Citizens Dedicated To Preserving Our Constitutional Republic
Andrew Breitbart, many might say, was a human dynamo for the conservative cause; some say one of his biggest strengths was his ability to place his finger on the pulse of current events. Now, a video has resurfaced that shows just how prescient he was with his prediction that Marco Rubio could well be the Republican Party’s nominee for president. In 2011, Breitbart was on Univision and was asked about who he thinks might be an up-and-coming Republican about to appear on the radar. Of course, the question was premised on who might beat Barack Obama in the then upcoming 2012 election; but Breitbart went further than that, and what he said seems to mirror exactly what is going on right this minute in the GOP primary race. “I think that it’s going to be an amazing year,” Andrew said, “It’ll be like a reality show, like ‘Survivor’ or ‘American Idol,’ and they’re going to pound each other out, and, yes, I think that the strongest one will win. But let me tell you this, if Marco Rubio–even though he’s only been in the Senate for a very short period of time–that man has a huge, huge opportunity in this country and I think he could be the president. If not in this election cycle, certainly in 2016.” Now, if that doesn’t perfectly describe what is going on in the GOP primary race right now, what does? With Donald Trump in the race, Breitbart even got the “reality show” flavor right!
