They say there are just two things a person needs to fix something — duct tape and WD-40. If it moves and shouldn’t, use duct tape. If it doesn’t move and should, use WD-40. Those wise words are pretty sure to do the trick. From removing gum on shoes or in hair and keeping squirrels away from bird feeders to defrosting windshields on cars.

Here Are 20 Little-Known Ways That WD-40 Can Change A Person’s Life.

While most people tend to think of WD-40 as an industrial product best used by handymen and machinists, the truth is that’s only part of how it can be used.

WD-40 actually has dozens of uses here are  20 more.

1. Polishing silver: If you have a collection of silver that always seems to be tarnishing over time, WD-40 can definitely help you out with that. Spray down your silver and wipe it clean. It’s just that easy to keep

your silver looking sparkly and new!

2. Cleaning shoes: When it comes to sneakers, WD-40 is a person’s absolute best friend. In the winter, you can remove stubborn rock salt spots that build up by spraying them and wiping them down. If you want to make your whole shoe waterproof, spray the entire surface with it.

3. Protecting bird feeders: While having a bird feeder in your yard is a great way to keep beautiful birds in plain view, squirrels are notorious for stealing seeds from them. To keep these critters away, spray down the center pole with WD-40 and the squirrels will slide right off.--- **** Ya think? ****

4. Cleaning toilets: Cleaning your toilet can feel like a pointless task. If you use WD-40 the same way you would use your regular toilet bowl cleaner, you’ll notice that it gets clean quickly and stays clean longer.

5. Unsticking gum: When gum doesn’t make it to the actual trash can, it can get stuck on shoes, or worse, your pants. If you need to banish hard, chewed-up gum that you accidentally sat in, then go ahead and spray it down with WD-40. That will help it come right off!

6. Removing crayon marks: Do you have kids/grands who love to take their crayons and scribble on walls and furniture? Don’t break your back trying to remove the marks! Instead, lightly spray them with WD-40 and they should rub right off.

7. Defrosting ice: If you’re gearing up for the winter season, spray your windows down with WD-40 and then wipe the excess away. Believe it or not, this will keep the ice from sticking to your windows and save you time getting out of the driveway in the morning!

8. Removing water stains: It’s so frustrating that the same shower you step into to get clean tends to collect a crazy amount of water stains. If you want to get rid of them fast, follow up your usual cleaning routine with a spritz of WD-40 and watch the water stains disappear.

9. Polishing scissors: If you use scissors in the kitchen or crafting regularly, then you know just how sticky they can get over time. If you want to keep that stickiness at bay, polish them regularly with a healthy dose of WD-40 and they’ll be just perfect.

10. Removing stickers and price tags: If you have ever tried to peel off a sticker on a window or a bumper sticker on your car, you know what a hassle it can be.  Just coat the sticker and gently peel it away!

11. Unsticking zippers: Is there anything more frustrating than having a zipper on your backpack or your favorite coat get totally and absolutely stuck in place? If you spray WD-40 on the zippers and gently work them back and forth, they’ll slide right back into place!

12. Removing tea and coffee stains: If you or a house guest have ever spilled a little coffee or tea on a table in your home, you know how hard it can be to ever get it out again. Thankfully, combining your regular cleaning routine with a squirt of WD-40 will banish it in no time.

13. Banishing tar stains: If your car gets covered in tar, then it’s definitely time to break out the WD-40. Just spray down the surfaces and even the most stubborn patches should melt away like hot butter!

14. Taking off rings: If you wear a ring regularly then you probably know what it’s like when it gets stuck on your finger. It happens to everyone at some time or another. Don’t panic! The easiest way to remove it is to cover your finger with WD-40 and then slide it off. It works like magic!

15. Remove lipstick: Lipstick is always a fun way to make your look for the day pop. Unfortunately, it’s less fun when it transfers onto other items of clothing and settles in to stain. Luckily for you, WD-40 as a pre-wash stain treatment will help remove that lipstick in no time flat.

16. Helps Open Rusty Locks: If you’ve got a rusty key or a keyhole that won’t cooperate, apply some WD 40 and you should be able to gain easy entry.

17. Extends the Life of Shower Heads: This is another little-known household use for WD-40. Shower heads have a tendency to break down over time, but applying WD-40 can extend their life span by years.

18. Removes Mildew From Refrigerator Gasket: Disgusting gunk builds up on your refrigerator gasket. WD-40 will remove this. Simply apply, let it sit for a few minutes, wipe off, and you’re done.

19. Filter Dust Cleans Off Better When Sprayed on Air Conditioning Filter: Spray a light coating of WD-40 on your AC filter before installing, and your filter becomes exponentially more effective.

