Disappointed in Election Results, but Ready to Serve

Although it has taken several days to get a grasp on what happened on November 4th, I know that it is time to move on and get back to supporting this great country of ours. Mike Huckabee said it best: "The campaign is over and now is the time for governing and leading. The Republican Party must now reassess where it is and where it is going. Our problem is not that our views aren't acceptable, is that many in our party have abandoned the very principles that once drew Americans to trust us. Our party will be back with strength, but tonight we should all celebrate the historic nature of this election and put our country ahead of our party."

And as a Christian, I will continue to pray for America and lift up President-Elect Obama to God for His direction and guidance. As Joel Rosenberg said, "I know that many of you are very worried about the direction of our country. I certainly understand this sentiment, let us not lose heart. THE LORD KNEW WHO WOULD WIN. He allowed it to happen. He has a plan. He has a purpose. And now He is calling us to serve Him faithfully--to do whatever He tells us to do, to go wherever He telss us to go, to say whatever He tells us to say. Now is the time to draw close to Christ, to advance His kingdom, and prepare for His return. He is afterall, the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Now is certainly no time to forget or to be discouraged."

"Today, Heavenly Father, we ask that You would empower our new President to revere You, putting aside all pride and self-centeredness as he acknowledges who You are and what You wish to accomplish through him. Show him that for him to be honored, he must humble himself before You and be taught by Your voice and by Your Word. As he does this, Lord, give him confidence that, as he trusts in You, You will equip him to meet the challenges of his high calling as President of the United States. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen."

He is not yet our President. Sad but true, many Americans are not willing to "roll over" for the next four years just yet. Barack has some work to do before he will be recognized as a legitimate American President. Pray for those of us who are still about that work. I believe that GOD is testing us. We must EARN the Blessings bestowed. Each generation has had their test. I believe Barack is our generation's test.
