Former secretary of State Henry Kissinger will meet with Donald TrumpTuesday, according to pool reports.

Kissinger, who served under Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, met with Trump after he won the presidency and earlier during the campaign.

Kissinger also met with China's Xi Jinping on Friday, which some saw as an attempt to ease concerns there about the incoming Trump administration.

The meeting came as Trump took a phone call with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen, a move that could cause friction between the U.S. and China.

On Monday, Trump also met with Robert McFarland, who served as Ronald Reagan's national security adviser from 1983 to 1985.

Jason Miller, Trump's transition spokesman, told the pool McFarland had a "great discussion with the president-elect’s national security team."

These meetings are setting a multi faceted approach on the various issues facing our country and the world around us.

What I have been witnessing is the uproar that things aren't being done the the way it was done before, or not done in the past....there are steps, and rules and this and that by the press, and sad and nasty politicians that if all things things have worked before.... why the hell are things so crappy and this country has sh*t thrown at them by countries that feed sh*t to their citizens because that is all they have to offer!!!!!

Give me a break.... Kissinger has a most unique base understanding of the foundation of US- China relations from the awakening of this now economic giant.  He knows where all the sweet meat is buried and comes from the old guard that once dominated but has eased for interesting reasons, yet self serving nonetheless.

I have a practice of grabbing a roll of craft paper, and the topic my family and I are talking or considering Up Top and Center, what follows are rows listed as PRO.... CON.... Commonalty  cost.... and what is the outcome we are looking for....

cost... benefit.... fun....educational... necessary....

WE ARE DOING BIG TICKET ITEMS NOW...... TWO in fact: College and purchasing a car for our daughter in spring....

much to look at and consider and talking to friends and neighbors of their similar experience's is a start....on line review of safety reports and recalls of makes and models and then look at safety reports and police reports and events on the happenings of campuses near our home.....

TRUMP IS DOING THE SAME.

MSM is going off half cocked and is loosing blood pressure because they are no longer relevant..... they are not the end all to be all....use TWITTER, iNSTGRAM...and others....

Once President.... one Twitter mind the tone by all means....and the New Press Secretary will have quite a job to take the Kissinger visit and that of Gore for example.....and break it down in snowflake talk.....offer the press to submit their questions and statements in addressing those questions may come in later.  A few years of this will hopefully bring back a wee bit of professionalism...and with Kissinger, Gore and who the heck decides to accept the invitation or expresses a chance to be heard..... I say..... COOL BEANS>>>> AND CHILL OUT...

Great to hear from you! Merry Christmas!

Nice to hear from you..I am sure you are happy with Trump`s win.

unfortunately Kissinger is nearly 50 years behind the times in understanding the views of China's leadership but it certainly is wise for Trump to get his input so he can contrast old history with real time knowledge.

Since history is no longer taught and internalized, it's unsurprising that virtually all the journo/politico weenies don't know their ass from their elbow when it comes to world affairs. Reflect on China and Russia a moment.
It's blithely asserted that we need to tread softly and speak in muted tones when dealing w/these behemoths. Really? Sez who?
China, thousands of years old, has never been a world power. either economically, militarily or politically.
Not ever! It's most notable character trait over its long and turbulent history has been its compulsive introversion. Consider.
In the decade commencing in 1931, it's neighbor Japan, 1/25th the size of China tore the latter apart numerous times.
As for Russia, other than a series of victories over Germany in the 1941-45 period, Russia's battlefield record is one of chronic and overwhelming defeat followed by internal catastrophe; be it Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden, John Churchill, the Duke of Marlboro, Napoleon, the British in the Crimea, the Japanese in the Straights of Tsushima, Von Hindenburg at Tannenburg in 1914, Finland in 1940; among other colossal trashings.
History's message is direct and simple. Neither of these entities need be feared; a reality Trump knows.

There you go with thet book learnin again TVC!

Best kind. Charles.

TVC history teaches even those that have made mistakes or failed in the past....recent examples of progress made by both Russia and China need only to look back to the Korean War and the Vietnam wars. It took two new incoming US presidents (Eisenhower and Nixon) to realize we had no winning plan going up against either one of these adversaries and they quickly determined how to end the wars. As we fast forward to today's technology America's gap in strength to these two powers has widen dramatically. Trump will soon learn this or we will all pay the price.
