It seems to me too many cops over react and end up killing inocent people to often.....

In Baton Rouge cops confront man and tackle him..Then shoot him.If I got tackled like that I would try and defend myself. This police mentality has to change.

Personally having been a patrolman, I think that deploying those button cameras on every officer would benefit both the civilians and the police because you can't refute what is remotely recorded in an incident as seen through the officers eyes. It would convict the bad officers and exonerate the good ones, and make court cases simpler. Proper legal and technical safeguards against tampering would have to be enacted in my opinion though.

M this might make you angry but you will get over it im sure. Not many  cops have an education past 12th grade. Cop school now days teach them differently. Police have lost respect from the public, mostly because of the robotic type of patrolling. The PC has forced politics to change how we engineer our police officers.Years ago to be a State Trooper you needed to be 6 ft. 3 in. And the did not have women. When a patrollman rolled up on a disturbance he was very intimidating. Now you have short small cops getting intimidated to the point they are scared. And then the gun comes out. It is not as simple as that but the pc set the stage years ago for the policing and interactions we have now.Back in the day a cop would let some things slide. A guy selling loose cigarettes would not be a problem. In fact the cop might buy one from him to keep in touch with his people.Today it is an us and them atmosphere.

Did you also know that not so many years ago if an officer was involved in a shooting they went before a gun board and the officer was asked why. If it was a known repeat offender criminal the officer could get away with it by saying he deserved it. So don't think I don't know what goes on. I still believe the best way to curtail bad actions is by mandating the officers have the button hole cameras that film everything the officer does on patrol. You are going to get more squawks from officers because they will be under scrutiny every minute and they won't be able to skate around their duties and goof off like they all do occasionally.

I believe they set up the people to beg for cameras that take away basic rights to privacy as a precedent to coming legislation.
Terrorism will cause the people to beg for national I'D cards and a mark in their foreheads to replace cash.

I cary. ! I have been stopped for alleged traffic violations. If an officer doesn't ask if you have anything that may hurt him on you the first thing you do is hold you're hands where he can see them and tell him you have a concealed weapon. He will tell you what to do next.Don't move you're hands from plain sight, it could cost you you're life.

In some States that is the law, but don't be fooled whena check is made over the in cruiser computer everything in LEIN system comes up including if you have a carry permit. You should tell them "I have a Permit and I am, or am not armed, whichever is the case at the time then ask them how they wish to proceed".

I am white and I absolutely do not trust a cop to do the right thing. I am afraid of cops.
