Why does the U.S. think gun ownership is an inalienable right given that literally all of the developed world doesn't feel the same way?

Because the right of self defense is an inalienable right, and that right, to be effective, demands access to the means of self defense.

Frankly, the people of the rest of the developed world are largely sheep, awaiting or in the process of either shearing at the hands of their masters or the teeth of the wolf. Why, in the name of the Great Purple-suited Elvis, should what sheep think have any bearing on what we think (let alone how we wrote the Constitution on which the US was founded) ? How can the ignorant opinions of sheep have any bearing whatsoever on what is true ?

You can see in Venezuela now the helplessness and suffering of the disarmed sheep before a totalitarian government competent only in corruption, but which has a monopoly on arms.

No, thank you; let the sheep of the rest of the developed world bleat away to their heart’s content. It has no importance to us.
