Honor Your Oath!

An Open Letter to the Service members and all of those who Pledged Allegiance to these United States of America!

Written by an American Service member.

“Duty, then is the sublimest word in our language. Do your duty in all things. You cannot do more, you should never wish to do less.” - General Robert E. Lee

Every oath administered at every enlistment, commissioning, and promotion across all branches of military service begins with the individual swearing or affirming to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies foreign and domestic and ... [to] bear true faith and allegiance to the same.” Should our country and government fall under attack from foreign armies, there is no question that we will defend this country and our Constitution to our last. But what should be the proper course of action for the service members of these united States when our Constitution is threatened from within, by those who themselves have taken a nearly identical solemn oath to support and defend (or preserve, protect, and defend in the case of the President) the very document they usurp? The answer to this quotidian question, it would seem, is not self-evident when one considers the near silence of our military personnel.

When elected officials, regardless of political affiliation, whether Representative, Senator, or President, repeatedly defy the Constitution by legislating on and regulating all aspects of American life, commerce, privacy, and health in direct defiance of the limited scope to which the Constitution binds them (see Article I, Section 8), what recourse is available to the service members bound by their oath? What options remain when repeated written and oral petitions for redress of grievances addressed to these officials are answered only by repeated injury? How many petitions of this nature must be ignored before American service members and civilians alike finally muster the courage to ask such questions?

Some may say that the service member’s duty is to maintain the status quo and remain silent, declaring that it would be unwise or unprofessional for military men and women to opine on political matters. However, these matters are not of a partisan nature. The nature of addressing unconstitutional advances, rather, is that of a service member fulfilling his sworn duty and at stake is the nature of the relationship between the federal government and the people and States.

It is also perhaps not surprising that our service members largely have remained silent considering the dearth of education pertaining to the Constitution military personnel and Americans at large receive. Is this willfully negligent or is it another effort to abstain from appearing partisan? Is this negligence to teach the Constitution sufficient to relieve the service member of his sworn duty to support and defend our governing document? Certainly not! Ignorance in this case is a terrible shame but is no excuse. The ethical responsibility is on the individual service member to fully understand his sworn oath and it falls equally on his leadership to ensure comprehension of and adherence to the oath.

If the service member duty to support and defend the Constitution persists, again what recourse is available? Seeking to engage fellow service members in discussions about Constitutional authority for current legislation has the potential of yielding sarcasm, indifference, or being labeled a domestic terrorist threat. The time has sadly arrived where service members who have sworn to support and defend the Constitution are marginalized for voicing their concerns that our governing document is being metaphorically shredded.

So again, what remains for the service member who sincerely holds himself accountable to his oath when he finds his fellow service members and elected officials to be guilty of neglecting their own? Should he remove himself from military service? Should he abandon his sworn duty because so many others find the implications of supporting that oath an uncomfortable or unacceptable option? Common sense and an obligation to honor tell us that to do so would be absurd. Rather, it is the duty of the individual service member to continually and emphatically advocate the long-forgotten notion that the federal government abide by the law of the land. To that end, let this letter serve as a call to all those who have raised their right hand, often invoking divine assistance, to reexamine their willingness to abide by their oath and to accept its full weight and responsibility. This inevitably will yield only two options: deciding to dutifully act in full accord with the oath, thereby truly supporting and defending the Constitution, or deciding to depart military service. Any other option would be a dereliction of duty.

THIS IS MY REPLY TO THE ABOVE ...

TO ALL SERVICE MEMBERS---HONOR YOUR OATH!!!
As a young man of 18 years and upon graduation from high school, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on 3 June 1952 and was "sworn in", that is, with my right hand raised, administered the "U.S. Armed Forces Oath Of Enlistment" in Kansas City, Missouri. The Korean War was in progress, which began in 1950, just 5 years after the end of WWII (Pacific Theater). The patriotic spirit of all American citizens was still on the high level of that of WWII, the love for God, the USA and freedom ... in that order!

Even though I've been retired from the United States Marine Corps for 25 years and will soon be 77 years old, I am and always will be, until the day I die, accountable, bound and true to the "U.S. Armed Forces Oath Of Enlistment" that I solemnly took over 57 years ago and upon each reenlistment. As God is my witness, I will continue to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies foreign and domestic and ... [to] bear true faith and allegiance to the same.”

The time is rapidly approaching for the U.S. Military, U.S. Military Veterans, Police Dept's, Fire Dept's etc to "DRAW A LINE IN THE SAND"! To decide if they will honor the "sworn oath" they were administered "to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC and ... [to] bear true faith and allegiance to the same.” ....... Are you prepared to “support and defend the UNALTERED Constitution of the United States of America against all DOMESTIC enemies?!?" Which side of that "LINE IN THE SAND" will you be on?!?!

For myself the answer is simple, it's a no brainer ...!

The United States Marine Corps Motto is "Semper Fidelis", meaning "Always Faithful"!

That means "Always Faithful" to "God, Country & the United States Marine Corps"!

The last I heard, the country we live in, is the United States of America, the greatest CHRISTAIN AND JUDAISM country in the world and is governed by the U.S. Constitution!

In spite of the EVIL Muslim communist, USURPER, barack hussein obama, his EVIL wife Michelle obama, the so called U.S. Congress and SCOTUS .....
We will TAKE BACK America, Christianity, Judaism, the U.S. Constitution, Capitalism and the freedom and way of life that many millions of us have fought and died for!

As the old WWII song goes, made very popular during WWII ... "We did it before and we can do it again, we can do it again, we can do it again!" and by the GRACE of GOD ALMIGHTY, our LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST, "we will do it again"!

As a Retired United States Marine, I refuse to live under any form of 'communism and or socialism' form of government! Be aware, I will fight to the death to ensure that the freedoms and way of life that so many of us have fought and died for are maintained! This not a threat, this is my First and Foremost promise to Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior and, those great American heroes who gave their all so that we could enjoy the good life, the freedoms and way of life that we had before this EVIL USURPER, barack hussein obama, came on the scene! Secondly, this is not a threat, this is my promise to this EVIL muslim communist, USURPER, barack hussein obama and all of his EVIL associates and henchmen!

THIS IS MY STATEMENT, I APPROVE OF THIS STATEMENT AND I'M STICKIN TO IT, SO HELP ME GOD!!

There are always ...
Too many Democratic congressmen,
Too many Republican congressmen,
And never enough U.S. Congressmen.

A United States Veteran is someone who,
At one point in his or her life,
Wrote a blank check made payable to,
"The People of the United States of America",
For an amount "...Up to and including my life."
