Everyone has a right to wishful thinking Ted..... but Trump support is very strong and it does not look like he is going anywhere soon.

Keep wishing Ted, Trump is looking real strong.

Issa considering running for Speaker

Francis Riviera

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), the former chairman of the House Oversight Committee, is considering a bid for Speaker, a source close to the congressman told The Hill.

"There is no definitive decision that's been made, but it's certainly being talked about. All options are on the table," the source said.

Issa is slated to appear on a pair of morning shows Friday — MSNBC's "Morning Joe" and CNBC's "Squawk Box."

His entrance into the race for the top leadership spot would come on the heels of Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy's (R-Calif.) decision drop out of the Speaker's race Thursday, despite being the favorite.

“Kevin McCarthy demonstrated the character of a true leader by taking a step back and putting the interests of our Conference ahead of his own. He remains our Leader and maintains the respect and confidence of his colleagues," Issa said in a statement Thursday.

"Now, it’s incumbent upon us to have a robust conversation about the direction and future of our party. I pledge to play a constructive role in that discussion and hope my colleagues will do the same as we work to choose a Speaker who best represents the values and aspirations of the American people," he added.

News that Issa was considering a Speaker bid was first reported by IJReview.

Issa, who served in an often combative high-profile position as chairman of the House Oversight Committee until early this year, would join Reps. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) and Daniel Webster (R-Fla.) as the remaining declared candidates for the position. Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) is also heavily rumored to be considering a bid.

In 2006, Issa made a push to become chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee, the fifth-ranking post for House Republicans. He was beat back by then-Rep. Thad McCotter (R-Mich.) by a more than 2-to-1 margin.

Christie on McCarthy: Nobody in America cares

Getty Images
Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie on Thursday dismissed GOP clamoring over who might become the next Speaker, a topic roiling Capitol Hill.

"Nobody in America could care less," the New Jersey governor said during an appearance on CNN's "The Lead," comparing congressional leadership races to the political intrigue of "Game of Thrones."
"They don’t care who the Speaker is going to be. What they want is a Congress that is actually going to do something," Christie said.

Christie has repeatedly brushed off the questions about the jockeying to fill top Republican leadership positions in the House that Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) set in motion with his decision last month to resign.

The governor spoke after Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), the favorite to become Speaker, abruptly withdrew his name from contention on Thursday.

Christie continued to chide Republicans on CNN for not sending more legislation to President Obama's desk. "But as for this 'Game of Thrones' business? Nobody cares."

"They don’t care who the Speaker is going to be.

I keep forgetting he is in the race until he comes out and says something stupid. We do care Christie that is how out of touch you are.

Christie is AN IDIOT!

Court refuses to combine dozens of cases over Clinton emails

A federal court is denying the State Department’s efforts for judges to coordinate on the roughly three-dozen pending lawsuits related to former Secretary Hillary Clinton’s emails.

The decision from the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia is a setback for the department, which had complained that the multiple legal fronts were draining its limited resources.

But the multiple cases were at such different points in their development, Chief Judge Richard Roberts wrote in an order released on Thursday, it made little sense to combine them.

“Many of the underlying cases have been pending for several years and a significant number of scheduling orders have already been entered,” Roberts wrote.

The decision to deny the State Department’s request was unanimous, Roberts added.

However, he noted that individual judges have “committed to informal coordination so as to avoid unnecessary inefficiencies and confusion.”

The State Department has complained about the multiple public records lawsuits, which seek to force into the light various documents from Clinton’s personal server during her time at State.

Last month, the government filed an request seeking to have a single judge coordinate responses to 32 of them. That would cut down on the “confusion, inefficiencies and advantages given to some requesters at the expense of others,” the department claimed.

“It will put some order to what has been a chaotic situation,” government lawyer Elizabeth Shapiro said at the time

In denying the government's motion, the individual cases will continue to move along on a relatively scattershot basis. Any one of the 17 judges involved in the cases has the power to order the State Department to release certain documents or, if they so chose, order new searches on Clinton’s private server.

Organizations suing the government called the court’s decision a win.

The government's request was a “desperate effort to buy time for itself and Hillary Clinton,” Tom Fitton, the head of the conservative group Judicial Watch, said in a statement. Judicial Watch has filed a total of 18 lawsuits involving Clinton’s emails.

“With this obstruction out of the way, we are one step closer to the legal reckoning for Mrs. Clinton’s and the State Department’s contempt for the rule of law.”

A State Department spokesman declined to comment.

Ben Carson Just Said What Jews Tell Each Other About Guns

Dr. Ben Carson said that Hitler’s murder of Jews “would have been greatly diminished” if they had been armed. That, to the Washington Post’s Vanessa Williams, is a scandal. It is, however, what many Jews often tell each other.

Glad Ben is speaking his mind the leftist are attacking him at every turn!
