Dear Members,
Thank you for taking the time to find out more about the
United Coalition of We The People USA. I have prepared a list of
FAQ based on the feedback and questions that I have received. This section will be updated as future questions are asked.
I would appreciate it if you would take the time to read through this entire section before you decide to JOIN this Group.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support.
What type of Coalition are you planning? The Coalition would be a Group of Groups. It would be one large Group made of smaller Groups. The smaller Groups will be diverse, in that each each group will have a separate "cause" and their own members.
How will you grow the Coalition? When a Group joins the Coalition, the members of that Group would also become Coalition members. Unlike groups that focus on recruiting individual members, the Coalition will focus on recruiting established Groups. The Groups could be grassroots, political, religious, social networks, etc. Instead of focusing on adding individal members, for example 2-10 new members per day, the Coalition will focus on recruiting groups with 200, 2,000 or 20,000 members. This will allow us to rapidly build an extremely large and powerful Coalition.
Why should I join the Coalition? Since I started this site, WeThePeopleUSA.ning.com, I have seen many blogs, social networking sites and grass roots movements sprout up on the internet. This means that citizens across our Country are concerned about the future of our Nation and the legacy that we will leave behind to our Children and Grandchildren. However, many of us have joined group after group, looking for answers and leadership only to find out the we are spinning our wheels because posts are off topic and other times group members seem to have thier own agenda. Many people that I have talked to, seem to feel frustrated, disappointed and hopeless. They want to change the way things happen in our Country, but also want to spend their time wisely, therefore, I think a Coalition is the only thing that can make that happen.
How do I know there won't be conflict and that things will go smoothly? Quite often, people that have chosen to get involved in any type of Group or Movement feel like they are being pulled in different directions. I know that this has caused conflict between Group members in different groups and has caused a lot of people to give up fighting for their respective causes alltogether. Although I can't guarantee you that there won't be conflict, because conflict is inevitable in any organization, I can tell you that I have thought about how to go about putting this all together for some time and I think I have put together a pretty good plan. As for things going smoothly, well, there will always be obstacles, but I think its how you deal with those obstacle that sets the tone for everyone else. I don't pretend to have all the answers, but I don't think anyone does. That's why I believe it's best to form a Coalition, so we can get a cross-section of people who have diffrent view points, experiences and insights to agree on the best way we can make progress as one cohesive unit.
Why start a Coalition now? Given all that has recently happened, I'm sure EACH of you know that our Country is in trouble. I believe that all patriotic Americans want to do something to help get our Nation back on track, but many don't know exactly WHAT to do. I know many people here are constantly surfing the internet, visiting blogs and social networking groups looking for updated information and hoping to connect with other like-minded citizens.
I too have done this for months, but in my exhaustive search, I have not yet found a Group that completely meets the objectives that I wish to accomplish. This may be the reason that you are here reading this today, maybe you are still looking for direction. If you already belong to some form of Membership Group, however, whether it is Professional, Religious, Political, Non-Profit or Grass Roots, you may know how hard it is to coordinate efforts to get things done. That's why I believe that we need to create a Coalition or a Group of Groups that will allow us to share resources and information and combine our efforts and energies so we can all head in the same direction and make a greater impact.
Why not just Coordinate Group efforts on this site? Unfortunately, my site here, WeThePeopleUSA, along with many other great social networking sites and blogs are designed for information sharing and are NOT designed to enable members to plan and implement strategies. In fact, most civic and religious groups, activist organizations and political parties DO NOT have the technology in place that allows their members to work collaboratively with one another Nationally or on a State or Local level. This makes if very difficult, if not imposible to organize, plan and implement the strategies that are neccessary to effectuate long-term sustainable changes.
Shouldn't we just use email and conference calls to plan a course of action? No. Although we can get emails and text messages on our cell phones and schedule conference calls with 200 people, when you have to communicate with people and/or groups in different parts of the country, and/or rely on key people for information, it is extremely difficult to organize, plan and implement strategies. You need a more complex system that allows people to filter through information and you have to keep a permanent record of the decisions that are made and the actions that need to been taken. You also need a way to manage critical information and make that information searchable and accessible to everyone. Additionally, you need a way to manage tasks, projects, people and communications. In other words, you have to make sure that the right information gets to the right people at the right time, so informed decisions can be made.
