Tonight Obama once again blamed the tool instead of the person behind the tool and refused to implicate the real reasons why all the school and other serial shootings are getting more deadly.

This was reported on Yahoo News.

Obama says U.S. gun laws must be changed, gun owners must speak up

By Jeff Mason and Roberta Rampton

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama on Thursday angrily called for stricter U.S. gun laws after the latest mass murder in Oregon and took aim at the powerful National Rifle Association gun lobby for blocking reform.

Appearing in the White House briefing room with a grim expression and an angry tone, Obama said it was not enough to offer prayers after major shootings continued to occur regularly throughout the country.

"As I said just a few months ago, and I said just a few months before that, and I said each time we see one of these mass shootings, our thoughts and prayers are not enough," Obama told reporters after the latest shooting at a community college in which 13 people were killed and some 20 people were wounded.

"It's not enough," he said.

Nodding to the arguments that such shootings are often committed by the mentally ill, Obama said it was clear that anyone who commits such crimes had a "sickness in their minds."

President Barack Obama speaks in the Brady Press Briefing Room at the White House in Washington, Oct …

"But we are not the only country on Earth who has people with mental illnesses who want to do harm to other people," he said. "We are the only advanced country on Earth who sees these kinds of mass shootings every few months."

Obama spoke mainly without notes, angrily anticipating the arguments that gun advocates would brandish in the wake of the shooting. He said he knew his opponents would criticize him for politicizing a tragedy.

“This is something we should politicize,” he said, calling on Americans of all political stripes to hold their elected leaders accountable for acting on the issue.

Obama called on gun owners who use weapons for hunting, sport and protection to question whether the gun lobby represented their views. He did not mention the National Rifle Association by name, but his comments were clearly directed at that organization, which has broad political influence in Washington.

Obama and Vice President Joe Biden made a concerted push for broad gun control reforms after the 2012 Newtown, Connecticut school shooting of young children that shocked the country. They were unsuccessful.

Obama said he would continue to bring up the need for reform every time such a shooting took place, but the White House has made clear that it was unlikely to attempt another broad push on gun control through the Republican-led U.S. Congress.

Well I will speak out since I am a gun owner!

Lets take this apart and see where the Great and Powerful Oz er Oblowhard has made critical 'mistakes' to justify his and the other Progressive/Elites pogrom to remove guns from the hands of Law abiding American Citizens, and neutralize the Second Amendment.

Obama is quoted here; "But we are not the only country on Earth who has people with mental illnesses who want to do harm to other people," he said. "We are the only advanced country on Earth who sees these kinds of mass shootings every few months." I guess he has not been keeping up with the news very much because he definitely has either forgotten the turmoil in the Mid-Eastern, North African, and Muslim Countries and all the DAILY SHOOTINGS there instead of (Monthly?) shootings here. The main points he deliberately misses and/or deliberately conceals, are the facts that the victims in every instance did not have the means to defend themselves against the Nut cases with guns, because of the strict no private ownership rules.

Obama was also quoted as saying; “This is something we should politicize,” he said, calling on Americans of all political stripes to hold their elected leaders accountable for acting on the issue."

Strangely enough, I fully support and agree with him on this point. We must politicize this because it was the politicians that passed stupid laws that have made so many innocent Americans, especially school age Americans, living vulnerable targets of choice for these supposed Nut Cases to prey on. In simple Fact it was a progressive ultra Liberal congress that instituted the idiotic Gun Free Zones that made people in them choice and 'SAFE TARGETS' the gun men could shoot with impunity. Remember this when seconds count the police are only minutes away.

Obama went further and called on gun owners who use weapons for hunting, sport and protection to question whether the gun lobby represented their views. In doing this he totally ignores the simple fact of what the Second Amendment really means. It's not to protect the hunting and sport shooting rights of the people, It's meant to be the TEETH of the Constitution so the people would always have the means to fight back against an over aggressive/repressive Government. That is the fact that scares the crap out of the Elitist punks, because it thwarts their desire to make the American people subjects on their knees, to cater to all the Elitists wants and desires. Those progressives know they can't impose all that they want to, when facing an armed public without jeopardizing their personal safety. The way they try to get around the 2nd by creating the  laws that expose us to mortal danger and at the same time prevent us from having the means to protect ourselves, is unforgivable.

