In mid-September, violent al Qaeda-related uprisings occurred in Egypt and Libya, the latter taking the lives of four Americans.

In light of this tragedy, it is time for our government to reconsider our foreign aid expenditures: it is time for the American people to demand the U.S. Government to end all foreign aid to non-allied nations altogether, and review the funds pledged to allies.

Egypt is currently a Middle East ally of the United States; however, considering recent events, we must call our government to discontinue all aid to Egypt until they hand-over the aggressors responsible for the attack on our embassy.

Libya has historically not  been an ally of the United States and should therefore receive zero aid on that basis alone. If Libya has since become an "undeclared" ally, due to recent U.S. intervention into that country, they must also be prohibited from receiving foreign aid dollars for the same reason as Egypt.

Again, all U.S. foreign aid to Egypt and Libya must cease. America should never reward nations who are allied -- formally or informally -- with our enemies.

If we do not act and demand our elected servants to cut foreign aid spending, these two countries alone will  have received $3,117,850,000.00 U.S. Dollars by this year's end!

The United States has no business spending such an exorbitant amount of money on these nations -- we are deeply in debt and simply cannot afford it. (Keep in mind that the government will be forced to pay its debts; it will inflate, borrow, or tax its way "through" them.)

Senator Rand Paul has been a champion in calling the U.S. Government to reevaluate its reckless spending overseas. Though his bill S. 3576 failed, he has committed to continue to his push to curb U.S. Aid:

“When nearly 80 percent of Americans believe foreign aid should be reduced – especially to countries that are not our allies – it is inconceivable why their views are ignored by so many in Congress. I am far from defeated on this; I will continue to fight for this issue when Congress returns, and I will continue to call attention to the billions of American dollars – borrowed from China, among other places – being sent to governments that are not willing to respect and protect our interests overseas."

Now is not the time to give up on our efforts to cut foreign aid expenditures -- it is time to push harder than ever.

Take Action with Conservative Action Alerts and sign and send your petition to Congress demanding we END all foreign aid to non-allies, RE-EVALUATE foreign aid to allies, and PROHIBIT Egypt-Libya foreign aid, until they cooperate with the United States.
