Justice Department pressured former US attorney to bring cases against Trump enemies, Geoffrey Berman says.

Geoffrey Berman, who served 2 1/2 years as United States attorney for the Southern District of New York from 2018 to 2020, said the Justice Department pressured him and his office to pursue criminal cases against perceived enemies of former President Donald Trump, including former Secretary of State John Kerry. Remember these cases were against Deep State Operatives and Shadow Government operatives.

"I had never seen anything like that before," Berman told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos in his first interview about his new book, "Holding the Line: Inside the Nation's Preeminent US Attorney's Office and its Battle with the Trump Justice Department." "People who had been in the office for 40 years never saw anything like that. It was unprecedented and scary." That is pure propaganda to shift the narrative to the Lefts/NWO viewpoint. Every President Like FDR, Truman, Kennedy, Clinton, Obama, Biden has had or haves an enemies list they pursue without consequences to themselves or their party. Even to the extent that knowledge if basically under reported or not reported at all if it's Democrats doing it.

Berman said his office was urged to bring charges against Kerry for violations of the Logan Act -- which makes it illegal for U.S. citizens to take part in unauthorized foreign diplomacy -- over Kerry's discussions about the Iran nuclear agreement.

"That was truly outrageous," Berman said.

No charges were ever brought against Kerry. What Kerry did was actually a violation of the Logan Act which is "The Logan Act (18 U.S.C.A. § 953 [1948]) is a single federal statute making it a crime for a citizen to confer with foreign governments against the interests of the United States. Specifically, it prohibits citizens from negotiating with other nations on behalf of the United States without authorization."

Kerry did not have any governent authorization to do what he did. I believe he only got off because of his position being protected by powerful hidden powers squashing any criminal action against him.

"Kerry engaged in possible illegal conversations with Iranian officials regarding the Iran nuclear deal. The very next day, the Trump Justice Department refers the John Kerry criminal case to the Southern District of New York. Two tweets by the president and the John Kerry criminal case becomes a priority," Berman said." Realizing the gravity of the nuclear deal being negotiated, Kerry's involvement was a direct violation of the type of situation Logan Act was created to stop. Additionally the Democrats used the Logan Act against Gen. Flynn to destroy him.

Remember the letter (House Democrats on the Oversight and Government Reform committee Monday sent a letter to chairman Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah) from Democrats, citing media reports, says Flynn “secretly discussed with the Russian ambassador, in possible violation of the Logan Act, sanctions imposed by President Obama.” The difference between Flynn's actions and Kerry's actions was, Flynn was the National Security Advisor for Trump, Kerry was not Obama's National Security Advisor, Susan Rice was. Then Democrats have always wanted it both ways for their benefit. Not mentioning their complaint was based solely on controlled MSM reports.

At the time of the complaint, former Deputy Assistant Attorney General Tom Dupree Jr. told ABC News, “Like many federal criminal laws, this statute is drafted exceedingly broadly. Unlike other criminal laws, you don’t have a rich body judicial precedent to narrow the scope of the law. All that said, I think a Logan Act prosecution would likely face serious constitutional difficulties.” Phillip Holloway, a legal analyst and former constitutional law adjunct professor, elaborated; Even hypothetically, Holloway said he “could not stand in court and make the argument that that Flynn is a private person” because Flynn was an official member of the Trump transition team and national security adviser appointee at the time of his conversations with Kislyak.

University of Texas law professor Stephen Vladeck said, “It’s not clear to me that a member of the transition team like Gen. Flynn is even violating the Logan Act in so far it’s not clear that he’s acting ‘without the authority of the United States.’”

So, why does the Logan Act keep coming up? “It’s an easy branch to reach for if you’re trying to criticize a political opponent on more than just policy grounds,” Vladeck said.

Consider this; Geoffrey Berman, the former U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York fired by President Donald Trump, told House lawmakers on Thursday that Attorney General Bill Barr repeatedly asked him to resign in a private meeting before his removal, and warned that his firing could damage his reputation. and this;

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., told reporters that Berman "would not speculate on the Attorney General's motive" for seeking to remove him, but that he "made clear that his leaving would disrupt certain sensitive cases."

 "We don't know yet if the attorney general's conduct was criminal, but that kind of quid pro quo gets awfully close to bribery," Nadler said. The more you dig into the background of this testimony by Berman the more you see SOUR GRAPES from a person who was fired from his position, and a political hit job of opportunity in an attempt to discredit Trump.
