Sanders rips Clinton for inconsistencies on trade, Keystone

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) says his consistency on trade and the Keystone XL pipeline serve as a sharp contrast to Hillary Clinton, days after she reversed course to oppose  (TPP).

“I believe that our trade policies going way back when — I voted against NAFTA, CAFTA, PNT, all with China. I think they have been a disaster for the American worker,” he said in an interview excerpt released Friday. The full interview airs Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
“People will have to contrast my consistency and my willingness to stand up to Wall Street and corporations, big corporations, with [Clinton]," the self-described Democratic socialist added.

Sanders also noted that he came out against the Keystone XL pipeline on “day one,” because “if you’re serious about climate change, you don't encourage the excavation and transportation of very dirty oil.”

This week, Clinton announced that she had changed her mind on the TPP — President Obama’s signature trade deal, which she had touted as his secretary of State.

Her reasoning: It didn’t meet the “high bar” of a good trade deal of creating jobs, raising wages and protecting national security.

She also came out against the Keystone pipeline last month, a long-awaited decision that she had been asked about on the campaign trail for months. That is another project that she worked on as a member of the Obama administration.

The interview will air just two days before Sanders and Clinton square off in the first Democratic presidential debate.

Clinton still holds a lead in national polling, but Sanders has rode a wave of popularity to the top of most recent polls in New Hampshire and within single digits in Iowa, according to RealClearPolitics.

Rush Limbaugh: GOP Implosion Feared by ‘Establishment of Both Parties’

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) (L) speaks as Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) looks on during a press conference after a closed meeting with fellow Republicans, on Capitol Hill, July 28, 2015 in Washington, DC. The House plans to move on Wednesday to extend highway and transit programs for three months.

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh said Friday the reason why the mainstream media is not visibly celebrating Kevin McCarthy’s decision to drop his bid for House Speaker and the ensuing Republican Party implosion is because the perception is that conservatives have won a victory over Washington insider establishment individuals like McCarthy.

Establishment Repubs can be depended on for ONE THING and that is to SELL us OUT OVER AND OVER! I am SICK of it!

Meet Peter Roskam, Dark Horse Candidate for Speaker

The last time Republicans faced a crisis of succession for Speaker of the House, they turned to a quiet figure from Illinois, Dennis Hastert, to lead them. With Peter Roskam, the House GOP may again find the answer in Illinois.

Silicon Valley Suddenly Cares About Speaker Fight

(Ferenstein Wire) – The tech industry, now one of the largest private sector lobbying forces in Washington DC, hasn’t had much to say as Republicans scramble to find a new Speaker for the House of Representatives. But now, Congress’s geekiest member, Representative Darrell Issa, is “considering” putting his hat in the ring and has turned heads in the well-heeled tech halls of D.C.

Claim: Hillary Clinton Camp Asked IT Company to ‘Cut the Backup’ on...

An email set by a subcontractor suggests that Hillary Clinton’s deputies repeatedly directed them to erase months-old backups of her State Department emails, just as federal officials began asking for the emails.

Ben Carson Won’t Rule Out Donald Trump As Running Mate

GOP presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson said Oct. 9 that he wouldn’t rule out sharing a ticket with GOP frontrunner Donald Trump, saying Trump has brought “enthusiasm” to the primary.

That is wise since Donald is NOT going anywhere!
