Sorry it took me so long to get back to you about posting. I see you have figured it out. You can also request friends by clicking on their profile pictures and send an add friend request. They then have the option to accept or not. The other controls for your site are in the settings link at the top right of your site. You can customize it and put any picture you want on your profile page.
