I still spend a couple of hours blogging after work. You'll hear a lot from me. Check out my blog. I had an article written up negatively about the "Tea Party" I organized in Fort Worth. I let him have it with both barrels. http://wethepeopleusa.ning.com/profile/MarkChristopherFrimmel
I saw your post on the Plan to Take Back the Country.
The 16th amendment should be repealed, with no provision for income tax on the people. Additionally, all confiscation of money from the people and payments to other people are not powers granted to the Federal Government in the original Constitution.
On the face of it, the Fair Tax seems better, we decide what we pay by the purchases we make. Current thinking is that the tax would be about 25 to 27 percent. Add that to state and local sales taxes, 9 percent where I live, an it is still 34 to 36 percent of income, less the cost of living credit. This is a savings, IF the FICA and Medicare deductions are removed along with the federal withholding/payroll tax.
Since there is no guaranty that the Fed sales tax rate will not increase. If this type tax does pass, what would prevent Congress from increasing the rate? I get the point of this type of tax: everyone pays, even illegals, criminals, wealthy with no net annual gains, etc.
Without reform of the multitude of Federal entitlement programs, ANY federal tax plan is just a different way for the giant federal financial vacuum to suck personal wealth from those who have money to re-distribute to those who do not.
Before this type of tax reform takes place, entitlement reform MUST take place and the Federal Government powers be restored to those enumerated in the original Constitution. Why should the people back this or any plan that continues to take from the "rich" (read - middle class) and give to those who will not work? What is the calculated needed Federal sales tax if Federal money giveaways, Foreign and Domestic are eliminated??
27 percent seems like an awful lot on annual Gross Domestic Purchases of nearly 15 TRILLION dollars in 2008.
Think about it..

However, as I clicked onto "groups", the explanation of each of several 'groups', I could not find where I can show my interest (signing-up) in 3 groups. I am not knowledgeable in computers, so I would appreciate your help.
Our group is soooo deluged with our efforts against illegal immigration here in NE Ohio. . . we neeed to concentrate on that mostly although I am all for the Fair Tax as well. We signed up at WTP to increase our numbers and be in touch about any potential mass rallies in our state!

My daughter and I were present at the Mike Huckabee rally here in Zanesville, OH when his wife Janet spoke on the Flat Tax. I'd be more than happy to help in any way I can. Dave.
This article was even better: HOUSE GOP OFFERS PLAN B:
I like the idea of tax cuts for small businesses.
