Citizens Dedicated To Preserving Our Constitutional Republic

Tea Parties a Huge Success! But

Well, the tax day tea parties all across the country were a big success. They brought true focus on the effects that out-of-control taxing and spending will certainly have on our country and our heirs in the future. Left unchecked, these ruinous fiscal policies will most assuredly bankrupt America and reduce us to ‘banana republic’ status.

The Tea Parties were a good start but let’s not lose our focus! The American Republic is going to the source of the problem, and that is the US Congress who is letting it happen. Always keep in mind that none of this is happening to America if the Congress is doing their due diligence and looking out for the People, instead of constantly serving their own gluttonous self-interest.

Article I, Section 8 of the US Constitution states in part that, “The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States; To borrow Money on the credit of the United States; To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof…..”.

As if that wasn’t enough, Article I, Section 9 states in part that, “No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law; and a regular Statement and Account of the Receipts and Expenditures of all public Money shall be published from time to time.” Now we all know that the Congress approved it, but no one is saying where it all went. Isn’t that interesting? It is also massively arrogant and insulting!

Simply put, the looming fiscal disaster is their fault because Congress has the power to tax, to spend, and to regulate the currency, including the Federal Reserve System, and they have failed abjectly in their Constitutional duties. In fact, the institution of the US Congress has failed the American People in just about every way imaginable. It is time to make a fundamental Constitutional change by adding TERM LIMITS for the US Congress!
