Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency

Just received a letter from the Gov. Pentagon Agency. My mom lost 2 brothers in WWII, one was never found. We always believed he was in Africa. I was only 1 year old in 1943 when he was lost. (I'll have to pull up the papers and such that my grandparents and mom kept to get the exact dates.)  

My brother in Michigan and I, are the only family left and have provided information about our missing Uncle. We have received a few letters over the last years but no location of Donald Mickelson's remains yet. Uncle Harold (Mickey) was a pilot and his plane went down in California on a training mission, so Donald is the only one that was in the actual war zone - Africa.  Story we heard was that he was leading a patrol when he started across a river and was attacked by a Crocodile.  Whether that is true or not, we'll probably never really know,  

Anyway, the letter I received  is an invitation to a special Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency regional meeting for families with missing U.S. Personnel. Will be  held on May 18,  2019 in Omaha, Nebraska at the Omaha Marriott hotel  - 10220 Regency Circle.  Because my brother and I never knew Donald Mickelson, we have no personal stories to share with others.

So if any of you out there have anyone in the missing, I do want to pass on our heartfelt caring for your loss.