I am confortable doing what I'm doing, why isn't it enough? Well, for starters, ask yourself the following questions. How many fowarded emails have you received recently about the same subject? How many conference calls have you been on where no new information was presented? How many blogs have you visited that had outdated or redundant information and off topic comments?
Is this time well spent? NO!! Therefore, the Coalition is purposeful for the simple reason that, you can avoid this frustration and all Member Groups can work together in a collaborative fashion. A Coalition will allow all of us to spend our time wisely and accomplish more as one unit.
If my Group joins the Coaliton, will I lose my members? No. All Groups in the Coalition will retain their own individual Memberships and Group Identity. They will also work on advancing their own "causes." For example, I am aware that there are some groups that are attempting to re implement state militias, others are focused on petitioning our Representatives, some are working on ending the Federal Reserve, others are organizing to petition our Government for a Redress of Grievances and many more are tirelessly taking action to make sure our right to bear arms remains uninfringed. Groups who join the Coalition can still focus on their respective causes.
What if my Group has a "cause" that differs from the causes of other Member Groups? That's a good thing, because we need a cross-section of diverse groups in the Coalition. We have a lot of work to do in our Country and ONE Group working on ONE cause can't accomplish everything that needs to be accomplished. Therefore, even though the "causes" of individual Groups may vary, I am convinced that the best way to make headway is if we all work together. I believe, that no matter what the Group or the "cause," we are ALL essentially trying to accomplish the same thing...defending our Constitution, preserving our Republic and putting the power back in the hands of We The People. So to all group leaders that are reading this, please keep this in mind, whatever type of group you have, whether it is a religious, political, a social networking site, a local VFW, you are LIMITED to what you can accomplish by continuing to work in "Isolation."
Why is Uniting important? I believe that by UNITING Groups for the Common Good, we can lay the proper foundation that is needed to make a real difference. Brick by brick, citizen by citizen, WE ALL CAN COME TOGETHER to take back our Country.
Why is a Coalition necessary? The Coalition will help us organize, plan and implement strategies so we can take coordinated and purposeful ACTION. The goal of the Coalition is to create Order out of Chaos and to achieve our stated objectives.
Will the Coalition advance the cause of my Group? The Coalition, will not only advance the Causes of each Member Group, but it will allow everyone involved to share information, resources and talent. This way duplicative efforts will be reduced, data could be shared by everyone and members could work on tasks and projects with other Groups.
What about resources? I believe a Coalition would allow us to share and coordinate internal and external resources like attorneys, marketing professionals, web site developers, public relations experts or soccer moms that are willing to volunteer to stuff envelopes. In effect, everyone can use their unique talents, abilities and skills for the benefit of all participating Coalition Member Groups.
How do we build a Coalition? To successfully build a unified Coalition, I believe that it is critical to bring the right technology, ideas and people together.
How are you going to Coordinate this? To Coordinate this, I have chosen a software program that I utilize in my consulting practice. Although the software is designed to organize and manage the performance of organizations, I believe it can easily be adopted for the purposes of forming a Coalition. The software is an internet-based Organizational Management Software called OnTheSystem. It is relatively new to the market and my company,
InteliCorp, Inc. is one of the only Consulting companies who is using it exclusively.
How much does the software cost? Normally, a licensing fee has to be paid to use the software and the price is determined by the number of registered users. However, I have already spoken to the creator of the software program, Mike Kramer, who has generously agreed to waive the normal licensing fee because he is whole-heartedly behind this cause.
How is this software different? OnTheSystem is completely different from a blog or social networking site, as it's purpose is NOT to just share information, but to ORGANIZE, PLAN and IMPLEMENT an agreed upon course of ACTION. The software has every conceivable tool that you would need to organize Groups and plan and implement strategies. It has a task and project management feature, a newsletter feature, a searchable knowledge base, a document manager and rich text editor, security features, virtual meeting rooms, an internal communication system and much, much more.
