Citizens Dedicated To Preserving Our Constitutional Republic

Here is a thought that maybe we should propose to the left. We do not allow anyone with a Middle East Bloodline to buy guns. The left would be caught in the middle . I would get along with that, but would the left be able to vote yes,.LOL ...Just a thought...What say you ?

I like that thought, but then it would interfere with the Constitution, 2ND Amendment  -  that is if that person(s) is a legal citizen.  What about if that person is a legal citizen, has lived here for years, then goes over to Syria, or Saudi Arabia, or some such - becomes radicalized and then comes back here. So I see where you are going, but again, what happens to the 2ND Amendment.  And what really happened with this couple. Was she the one - a non-citizen by birth, who worked her wiles on this man? Sure does leave a lot to be considered. And why when he left he didn't have a beard, when he came back he did. Another sign of a problem?

And one other issue - where will it stop - perhaps we next target Scandinavian bloodlines- boy you'd have me in arms about that.  Or Irish - and of course we have so many mixed bloodlines.  Where would it stop. With the Left around they'd find a way to exempt themselves, but cover all others.

you said it a lot nicer than I would Virginia.....either the 2nd has meaning or it dont

Virginia, did you forget that the First Gun Control Law was the "Sullivan Law" in NYC that put restrictions on guns (a may issue permit was needed) carried by the public, and was aimed primarily at the Irish?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sullivan_Act

"

The Sullivan Act is a gun control law in New York State that took effect in 1911. Upon first passage, the Sullivan Act required licenses for New Yorkers to possess firearms small enough to be concealed. Possession of such firearms without a license was a misdemeanor, and carrying them was a felony. The act was named for its primary legislative sponsor, state senator Timothy Sullivan, a notoriously corrupt Tammany Hall politician.

For handguns, the Sullivan Act qualifies as a may issue act, meaning the local police have discretion to issue a concealed carry license, as opposed to a shall issue act, in which state authorities must give a concealed handgun license to any person who satisfies specific criteria, often a background check and a safety class."

Tim Sullivan, the bill's sponsor was also a Democrat and;

"According to Richard F. Welch, who wrote a 2009 biography of Sullivan, "all the available evidence indicates that Tim's fight to bring firearms under control sprang from heartfelt conviction."[3] Sullivan's contemporaries disagreed with this assessment and saw the law as disarming lawful citizens or as a way for Sullivan to guarantee his bodyguards could be legally armed while using the law against his political opponents.[4] [1] Lawman Bat Masterson, a friend of Sullivan's, criticized the law as "obnoxious" and said that he questioned Sullivan's mental state of mind over the law. [2]"

M, Still the same problem - the 2ND Amendment. And no, I had no idea about Sullivan's law, but then I have never been in New York, either. So has it been destroyed by the Courts?  Now I'll have to look this up and study it.  By the way, for anyone who cares, I am not a scholar, never went to college (did some after work classes and have 60 credit - but that's it.) I only use my reading, listening, watching skills as best I can. Make lots of mistakes, but in all sincerity - I want this country of America to Be what the original founders hoped it would be. A place for those who wish for peace, for sharing with others, for working with others and protecting the family and homeland. Is there more, of course, but that would be personal preferences - that do not take away the rights, beliefs, of others. That is my belief and that is why I speak out here, on the street, with bumper stickers, letters to the editors, and to Congress - both Federal and State; And why I feel so strongly when I see where our country is headed.

I know that. That is why the LOL in my post. I would truly not want to compromise the 2nd in any way . but it was a thought  I had.

On Tuesday, President Obama stunned Americans and French alike with his false claims about gun violence in America. "I say this every time we’ve got one of these mass shootings. This just doesn’t happen in other countries,” claimed Obama. It is a claim that he has continually repeated over the years.

In just 2015, France suffered more casualties – killings and injuries – from mass public shootings than the U.S. has suffered during Obama’s entire presidency (508 to 424). This number includes the San Bernandino massacre on Wednesday.

What else would you expect from a Fanatical Anti-American President that has a long track record of outright LIES to the public to bolster his nefarious agendas?

Even though this site is a very Leaning Left site, it has the most complete collection of National laws and State Laws collected in one place for general knowledge. I find it a good resource when researching articles;.  http://smartgunlaws.org/about-gun-laws/

Even though I don't agree on their ideology that smart gun laws save lives

What gun law stops criminals from getting weapons?

President Obama’s refusal to use the term “radical Islamic terrorism” indicates that “there is something going on with him that we don’t know about,” Republican front-runner Donald Trump said Thursday, an ominous comment that echoed Trump’s history of questioning Obama’s birthplace and airing of false claims that he practices Islam.

M, thanks for that post. If anyone should be a legal carry and is a traveler, it's a must read.
