Legislation Introduced to Stop Issuing Birth Certificates to "Anchor Babies"

Rep. Leo Berman, a state representative from Tyler, has introduced
legislation to stop issuing birth certificates to illegal alien
"anchor babies" and challenge the erroneous interpretation of the
14th amendment that awards citizenship to anyone from anywhere who
happens to be born on US soil, legally or illegally. Please send a
fax to encourage him in his efforts:

The full report:

All news isn't bad news, nor does it have to be. As we enter the
Christmas season, it's vital that we remember the blessings we have
and the glory of the time that we are in.

So far this year, thirty bills have been filed for the upcoming
Texas legislative session to deal with illegal aliens and the
consequences and costs associated with them. Many of them have been
filed by another Republican member of the Texas House: Rep. Leo
Berman.

Berman (R- Tyler), who represents Smith County, recently introduced
a bill that will challenge the so-called anchor baby clause
attached to the 14th Amendment. Berman is against this clause,
which currently grants citizenship to any child born in the United
States of America (even to illegal immigrants and their offspring).

He also isn't backing down from critics, knowing that if his bill
is passed he will become persona non grata in the eyes of the
Hispanic Lobby and the ACLU and that his bill would likely trigger
an immediate lawsuit from open border enthusiasts.

To the idea that the passing of the bill would bring on litigation,
Berman is undaunted: "We want to be sued," he said, adding that he
would like the case to go all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Rep. Berman's bill would not grant birth certificates to children
born in our state whose parents are illegal aliens. Fittingly, and
unlike the current debate ranging around Barack Hussein Obama and
his birth certificate, the child's parents would be issued a
"Temporary Report of Alien Birth" that stated he or she was born,
and then they could promptly go to their home nation to prove
citizenship there.

Some stats that Berman has marshaled to buttress his campaign
against the 14th Amendment "Anchor-Baby" Clause:

* There are two million illegal aliens in Texas at a cost to Texas
tax payers of $4 billion every year

* We are handing out 350,000 U.S. citizenships to children born
here, through the 14th Amendment's clause

* Texas taxpayers are paying $39 million each year to provide for
12,500 incarcerated illegal aliens in state prisons, and as many
more in the county and municipal jails.

* Hospitals in Dallas, Houston and Fort Worth see more than 70
percent of new child births from illegal aliens. When you see
skyrocketing health care costs, remember that statistic and who is
paying for those expensive births.

* A federal mandate to give health care services to anyone needing
emergency treatment regardless of citizenship, legal status or
ability to pay. The next time you wait for hours in an emergency
room, you can thank the federal government for the delay.

"It really bothers me that illegal aliens have better health
benefits than many of my middle income constituents," Rep. Berman
said.

Other states around ours, such as Arizona and Oklahoma, have passed
bills that deal with illegal aliens. Yet while their efforts are
praiseworthy, it only worsens the problem here in Texas as a fluid
illegal alien population merely flows to wherever the enforcement
is lax and government freebies are plentiful.

To deal with this problem, Rep. Berman has also introduced a bill
identical to the illegal immigration law recently passed in
Oklahoma. "The bill... severely punishes employees of illegal
aliens and those who transport or house them. The Oklahoma law also
deals with identity theft, "much of which is being done by illegal
aliens," Berman said. In addition, the bill would give law
enforcement officers the chance to undergo 287 G training from our
Department of Homeland Security.

To demonstrate his frustration with our state government's past
reluctance to address the problems caused by illegal aliens, Rep.
Berman has gone on the record saying he will run for governor if
something isn't done about it.

His efforts are all the more impressive when you consider how many
of our elected officials have sold out to the Hispanic Lobby or
racist La Raza organization in vain hopes of gaining favor with the
supposed coming of the majority minority voting bloc.
These same politicians never seem to figure out that if we enforced
our immigration laws and stopped subsidizing illegitimate births,
we could avoid any major realignment of the traditional ethnic
balance of our state. When illegal aliens get free health care and
health insurance costs $1000 a month or more for a family of
citizens, is it any wonder that Traditional Americans aren't having
as many children? We are seeing nothing less than the ethnic
cleansing of the Traditional American population.

But most cowardly politicians, instead of doing something about the
problem, welcome the demographic change and fall all over
themselves to pander to those who are displacing us. What ever
happened to standing up for your constituents?

