Pelosi: Democrats will 'continue to negotiate with Speaker Boehner'

Pelosi: Democrats will 'continue to negotiate with Speaker Boehner'

"He is the Speaker until he gives up the gavel,” the House Democratic leader said.

Of course and he will give them what they want. That is what traitors do.

If there is a person that you or any of us want make our wishes known via e mail. Yet's not just talk let's get into action.

Kevin does not sound too bad on his stances however the test is will he be bought off . That is always the test very few pass it almost none.

Where did you get the idea that I am just talk? I have repeatedly taken action via phone, email etc and met with many brick walls but I have never stopped taking action. There are many like me.

In January, 25 Republicans opposed Boehner, but the most votes any other GOP candidate garnered was 12 — for Rep. Dan Webster (R-Fla.).

There is also this possibility: If Boehner left the speakership and there was no GOP consensus on a conservative successor, some Republicans could join with Democrats to elect a moderate Republican speaker.

This exactly what we need to watch out for. This is very possible.

I am sure it is the plan now lets see if anyone will stop the plan.

Gosh    I might vomit as he spews lie after lie.

Obama: Boehner a 'good man,' a 'patriot'

President Obama on Friday said despite his differences with John Boehner, the retiring Speaker was a "good man" and a "patriot."

"He cares deeply about the House," the president said. "He cares about his constituents and he cares about America."

The Ohio Republican was "someone who understands … you have to work with people you disagree with, sometimes strongly, in order to do the people’s business," Obama added.

The president called on Boehner's successor to work to prevent government shutdowns.

“My hope is there’s a recognition on the part of the next speaker — something I think [Boehner] understood, although at times it was challenging to bring his caucus along — that we can have significant differences but that doesn’t mean you shut down the government,” Obama told reporters Friday.

“In our democracy, you don’t get what you want 100 percent of the time,” he added.

The president noted, though, that he would not "prejudge" Boehner's successor.

Obama said Boehner’s announcement caught him by surprise as he was coming out of a meeting with China's President Xi Jinping this morning.

House members were also caught by surprise. The House leader told GOP lawmakers in a closed-door conference that he will resign from both his Speakership and his House seat, effective Oct. 30.
  • McCarthy: Time for GOP to unify

McCarthy: Time for GOP to unify

McCarthy is seen as the favorite to succeed Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio).

“Now is the time for our conference to focus on healing and unifying to face the challenges ahead and always do what is best for the American people,” he said in a statement that praised Boehner’s leadership.

Speaking to reporters after Boehner’s announcement, McCarthy wouldn’t answer questions about whether he would run for Speaker.

So nice that Obama is complimenting his puppet.
