans say there is no money to pay these lazy people that want a handout and they are going to bankrupt America.  The Democrats say that Americans (and their employers) have paid in their entire lives and are entitled to a return, and America needs to keep its promise of a return.  That makes Democrats socialists, I guess.

You can look that up on the internet, if you want.

Nothing wrong with Social Security - you said exactly what I referred to - it's a Ponzi scheme because Congress has written IOUs against it for years and years. So they need to return that money, right? Yeah, that will happen. So if  President Trump continues to increase the economy, if more people are able to get jobs, if the big companies start bringing back the money they store overseas, and if Clintons and others stop hiding their money in the Cayman Islands and other places - guess what. They will be paying taxes here instead of overseas. Of course that is a vision. You know what? I used to be a Democrat - but for many years decided enough is enough. Now I like neither party.

T,

If you read the original Social Security Law you would see it forbade ANY comingling of funds with the General Fund. in the latter part of the Eisenhower Administration the Democrat Controlled Congress decided to Take the incoming funds and put them in the General fund going against their own law, and replacing the funds with Government IOU's. At that time, the assets of the SS fund was expected to last until 2050 with what was on hand. The problem of funding was later exacerbated by LBJ deciding to confiscate all the funds and replace them with Govt. IOU's to fund his Failed Great Society, Medicare, and the welfare boondoggle. That money was not the Governments to do that with, it was the peoples who had it forcibly taken from their wages. The Government is still collecting the money and shifting it to something it was not intended to b e used for. That is the Classic definition of a Ponzi Scheme. Granted SS is being used as a political hammer on the retirees for their votes just like welfare is being used as a hammer on it's recipients. Barry Goldwater when he ran for President set out all the foibles of SS and he was dedicated to ending it and returning the money to the people the government took it from but continuing payment to those who were on it until their deaths.

Thanks M. Living day to day taking care of family and working with the Kids Ranch tutoring I do not have the wherewithal and time to investigate everything.  Having your forum and those willing to state facts and present references really is a great help.

To change the dialog a bit here. (my computer failed me (pushed a typo somehow and lost the fonts - no letters would type in.)  Anyway, this is what I wanted to express. Years ago, I was a Democrat, and voted for SenatorTammy Baldwin - the first time she ran. Met her at Oscar Mayer where I was working in Customer Service.  Voted for her twice and encouraged my husband and grown children to also vote for her. My big mistake - she lied to us.

When the military needed gas masks and safe clothing during the Desert Storm war, She voted against providing clothing and masks to protect our soldiers, one of which was our son-in-law who was a Military Police responsible for monitoring the toxic dumps of Iraq.  After he came home, he married our daughter, and we benefitted with 2 grandchildren.  He became very sick, cancer - and according to the 40 some page booklet my daughter received, we discovered why. He went through surgery, but then his lungs and heart became diseased. And when his oldest son reached 10 years old, we lost Chris.  According to the booklet my daughter received, he could have been protected if Congress had passed the bill requiring safety clothing and gas masks.

A few years later, Sauk City created a Military memorial with a tank and a fighter plane. There was a special ceremony for the presentation, Dem. Senator Feingold and Dem. Senator Baldwin were scheduled to speak.  I had both my grandchildren with me as they wanted to remember their father and his service. So we listened to Feingold talk about some of the military programs and how wonderful the soldiers were to serve. Then he talked about what he's done for us. Guess most didn't believe him, because he soon lost to Senator Ron Johnson. Then we started to hear what Senator Baldwin had to say, she talked about how the military liked her programming, and how she did so much for them, but not one word about how wonderful the men and women were who actually gave their time and their lives to serve America.  My grandson heard enough and was starting to cry, so I stood up, yelled at Baldwin and told her just what she had done to my grandchildren's father - killed him because she did not vote for the needed equipment to protect them form the toxic waste that he and others personally encountered.  At that, we left the grounds.  Unfortunately, she wasn't in my district at that time, but Feingold was. He's gone. Now we will have a chance to get rid of her, here's hoping.

So that is why I'll never trust the Democrats, and find it very hard to support the GOP; I do support individuals, like Ron Johnson.

There was a report of a member not being able to post on this thread. This is a test to see if the problem has rectified itself.

M

Hopefully, there is no loss of posts on this. Seems it's getting better with your discourse.

It seems to be working now.  All comments have the option to "REPLY".

WOW!  What a weekend, eh, boys and girls?  That book was better that the Bomb Typhoon!  Right out of the chute, Trump and his mouthpiece, Sarah Huckabee-Sanders (SHS) were stating it was all phony, all fantasy, and Wolff never had any access to the WH.  Except the WH Visitors Log documented he was there on 17 days.  So, that's a lie.

Then Bannon apologized for what he said and his quotes in the book were aimed at someone else.  Sooooo, that kind of says what's in the book is true!

Then Trump refuses to accept the apology for what?  Not saying what is a phony quote in a phony book?  NO!!  He's angry because the quotes were accurate and they WERE directed at his idiot offspring.  And how do we know this?

Because next, one of Trump's advisors, I can't remember his name, told a group of reporters ON AIRFORCE ONE, that there was no way back for Bannon.  "You can't attack the man's family like he did and expect to get away with it."   WHAT?  Did this guy just admit that what was said in the book was ACCURATE?  He sure did, kids!!!

I need a break, here!  I can't keep up!   Then the very stable genius says he's, "like, really smart."   Lie after lie, after lie!  If he's so smart, why did he hire Manafort the Russian spy, General Flynn the Russian lobbyist, Bannon the white supremacist, and the Nazi Sebastion in the first place?  But I digress.....

Then, that Nazi, Sebastian Wattsizname, tells a reporter that, in the White House, he was told to talk to Wolff, but he knew something was up, and refused to tell Wolff anything.  But he won't say who told him that and he didn't report his suspicions to anyone.  In trying to help, Sebastian the Nazi confirmed that Wolff had access to the WH, he (and others) were being instructed to talk to him, and therefore, everything in his book is quite accurate.  With friends like that.....

What a weekend!

i have no problem with thread...who posted about a problem?
