We The People USA

Citizens Dedicated To Preserving Our Constitutional Republic

The Epoch Times, newer media paper Editor-in-chief Jasper Fakkert

Here's what they say about themselves.

"The Epoch Times is a media organization dedicated to seeking the truth through insightful and independent journalism.

Standing outside of political interests and the pursuit of profit, our starting point and our goal is to create a media for the public benefit, to be truly responsible to society.

We endeavor to educate readers about today's most important topics, seeking to broaden and uplift minds.  We believe that rational, balanced debate is key for fostering a healthy democracy and a compassionate society.

As an independent media outlet, we use our freedom to investigate issues overlooked -- or avoided -- by other media outlets.  We seek to highlight solutions and what's good in society rather than what divides us.

We report respectfully, compassionately, and rigorously.

We stand against the destruction wrought by communism, including the harm done to cultures around the world.

We are inspired in this way by our own experience.  The Epoch Times was founded in 2000 to bring honest and uncensored news to people oppressed by the lies and violence in communist China.

We still believe journalism is a noble vocation, but only when it genuinely seeks to serve its communities and help them to flourish. In all that we do, we will hold ourselves to the highest standards of integrity. This is our promise to you."

The paper I received ( to resident) was dated 12-27-2018, and it certainly is interesting. Much better from the ones I've been seeing lately.

Am thinking about checking it out and perhaps, even subscribing.

Anyone out there know anything about this group?

To subscribe, they provided the following info: subscribe.epochtimes.com  or phone # 212-239-2808

I may be wrong but it sounds at first glance like what Radio Free Europe was during the dark days of the Cold War. If it is, then it's a policy driven construct with a definite agenda. What that agenda is and if it exists, can be determined by looking at a cross section of what it reports, and then determine the consistent slant to it's reporting. Everything has a slant/agenda to it, even this site. The agenda here is to actively fight the Progressives and turn back the Socialist tide any way we legally can. The Socialist Opposition does not seem to hold Legality very highly, and that is why it's so hard for us to succeed when we remain law abiding citizens. But we can, through never giving up, and maintaining the best fight possible against them.

Truthfully I can't say what epochtimes.com stands for. It should become clear over a period of time and carefully listening what is being said by them and reading between their lines.

Thanks, I have read the whole paper from 2018; it appears that you may be right - they seem to be against the Media blitz we lave been getting over the  last few decades. And I agree with most of what they presented; however, need to learn more.  Don't have a way to copy these articles, but will try to decipher a few.  Am still considering signing up for it. Need more info. (They have been in business since 2006, according to their own report information.)

(Thought I'd share this editorial message - Jasper Fakkert - from "TRUMP'S FIRST 2 YEARS in OFFICE" )

From the Editor:

"Dear readers,"

"We are now two years into the Trump presidency."

" Whether you agree with the president or not, our country has gone through a profound change.  Talking with Americans across the country, our Epoch Times reporters have a renewed sense of hope.  Beyond the improved economy, many people feel America is once again standing up for the values on which it was it was founded."

"During his presidency, Trump has built on the idea that for a nation to be prosperous, it needs to be virtuous."

"It was the great Thomas Jefferson who said, 'The God who gave us life, gave us liberty.'  Jefferson asked, 'Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are  the gift of God?'  Trump said in his remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast on Feb 2, 2017."

"In fighting for what's good, Trump has taken a strong stance against communism and socialism, and the devastating effects seen wherever they've been practiced.  His administration is trying to undo the effects these harmful ideologies have had on America."

"Part of this effort can be seen in the cutting of regulations and taxes that  have stymied economic growth."

"Trump also has made protecting America a key focus of his presidency.  He helped prevent a war with North Korea by using diplomatic pressure and sanctions, combined with a credible military threat."

"He has focused on rebuilding America's military while simultaneously forging new alliances.

"He has taken a strong stance against China's economic warfare, and has made it clear that the United States will no longer accept China's draining of the U.S. economy, nor its rampant theft  of America's intellectual property."

"This special edition covers 70 different ways the Trump Administration has changed America over the past two years."

MY THOUGHTS? THEY ARE PRESENTING WHAT WE NEED TO SEE AND HEAR.

I read some of the columns, still working on the rest. I am largely convinced to subscribe.

(Had some strange thoughts about the editor in chief  Fakkert, maybe fake heart?)  Suspect I'm being sill, though.)
