Live Action's Lila Rose About to Expose Planned Parenthood Inovlvement in Sex Trafficking?

On Monday a story in the Washington Post claimed that Planned Parenthood's vice president for communications, Stuart Schear, told the Associated Press that Planned Parenthood had requested an FBI probe of a man who has frequented Planned Parenthood clinics "purporting to be a sex trafficker but who may instead be part of an atempted ruse to entrap clinic employees."

This is the Link to that article in the Washington Post.

While the AP story apparently presents both sides, the title of the article slants the story as if Live Action has been caught doing something wrong or illegal: "AP Exclusive: Planned Parenthood seeks FBI probe."
The headline is followed by a statement that Planned Parenthood nofitied the FBI that "at least 12 of its health centers were visited recently by a man purporting to be a sex trafficker but who may instead be part of an attempted ruse to entrap clinic employees."

And., while the article by Associated Press reporter David Crary slants toward Planned Parenthood's "discovery" of someone apparently entrapping the agency's personnel, and indicates that the suspected individual has allegedly been found to be associated with the Pro-Life advocate LiveAction.Org, it is revealed near the end of the article that Live Action's founder, Lila Rose commented to the Associated Press that an undercover operation "of some sort was in the works."

"...Lila Rose, Live Action's founder and president, described Planned Parenthood's assertion as 'very interesting.'  She declined to confirm or deny that the clinic visits were part of a Live Action operation, but did indicate in a telephone interview that an undercover videotape project of some sort was in the works...'The story that speaks loudest will be in the evidence," she said. "I can't comment until we release the visual evidence'..."

The article confirms that:

"...Last week, Planned Parenthood Federation of America president Cecile Richards wrote to Attorney General Eric Holder summarizing the visits and requesting an FBI investigation. If the man's assertions were true, she wrote, they would indicate possible violations of federal laws dealing with interstate sex trafficking of minors..."

Because (according to the article) the man's assertions involved sex trafficking Planned Parenthood must report the incident to the proper authorities, and indeed the article also claimed that local police had been informed.

But the article also quotes Richards saying that "...the visits could be part of a hoax resembling some past actions by anti-abortion activists...'Once inside, these people have recorded `undercover' videos of their conversations with our clinic staff and then selectively and maliciously edited the videos,' she wrote. 'This may be happening once again. If so, this kind of activity should be firmly condemned.'..."

Yet if what Lila Rose said is true, that some sort of an investigation is in the works, and that "evidence" will provide proof of Planned Parenthood involvement in illegal activity, one might ask:  "Is Planned Parenthood trying to cover-up illegal activity by pre-empting the Live Action investigation and requesting the FBI to intervene on its behalf?"

Live Action does have a history of infiltrating abortion agencies for the purpose of exposing illegal activity on the part of those agencies.  However, we could find no record of Live Action ever being found of doing anything illegal to obtain their information.  While their actions were done "undercover," the laws in the states where their investigations have occurred were not violated.

The article shows that the FBI, according to its spokeswoman Alisa Finelli, and spokesmen in Washington and Arizona, could not comment on whether they had opened an investigation into the Planned Parenthood allegations, and the article states that  Planned Parenthood's vice president for communications, Stuart Schear said "there had been some preliminary contacts with the FBI, which was asking for information from the clinics that were visited."

No mention of what the Planned Parenthood employees might have said to the Live Action covert investigator was reported in the article.  Planned Parenthood spokespersons did not reveal by way of the report what the employees said to the investigator or what Planned Parenthood might be liable for as a result.

Nor was it confirmed in the article that Planned Parenthood had conducted its own investigation into what Live Action might allege, nor that it had investigated its staff for alleged wrong-doing.  It was, however,  reported that Planned Parenthood had investigated Live Action and had found that the individual in question to be connected to Live Action, but there was no indication that their own investigation into their own (Planned Parenthood) facilities had occurred.

The FBI, ostensibly, would be looking into the possibility of illegal sex-trafficking and possibly into any violations of privacy laws, which is within their scope and purview.

However, if Lila Rose's information exposes Planned Parenthood wrongdoing, it may also bring to light an attempt by Planned Parenthood not just to cover-up that wrongdoing, but possibly using the FBI to assist them in doing so, if only by enlisting its help and possibly seeking to intimidate Live Action by doing so.
