"Pandemic Panic" Is Really A Constitutional Crisis

The pandemic is NOT about a disease! It is about politically "weaponizing" a disease by putting politicians in charge of medicine and doctors in charge of policy.

The REAL issue is CONSTITUTIONAL and NO ONE is talking about it!

Since when can governors "suspend" the Bill of Rights in the name of an "emergency" that they, alone, get to define? Since when can governors openly ignore and violate the First Amendment, putting citizens under "house arrest" and telling churches they cannot hold services unless "allowed and approved" by the State? Since when can governors (and even mayors) order citizens NOT to freely assemble with whomever, wherever, whenever, and however desired? Since when did Americans become so weak-kneed and timid that they willingly go along with having their constitutional rights taken away?

If allowed to stand, when can politicians NOT suspend the Constitution whenever they like simply by declaring anything and everything to be an "emergency" and making the Constitution a "Paper Tiger", good for nothing beyond wall décor?

The above BEGS another question. Since when did businesses become so compliant to the whims of State Tyranny that they willingly and submissively accede to having their businesses destroyed and their employees bankrupted?

In turn, this begs yet another question. WHERE ARE ALL THOSE "DEFENDERS" OF THE CONSTITUTION, BANDING TOGETHER TO FIGHT TYRANNY?!

WHERE ARE ALL THE CONSTITUTIONAL ATTORNEYS RISING UP, GOING TO FEDERAL COURT, SEEKING RESTRAINING ORDERS, CITING THE CONSTITUTION AS THE SUPREME LAW OF THE LAND, NOT TO BE SUBORNED FOR ANY REASON, LET ALONE IN THE NAME OF A STATE-DECLARED AND STATE-DEFINED "EMERGENCY"?!

ARE THEY, TOO, JUST PAPER TIGERS?

Why is it that, throughout history, "When the going gets tough, the tough get going"? Why is it that, throughout history, when the sh-- is about to hit the fan, those vaunted, self-appointed, self-anointed "guardians" of freedom are nowhere to be found, safely ensconced inside their gated enclaves, and it ALWAYS falls to We The People, torches and pitchforks in hand, to right the Ship of State? Why is that?

America has fought through many emergencies and has always survived, thanks EXCLUSIVELY to us "Dirty, Little People" while our "leaders" spew mindless blather, urging us to fight for them while they NEVER fight for us.

What makes this "emergency" so special that the Constitution must be destroyed? Why am I always reminded of the officer in Vietnam who said, "We had to destroy the village in order to save it"?

Why am I AMAZED that people are SOOO willing to surrender EVERYTHING they have worked for all their lives just because some politician says so?

Why do Benjamin Franklin's words keep ringing in my ears, "They that would surrender a little bit of freedom for a little bit of security will soon find they have neither freedom nor security"?

Why does what Nathan Hale said on the gallows also keep ringing in my ears, "Is life so dear and peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of freedom?! I know NOT what others may choose, but as for me, GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH!"

Well said Oren, well said. I truly hope we have not shifted the Paradigm and voluntarily given up everything because of fear over a "Flu Bug". It also speaks to what the elites behind this travesty are willing to do to get rid of Trump and his exposing them daily for what they are doing. Seems like it's nothing to them to destroy the Worlds economy to achieve that goal. Time will tell if we are able to resurrect our belief in Freedom quickly enough to fight back effectively.

Thanks.  Hopefully, others will take action and openly resist this Democrat sponsored gubernatorial assault on the Constitution.

In Michigan, five businesses have filed suit against the governor for exactly the reasons I laid out in my Discussion.

I do not own a business, but if I did I would open up in defiance of the governor.  I could either face an illegal fine or watch my business go belly-up.  Same difference.

Why others cannot or will not understand the gravity of the situation is beyond me.

Also, we all want to support the police whenever possible.  As a retired cop, I appreciate that public support.  But, when the police become agents of State oppression, my support stops.  Every law enforcement officer takes an oath to support the Constitutions of their State and the United States.  Sometimes officers have to choose whether to blindly obey unconstitutional orders or honor their oaths.  Sadly, we are seeing an increasing number of stories of officers making the wrong choice and mindlessly violating the constitutional rights of citizens.  

As the opening to the book said, "It was the best of times; it was the worst of times".
