NEWT GINGRICH SIZZLES ON “THE HAYDEN COLLINS RADIO PROGRAM”
Calls for a new “Contract with America” and eliminating the “Super Committee”

Calling into Hayden Collins’ weekly radio show from the Georgia Republican Party’s annual fish fry event and straw poll at the Georgia National Fairgrounds today was 2012 presidential candidate Newt Gingrich

Gingrich, who represented Georgia’s 6th congressional district from 1979 to 1999, told Collins he was enjoying the fish fry event with friends from all over the state, and listening to what matters to them.

Gingrich voiced concerns about the debt “Super Committee,” saying it’s a bad idea to have the crucial task of federal budget reduction delegated to only twelve members – asking if the 97% of Americans whose elected officials are not represented on that committee should pay no taxes –

and calling instead for all 217 congressional sub-committees to work to find the needed savings and re-start the country’s economy.  Gingrich also urged listeners to call their members of Congress to repeal the 2010 Dodd-Frank Act and support the recently-introduced Webb-Warner energy bill.  Gingrich agreed with Collins that every proposal from the “Super Committee” should be televised and posted on the internet.

Gingrich stated that next year’s election will be the most important one since 1860, and called for leadership now and not just in 2012, with a focus on energy and jobs, repealing the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (known as ObamaCare) and mentioned a second “Contract With America.”  Gingrich encouraged listeners to visit his campaign web site at www.newt.org for more information.

Hayden Collins’ Saturday radio program, broadcast on WYXC 1270 AM in Bartow County, features political commentary with a North Georgia sense of humor, and Gingrich thanked Collins for the chance to report in.