The 14th Amendment gives those who are born in this country
automatic citizenship and all the rights that you and I have as
natural born citizens of this country. They would be eligible to
vote when they turn 18, run for president, gain welfare benefits,
and have access to the U.S. healthcare system.

This in turn encourages chain migration, a problem that has
exacerbated our illegal immigration problem and will continue to
bring the third world to America, or what historian Niall Ferguson
called the "Impire" -we aren't having our citizens go abroad to
spread our nation's culture, but are instead inviting the world to
our shores where we get to share in their birth nation's culture.

Chain migration is defined as the "process which depends on a small
number of pioneers, who make the first moves to set up a new home
in a new place. They send information back home, and this
encourages further migration from the originating area."

Ask yourself: "Who would not want to come to the United States?"
The entire world, if they could and had the opportunity would fly
to our shores and have their children born here, so they could get
automatic citizenship for their children. This would encourage more
births on our shores, which would only further erode the
distinctiveness that makes our state and nation great. It is "We
the People" currently living in Texas and the United States that
define who we are as a state and nation. If the third world was
suddenly imported into our backyard, our identity as a people would
cease to exist.

Rep. Berman stands against that population tidal wave that
threatens to leave our state and nation awash in a sea of third
world births. He is a hero for his efforts, and a man who should be
encouraged to run for governor, if only to continue to spread his
important message.

More importantly, Rep. Berman is optimistic about the chances of
changing the fortunes for dealing with the immigration issue in our
state and in our nation as well: "We're going to try and repeal
in-state tuition for illegal aliens, and we're going to try and
prevent illegal aliens from attending any university or junior
college in the state of Texas, so that we can make room for U.S.
citizens who are Texas residents to go to UT-Austin or Texas A&M in
places now which are being held by illegal aliens."

You might still be asking yourself why this issue of birthright
citizenship is so important. However, think for just a moment about
what citizenship in our nation means to you. How much would you
have to be paid to renounce your U.S. citizenship and leave our
country? Is it priceless? Is it worth $100,000 as some have
calculated as a market valuation?

Regardless of the price you assign, ask yourself why our nation is
so willing to freely give out its most treasured designation:
citizenship. If it's worth $100,000, which I consider to be a
reasonable estimate, why should our government essentially give a
$100,000 check to reward any pregnant illegal alien willing to
illegally enter our country and have her baby at taxpayer expense.
She should instead be encouraged to stay safely home in her own
country and give birth to her child in her own country at either
her expense or her nation's expense.

Consider the examples of other countries and how closely they guard
their citizenship. If you were to move to Japan, China or Russia,
you could be considered as living in that nation, but you would
never become a Japanese, Chinese or Russian. If you moved to
Mexico, at a minimum you have to own land there to become a
citizen. Yet all a pregnant illegal alien has to do to have an
"American" baby is to flaunt our border security and laws, show up
at a free U.S. emergency room after her water breaks, and her child
is immediately guaranteed U.S. citizenship for life.

Berman wishes to stop this nonsense. He wants citizenship in our
state and nation to be valued and protected. He deserves our support.

I have felt this way for years. I do not believe the Constitution ever intended for a person here illegally to be granted anything. The illegal immigrant should be returned to their own country and they should not receive any benefit for breaking our laws. Giving birth in this country should not provide citizenship to an illegal alien. If the parents are illegals, then the offspring is illegal. Two wrongs do not make a right. In addition, the continuance of this kind of thinking will bankrupt our country and lead to overcrowding, poverty, crime, etc. Our elected officials must seal the border from illegal immigrants, return all illegal immigrants to their countries of origin and have people apply for immigration according to our laws. Any illegal immigrant here now with children - whether they were born here or not - are all illegals. This is the only way we are going to gain control of our country again and discourage illegals from coming here in droves.
It may come down to "We The People" ourselves sealing the border
You go Girl! HERE HERE to that!

Yes!! They SHOULD take "it" with them!! 'Cause it IS NOT our job nor our prob to care for "it."
You are darn right I will be supporting Rep. Berman. I have already sent him an e-mail and intend to call him plus send the article above to other congressmen in Texas, especially the sell outs working for the Mexican government. I am sick of this invasion and it needs to stop. In my opinion, we are at war with Mexico.
We should fortify the borders like Omaha Beach was in Normandy. And let me be the first to volunteer to stand a watch!