Shootings like those that just happened at that community college, and all the way back to the New Town shootings and including the Theater shootings, are blood on the hands of the Politicians who created and continue to defend their deadly fiasco laws as keeping people safe, instead of admitting that it takes a gun in the hands of a "Good Guy" to stop the gun in the hands of the"Nut Case Bad Guy". Congress is not stupid, and they do know that they should repeal all those maleficent laws that are responsible for the excessive danger to and recurring shooting deaths of our children because of the "Protection Laws" they enacted, but they won't do anything to admit their Duplicity.

The equation is a simple one that everyone knows instinctively. Criminals and Nut Cases don't obey the law, and no law to date anywhere in the world, or back through time, has been able to remove the weaponry from the Criminal and Nut Case elements of any society. They never will. All they have done is to expose law abiding people to the real danger of being killed because of some politicians kowtowing to a Progressive Bloc of overly vocal groups, who are a minority numbers compared with the average American citizen.

If Obama and the rest of that Politically Correct Slime Bag politicians were really intent about making us safe, they would see to it that every Adult American was able to be trained , armed, and the laws would support them should they have to act in defense of themselves, loved ones, or even strangers who's lives were in imminent danger.

Good for you, DE

Fredrick,

Statements like that are constantly used by the Gun Grabbers as an emotional ploy to bolster their agendas, the way I would say it is" A 30 or larger round capacity magazine is the perfect load capability to protect ones self and loved ones from an abusive dictatorial Government that has lost it's ability to act properly towards it's citizen masters, and wants to make the citizenry subservient subjects."

LOL,

Iam humbled M, I often try to show that level of eloquence, but alas, my blunt and straight forward nature outs me every time, still working on that "brain/mouth" thing, lol.

Frederick,

If you knew how many re-writes it took to get to that point, you would know I am not eloquent, just plodding along. But thanks for the compliment.

The size of the needed magazine is dictated by the size of the one the attackers have I want the bigger one as the last one with ammo wins 100% of the time.

The big city left is afraid of guns - I was in the Army with many NYC bad boys in 1965 and they were scared to death about shooting a rifle. Closed their eyes to shoot.

Hum, where is the recoil?

Just because you're emotional about guns doesn’t make your favored legislation any more practical or effective

The D.I. used to have to reach down and pull the trigger for some of the first time shooters, then he would just kick them in the A** if they didn't shoot properly, and everyone had to qualify or else.

M,

The stupid army sent some kids that could not hit a 25 year man size target off to AIT? I Told one RA if he wanted one kid to go through advance and live fire that he [The D.I.] should go in front - he flunked the guy.

For years, I was against guns. When I was 12, I made a poster saying "guns are dangerous. When my dad tried to get me to shoot his 20 gauge, I cried.  Some of this anti-gun was coming from the schools. Keep in mind, this was in the early 50s. Oh well, gave away something.  I had 4 little hand gun toys - no bigger than a Ritz cracker. When I went to add them to my poster - they were gone.  Never found out where they went.  After marrying a sportsman hunter/fisherman learned about hunting and fishing. Grew into it. So much so, that I actually shot 2 deer over time. That is hard, considering I love animals. Anyway, I have since made use of my knowledge - stopped a woman from being beaten in her car, in front of our house; and stopped my daughter from being taken from our house by her ex-boy friend. My husband called the Cops - they showed up a hour later, we are far away from the Dane County sheriff''s dispatch center. And, the officer gave us his personal phone number if we needed.  He noticed that the 2 men involved were nearby.  So gun-free zones absolutely NOT!

I have taken the hunter/gun safety course 3 times - once with my grandson, once with each of two children.  And I, my daughter, her daughter and son-in-law have also signed up for the new rights in Wisconsin. So criminals, we are not gun free zones.

In case you missed it, National Review’s Charles C.W. Cooke also appeared on today’s Morning Joe.…

Follow National Review - even liked William F. Buckley, especially in the debates of the 60s. So we have a subscription to the NR and can share.  Thanks to Buckley for starting this political publication. Kinda wish he was still around, but his writers and the group that Breitbart gathered are some of the best.
