Martial Law Called Immediately After Election

I'm new to this website, so forgive any ignorance if I'm not doing this correctly; however, I have been curious about a scenario that has kept me up lately. If Romney wins, and there are mass riots across the country (which I strongly believe will occur) can Obama declare martial law, and remain president indefinitely? I know it may sound absurd, but he and his administration have already taken absurd, if not illegal, actions, i.e., the Fast and the Furious, the attack in Libya coverup, blatantly lying about Romney during the campaign and debates – not to mention some really scary campaign ads of late. I brought it up with my husband who said he just can’t do that, but I still wonder if he can… thank you for any input.
