The Dutch Tulip Bubble of 1637
The later part of the 20th century saw its share of odd financial bubbles. There was the real-estate bubble, the stock market bubbles, and the dot com bubble, just to name a few. In each instance of price inflation people paid exorbitant amounts for things that shouldn’t have been worth anything like the going price. And each time people stood around afterwards and said “What were we thinking?”

One has to believe that the same thought occurred to the Dutch in the 17th century when they settled down after their bout with tulipomania, wherein the humble tulip bulb began to sell for prices to make New York Realtors blanch.

As much as the tulip is associated with Holland, it is not native there. Rather it was introduced in 1593 by a botanist named Carolus Clusius, who brought it from Constantinople. He planted a small garden, intending to research the plant for medicinal purposes. Had Clusius’s neighbors been morally upright, the tulip might still be a rare exotic in the gardening world. Instead they broke into his garden and stole some of his bulbs in order to make some quick money, and in the process started the Dutch bulb trade

The establishment on the right as well as establishment left, want to keep the volley of power going ...While the Bilderberg NWO, play the middle.

Schools have made the masses into propagandists for their cause whose goals the people  are not fully aware of yet, and who are used cynically by the leaders of the cause to gain power.  Any realization that power gained by the government is freedom lost by the people. The common attitude is it could never happen in America. But it has, just look at the history of the Democrat, slavery, secession from the U.S. KKK, segregation and  mandated racial segregation in all public facilities by Woodrow Wilson (D), trail of tears and attempted genocide of the Indian nations by Andrew Jackson (D) , Civil rights opposition, Japanese interment camps FDR (D), genocide of  the unworthy by abortion LBJ (D), Viet Nam started and lost by the Democrat, and the list could be much longer

Yet another valid reason to Vett and Vote for the proper people for Congress and State Legislatures to load them up with people responsible to us and that honor the Constitution.

Sanders Misleads on Social Security
Sen. Bernie Sanders repeats a Democratic talking point in saying that Social Security hasn’t contributed “one penny” — or “one nickel” — to the deficit. In fact, it contributed $73 billion to the deficit in 2014.

Charles,

What I would like to see is a comparison between the Social security Debt, and the Welfare Debt  compared side by side loudly and publicly. Welfare would be a total drain where Social Security would only be a partial drain because the working public has no choice but to contribute to it through their payroll deductions.

Had it not been for the Democrats during the Eisenhower Administration stealing the incoming money and putting IOU's into the fund so they could increase Welfare and other payouts that bought them votes, and the outright theft of the sequestered funds during the LBJ administration to fund the failed "Great Society" that we are still paying for handouts, and the moving of funds to medicare, Social Security would still be solvent.

Another question I would like asked is why there is always enough of a surplus of funds for Welfare and Foreign aid programs the return nothing, but Social security is always being caught up short and in danger of going bankrupt?

That is a good point "M" what people seem to not comprehend is the difference to economy that money makes when its spent in this country, verses money spent on products (Oil Steel Cars) imported into the country or given in Aid.  Just look and the cites that have been built in Dubai using money from US. All off that money could and should have remained here.

Considering that we have just about shut down american natural gas and oil production here, along with taxing business to the point it has mostly left for foreign shores, I doubt if america will remain the free world leader beyond 2020 if that long.

Chelsea's Husband to Close Greek Hedge Fund After Losing 90% of Value
Chelsea Clinton's husband is reportedly closing his Greek hedge fund. The news from Marc Mezvinsky comes after the fund is said to have lost 90 percent of its value.

"It was a hedge fund portfolio pitched by Hillary Clinton's son-in-law, Marc Mezvinsky, as an opportunity to bet on a Greek economic revival," the New York Times reports.
