Will Iowa step up and hand Cruz a victory?

Polling data out of Iowa continues to point to a tight race and as we head to the first in the nation caucus all eyes will be on Trump or Cruz to pull out a win. If you ignore the national media and polls and look closely at the people of Iowa you see Cruz has a better chance then many expect.

Its clearly a must win for Cruz as the next primary in New Hampshire is far to liberal to give him much more then a second place finish. A forget the name of the man I say in a CNN interview but he has correctly called every Iowa caucus since he started calling them over the last 16 years and he stated that Cruz will win. Lets hope he remains on target.

A win in Iowa followed by a second place finish in NH should set Cruz up nicely for those super Tuesday primaries in the south. If Trump can be derailed it will be in the south as Cruz PAC adds and his personal advertising lets Trump in his own words describe NY vales to voters. The south is much more conservative then the rest of the country and this could change the dynamic in Cruses favor.

One thing is certain though, Cruz needs a win to insure the media cant paint Trump as the inevitable winner. We await Iowa and the choice they make for America.

God bless them all the fate of the republican party is in their hands.

I'm at halves, my husband has taken a dislike to Cruz - mostly because of the FOX thing. But he isn't enthralled with Trump either. Now he's vacillating on even voting. I'm telling him that I will choose Cruz, or Trump, though Rand Paul has been showing up well. To be honest, I'm worried about all of them - not against Hillary, but against America. Too much going on and too many talks about working with - you know what? The Dems don't work well with others and the GOP hasn't shown any gumption to stand firm.

And what really worries me - if they decide to throw Paul Ryan out there. NO!!

(by the way, we have now 8 cats, 4 kittens that are now full grown over 10 years. I like that picture too. We just got another kitten, now cat - name is T I G G ER (Winnie the Pooh.)  And he is a tiger - terrorizes all the others and us - but no claws, no biting. all of these cats were dumped in our area - and like the tramps of yester year, they must mark our home for freebies - cause they all showed up here. We adopted them when we couldn't find the owners.

You know, I sure hope that the new President will be GOP and will become a tiger - not another kitty.

If everything you just said is true. seem to me Cruz is the only one to vote for. No other candidate has taken on the republocrats. As to your husband hes a stand out in this election cycle. In past election cycles with a RINO heading the ticket I've heard similar sentiment but in this cycle everyone is excited to vote even people who skipped the last few presidential election cycles. Turnout here is going to be high on the right but the left is having issues. Its like the opposite of the McCain Obama cycle.

I will not vote in primary except for Rand Paul. If Trump or Cruz win I will vote for them in the general while holding my nose.I will not vote in general for Bush or,Cristie . And possibly not for Rubio.

Kevin if you like Rand Paul defiantly vote for him in the Primaries he has no chance of speaking at the convention if people don't. As to the final GOP candidate I too will vote for them regardless of who wins.

With McCain I stayed home and look where that got us. Never again

I said I will vote for Cruz Or Trump in general while holding my nose..That was wrong..I will hold my nose voting for Cruz..I will cross my fingers when i vote for Trump.

Not so much fooled as confused. Many conservatives seek the "purest" . Sadly purists can't carry the national vote. IMHO

You are wrong on that its the RINO that has proven to fail every time like Romney, McCain. Reagan was a purist and he won, GW Bush ran hard right and won, the media knows centrist candidates on the right cant win so they tell us we must put them up against democrats, it is the foolhardy that listen to the media for advice, they are all democrats,

Reagan was a purest , really . At what time in his life?

IMHO Trump is very much like Reagan.

Today we get the final Des Moines Register poll out of Iowa but be clear it is never accurate. Just the medias last chance to spin there hopefuls.

In the last cycle Santorum was trailing Romney by 9 points and was in 3rd place over all yet he won, even though they gave the win to Romney on election night by 9 votes, weeks later Santorum was announced the winner by over 30 votes.

Just a reminder of how bad polls are, they are done for talking points on the news to convince us all who we should vote for. NOT

The poll came out and it shows Trump support dropped, it also showed Rubio support going up but never before have I see a foot note in a poll that states Rubio's support is very soft and as many as 50% may vote for someone else. LOL the establishment must have paid for that poll. Go Cruz Go

That is why folks ignore polls.
