Lets Talk Rationally About Guns

This is a long one, but bear with me on it. It's both a Social Issue and a Gun Control issue.

The Obama Administration and all the gun control advocates are trying to make Americans believe that we are in an epidemic of gun violence and the United States is flooded with innocent blood. I'll leave that conclusion/observation to the discretion of the readers who have done the due diligence in fact checking. The latest polls show that Americans have been led to believe that violence has gone up believing  the 24 seven reporting on the subject making it look many times worse than it in reality is. In fact the perception is pure political spin and lies. In fact the US violence rate has actually been cut in half in the last twenty years. Consider this; In the last twenty years or so the restrictions on carry permits and open carry has increased along with the decrease in gun violence, I would think there is a direct correlation there.

 

The United States homicide rate is higher than some countries in Europe and Japan, but the size and complex issues differ greatly as does the size of the nations that the gun grabbers cite to blame private ownership of guns for the difference in violence and crime. To make it simple, While the private ownership of guns in America has doubled, crime and violence has been cut in half. That is the single most important fact the gun grabbers gloss over, ignore, and wish was not so. While it is too simplistic to claim that because more Americans are armed there is less violence, does not give the controlling advocates in the nanny government the right to lie about the facts and proffer the False Flag theory that more guns in the hands of citizens translates out to more violence. the Government agency statistics refute that claim.

 

When the President spouts off using emotional persuasion instead of logic and honest statistics about gun control and his personal dogma of more and stricter Draconian controls, his speeches contain portions pertaining to accidents and suicides seemingly out of control. In actuality firearm accidents are statically few and that can be attributed to the safety training and common sense. While 2/3 of all gun deaths are listed as suicides, some control advocates claim less guns would mean less suicides. Data gleaned from the International community indicate that is false also.

 

Now we get down to the crux of the emotional arguments from the Anti-Gun Clan. Take Bloombergs claims about gun violence. He actually includes criminals killed by police and he even declared the death of the Boston Marathon Bomber was a firearms homicide. then there are the mass shootings that trigger a panic response in most people and allow the gun grabbers to promote their agenda instead of rationally looking for ways that would lessen or remove the dangers. Remember, their way makes the innocents more of a targeted victim class than any other action. Gun Free Zones are by their very nature "Shooting Galleries" for the Twisted and Mentally Damaged person, with very little danger to themselves until they have accomplished the killings and notoriety they originally wanted to commit.

 

The actual largest problem has been skirted by the gun grabbers, and that is the problem of Criminals using Firearms. Granted that seems like an oxymoron,but it is the basic problem that needs to be addressed at all levels. This basically is a problem that is prosecutable on both the State and Federal Levels. At one time the NRA worked with Law enforcement in Richmond Virginia which at that time was Murder Central for the US. The hard line enforcement tactics used dropped the murder rate by 52% over a two year period. Ironically, the US Attorney who participated was severely criticized by Eric Holder who was Deputy Atty. General then. Today Felons and Criminals using firearms are rarely prosecuted by Federal Government even though the laws are still on the books. I speculate here and ask; Could this be to promote the Gun Grabbers Agendas and make it look like unless the Government severely restricts gun ownership we can do nothing? Remember those laws that reduced the homicides by 52% are still on the books but are NOT being enforced due to the agenda of government Anti-Gun Politicians and the Progressive Faction.

 

Here's a real kicker; Before Obama finalized his Executive Orders, it was suggested to him that US Prosecutors would again begin charging Criminals under the existing laws. Obama dropped that idea in favor of not targeting criminals but instead making it harder for law abiding citizens to buy firearms.

 

This brings us to the final idiocy the Federal Government has perpetrated on American Citizens. Mass shootings best personified by the shootings at Sandy Hook and the Washington Navy Yard. The perpetrators who committed these heinous crimes were not career criminals, they were severely mentally ill persons. However beefed up security and a common sense approach would in all probability have reduced the death toll of innocents to one or two had the restrictions banning the very means of self protection not been in place. Think of how many needless deaths of innocents could have been eliminated if our laws were based on actuality instead of political agenda and Law Abiding and Trained people were allowed to be armed to prevent such occurrences. 

 

The NRA trains instructors who in turn train Concealed Weapons Permit holders in law and proficiency of firearms as well as basic firearm safety procedures. What's so wrong about allowing Military Personnel who are trained and responsible volunteer School Officials to be armed on campus to meet any such threats? Even a stopgap procedure where teachers could be armed with tasers and tear gas could help to reduce the death toll of innocents. Of course they would have to get basic proficiency training and be capable of passing psych tests and legal training to insure they will be able to handle the stress of a situation. One way to help lessen the problem is to fix the mental health system and take it out from under political control, set up a clear set of standards that would need public support to change either stronger or weaker, and make it mandatory for States to put the most potentially dangerous people on the background check system that is already in place. 

 

I'll leave you with this, So far every State that has legalized and implemented Concealed Carry has seen a large drop in violent crime. Criminals and even most mentally ill people don't want to take a chance that they might be killed by one of their potential victims. Consider this allegory; even though there are a few, how many burglars will risk breaking into a residence with a vicious guard dog on premises?

 

Lets take this a step further and see what Obama's CDC study found and what is being suppressed by Obama and the Anti-Gun Factions;

2. Defensive uses of guns are common

3. Mass shootings and accidental firearm deaths account for a small fraction of gun-related deaths, and both are declining

4. “Interventions” (i.e, gun control) such as background checks, so-called assault rifle bans and gun-free zones produce “mixed” results

5. Gun buyback/turn-in programs are “ineffective” in reducing crime

Why has this Study by the CDC been ignored by;President Obama, Michael Bloomberg and the Brady Campaign and why have they remained silent? 

 

Another Leaning University, Harvard, has also made a study.

The Harvard study has totally refuted the Gun Control agenda. It has also been ignored since 2007 when it was conducted. Could the incoming Obama Anti-Gun administration been responsible for that? Read the whole article but basically it says Buy a gun people, and refutes Anti-Gun propaganda.

All of the aforementioned reasons make it clear to me if we don't make some changes in the Amendments to stop the Federal Behemoth, we will become just another Socialist Country and will revert to the status of Subjects once again to the Elites who want our Guns so they can control us easier without much danger to themselves or their minions.

The best way is to open a dialogue with them and use cold hard logic backed up by Facts and undeniable statistics straight from the Government's own files to refute the progressive Liberal Lies and Rhetoric. this would also mean we would have to give up some of our beliefs should they prove false too. Much out there is incorrect and needs to be straightened out publicly.

We will also have to listen to the other sides Beliefs and tell then our own beliefs then examine why we both feel that way.
