Citizens Dedicated To Preserving Our Constitutional Republic

A Sample Letter To Congressional Democrats With A Copy To Republicans

 Senator/Congressman________________,
Lately, the Democratic Party seems to have shifted to an extremely hard Left viewpoint I/We don't approve of. There is more fighting than compromising with the public being the end Losers. Our Debt stands at over $14 Trillion Dollars, and that is Totally Unacceptable.  If the Party keeps on it's course it will hopefully self destruct. Most of the environmental problems have been overrated by untrained people who have over reacted, and cost Your State Name Here and the United States too many jobs and has increased taxes unnecessarily. Ever since the Administration of President Jimmy Carter we have become more dependent on imported energy every year. That too is Unacceptable.

If you want to truly help restore the economy of Your State and the United States we need to get back to utilizing our own Natural Resources and 'Concurrently Develop Alternate forms of Energy'. With the current technology we can use every conventional form of energy at our disposal without increasing the carbon footprint and we can build safer Nuclear Reactors than the ones now in existence. Over the last fifty years the Navy has not had any problems with safe dependable Nuclear Energy in it's Fleet. If we would tap our Oil, Coal, and Natural Gas Resources and utilize them to the maximum we would still have around 200 years before they ran out maybe even more. The resulting drop in cost of energy would be dramatic. Some have even estimated it to drop the cost of a barrel of oil to under $30.00. think of what a boost to our industry that would be, since the majority of imported oil just funds our enemies and is used in industry more so than as gasoline or diesel fuel.

A Specific Question: Think about everything America has lost, because of embracing an Unrealistic, Jobs Destroying, Energy and Environmental Policy. For example, think of the extra carbon footprint released unnecessarily by creating ethanol from corn as well and the energy used to transport and manufacture it from the raw materials, through to the end product. Consider how it would bring back many manufacturing jobs to the United States, and concurrently to Your State, with cheap energy costs. It looks like what the Right is saying about the Left is true, since the great majority of programs and decisions championed by the Democrats have led to the loss of jobs overseas. I cite the NAFTA FIASCO for many losses, and that was pushed and approved by primarily the Democratic Party.

I ask you another specific question: Why not clean up all the Tax Code by instituting a Flat Rate Tax with absolutely no exemptions, and repealing all other income tax codes? It could be rated at  10% for individual income tax, 12% Small Business Tax, and 15% for Corporate tax with the stipulation that every dollar that passes through is taxed either for Personal Income, Small Business Actual Profits or Actual Corporate Profits. Profits being defined as the actual difference between; Money actually Spent to run the business, from the Money taken in by actual sales by the Business. No exceptions! It would also apply to the money paid to anyone in dividends at the 10% rate and the difference in Cost vs Sale for profits of Stocks, Bonds, or other Investments including Real Estate Sales at the same rate of 10%. It would be a far fairer system than the one now in existence. It would also eliminate the Capital Gain and Loss system and allow for a truer Capitalistic Economy with known expenses to investors.

While I am at it, I ask you:  Why can't the Federal Government simply make a 5% cut on every Government Department and Program and every Government Outlay including the ones that are set up to self regenerate funding? The 5% cuts to be made every two years until the budget Debt is completely paid off.

Like a clear Majority of Americans, I am for a Constitutional Amendment Mandating Congress to have a balanced budget, without increasing taxes, unless any of these things occur.
1. We are attacked and must go to war, and then Congress would be mandated to pay part of the cost by selling war bonds with a fixed rate of return and cap on total interest payable on the bond, and not redeemable until ten years after the issue date.
2. A Permanent Tax Increase is voted on and approved by the public, in the year prior to it being implemented and that year being an Election year for the implementation.
3. A Public Debate about the necessity due to some unforeseen circumstances requiring an increase in taxes by a maximum of 10% of the Existing Existing Tax Rate. Example 10% existing tax rate could only be raised to 11% tax rate. The Public Debate Required by Law ( included in the Constitutional Balanced Budget Amendment) in the Election Year and must be concluded within that year two  months before the election by law, with the stipulation that the tax rate is to return to the prior tax rate within one year, IF Congress deems it necessary to increase taxes "without" a public vote.
4. I would also agree to a National Sales Tax at the fixed rate of 1% of sale of anything Collected by the States and split 50/50 between the States and Federal Government with the 1% rate to remain and not to be increased unless the tax was repealed for a year first, and then the public voted to allow a new tax at a higher rate.

I do expect specific answers to my specific questions, not a form letter in response.

Respectfully,
Mr. & Mrs. Your name/names here.