Is the Software difficult to learn? No. If you can send an email, upload a document and create a blog posting, I think you can easily learn how to use the software in a few weeks.
Why do I need to learn something new? Because this last election, we did NOT have the right technology to coordinate our efforts. Today, everything revolves around the computer and the internet. If we want to make progress, we ALL need to start working SMARTER by using the right technology to work in a more coordinated and collaborative fashion.
What if I am scared of technology or I don't want to be a leader? That's okay. We will need many volunteers to achieve our goals. It would be great if you took the time to learn the software, but if you don't have the time or are not technologically savvy, or don't want to take the lead, there will be a lot that you can do to help advance the cause.
How will the Coalition be formed? Key Members or Representatives from each Group would be recruited to participate in the Coalition as Founding Members. We can start out small, with 5-10 members per Member Group.
How many Groups will be Founding Member Groups? The Goal is to start out with 50 Diverse Founding Member Groups who delegate 5-10 Member Representatives to be part of the Coalition. These groups and their respective delegates will form the Founding Coalition Membership Groups and Members. The Founding Members will be responsible for drafting a "ReDeclaration of Independence" which would incorporate the goals and objectives of ALL 50 Member Groups. My Objective is to make this a democratic and collaborative process.
What will be required for each Founding Member? Each Founding Member would be required to learn how to use the OnTheSystem software and should be able to a lot 5-10 hours a week on Coalition activities.
How will I learn how to use the software? I will donate my time to conduct the necessary training which will take place online 2-3 hours a week over a 2-3 week timeframe.
What happens after the training is completed? Once the software training is completed, the Founding Members will use the OnTheSystem Coalition site to draft our "ReDeclaration of Independence."
What is a "ReDeclaration of Independence?" This will be a document that lists what we expect from our Government and what our roles and responsibilities are as Citizens of these United States. We can then use this document to define the Mission, Vision and Values of the Coalition.
Will every member in the respective Groups use OnTheSystem? No. In the beginning, the Main OnTheSystem Coalition site will just include Founding Coalition Groups and Group Members.
How will members who are not OnTheSystem know what is going on? Until all of the details are worked out, the Founding Members of the Coalition will be responsible for informing their respective Groups about Coalition related activities, projects and progress and will be responsible for gathering feedback from their groups as we continue to priortitize Coalition activities, define our strategies and plan a course of ACTION.
This way each Group has a "voice" regarding the actions that need to be taken and will allow everyone to better concentrate their efforts. It would also mean that Members can utilize their individual skills and contacts to benefit ALL members across ALL groups. Finally, we will be UNITED, because "United We Stand, Divided, We Fall!"
Where can Members that are not OnTheSystem meet? Since everyone will not be OnTheSystem, I can create another NING Social Networking site strictly for Coalition activity. This way members can come together to network and communicate on Coalition related projects, objectives and other activities. In fact, this GROUP here, on this NING site, is just temporary, as I am currently in the process of developing the United Coalition of We The People USA Netoworking site.
What happens when the Coaliton grows? As the Coalition expands and more Groups join, we can form STATE Coalition groups that are made up of local group that are working on the STATE and LOCAL Level and within their own Communities.
What else? As State and Local initiatives grow, there may be a need to create separate OnTheSystem sites for each State Coalition. If all goes as planned, this could happen in as quickly as 3-6 months depending on how things progress.
I like the idea, now what? If you are interested in presenting this information to your Group, Organization, Political Party, Non-Profit, Professional Netowork, Religious Organization, etc., and/or if you are interested in becoming one of the Founding Members of the United Coalition of We The People USA, please let me know, asap.
What can I do today? Spread the word that we are forming a Coalition. Send emails out to your contacts, post on blogs (see suggested posting in th comments section on the group page), visit social networking sites, talk to grassroots organizations, non-profits, political parties, religious organizations, professional networking groups and to fellow citizens within our own communities. Tell anyone that will listen what we are trying to accomplish and why.
What if my question wasn't answered here or I have other ideas? Please contact me via email through this site. Since I receive a number of emails, please put "Coalition" in the subject line and be sure to include all of your contact information.
Thanks again for your patriotism, participation and support.