Mexico Relations Hit New Boiling Point.

11/25/18

Mexico’s government is denying it struck a deal with President Trump, creating more tensions on the border. Fox News reports:

Mexico’s incoming government denied reports Saturday that it had struck a deal with the White House to keep asylum-seekers in the country while their claims move through U.S. immigration courts, just hours after President Trump again threatened to close the entire southern border if no deal could be reached between the two counties.

The development comes as Fox News has confirmed through an organizer for Pueblo Sin Fronteras, the group helping organize the leading Central American migrant caravan, that members of the caravan are expected to march peacefully to the point of entry at San Ysidro, Mexafornia., beginning on Sunday at 12 p.m. ET.

The marchers are expected to head out from the stadium, where many have been staying, and attempt to cross the border in a major test for both U.S. border authorities and Mexican officials. On Saturday, the first episode of caravan-related violence directed at U.S. authorities was reported by U.S. Border Patrol in Arizona, as a 31-year-old Honduran man who apparently split off from the caravan threw rocks at agents and a helicopter after setting a tree on fire.

The prospective deal between the U.S. and Mexico was seen as a way to dissuade thousands of Central American migrants from seeking asylum in the U.S., a process that can take years. The legal bar for claiming asylum is high and generally requires applicants to show a specific risk of persecution based on factors such as race, nationality, politics or religion.

President Trump is willing to play hardball and shut down the entire Mexican border. It’s about time that America stands up for itself!!! **** IT'S WAY PAST TIME!!! ****

Norris had also appeared on the campaign trail with Bush as he sought re-election in 1992.

The action star joined Bush at a Houston middle school to watch an exhibition by children who belonged to an anti-drug program that he sponsored.

Reporters asked Bush if he would 'drop-kick' Bill Clinton on Election Day. He winked and gave them an 'OK' sign.

Hatcher was a longtime friend of the Bush family and recently wrote a tribute recalling a sweet day she spent with the former president. 'I'm honored and grateful to have known him, Mrs Bush, and their wonderful family,' she wrote on Instagram.

Houston Texans player JJ Watt was seen arriving for the funeral with his girlfriend Kealia Ohai

Watt enjoyed a close friendship with Bush's wife Barbara, often making appearances together

'Even more so to have shared an hour this last summer, enjoying a beautiful day in Maine, a delicious clementine orange and friendly conversation.'

Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta, one of Bush's closest friends, was also in attendance on Thursday.

Bush was often present at Rockets games and even formed close friendships with players Yao Ming and Dikembe Mutumbo, who both came to the funeral.

'He gravitated toward Yao and then he developed that relationship with Dikembe because of similar ideas of service,' Rockets President Tad Brown told the Houston Chronicle.

'He was active in Yao's charity events (after) the earthquake in Shenzhen. He was extremely active with Dikembe setting up the hospital and all the fundraisers.'

Former California Gov Arnold Schwarzenegger, who enjoyed a close friendship with Bush for many years, arrived at the funeral with his girlfriend Heather Milligan
Chuck Norris, who appeared on the campaign trail with Bush as he sought re-election in 1992, also attended the service

Reba brought George W. Bush to tears when she sang The Lord's Prayer at the funeral

The performances at Bush's funeral were star-studded as well, with the former president requesting Reba McEntire sing at his service.

Reba followed fellow country music stars The Oak Ridge Boys, who were also handpicked by Bush for his funeral and performed an a cappella version of Amazing Grace

Around 1,200 guests filled St Martin's Episcopal Church for the service, where Bush's grandsons served as honorary pallbearers and his granddaughters led various readings.

Bush's casket then traveled 70 miles from Houston to Texas A&M, where a motorcade was waiting to take Bush to his presidential library at the university.

There, Bush was laid to rest at a private ceremony next to his wife Barbara, who died in April, and his daughter Robin, who died at age three in 1953.

Trump Selects Next Top Warfighter.

President Trump has selected his next top warfighter, Army Chief of Staff Mark Milley. The Washington Examiner reports:

President Trump is set to nominate Army Gen. Mark Milley to be the next chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, according to The New York Times.

Milley already sits on the Joint Chiefs as the Army chief of staff, and he would replace current chairman Gen. Joseph Dunford as the country’s top uniformed officer. Dunford’s term is set to expire next fall.

The president had teased the move on Friday morning, saying he would make an announcement about the Joint Chiefs when he attends this weekend’s Army-Navy football game.

“I have another one for tomorrow I will be announcing at the Army-Navy game. It will have to do with the Joint Chiefs of Staff and succession. I look forward to telling you, and I will see you later,” Trump said as he was leaving the White House for a trip to Missouri.

The selection of Milley could be interpreted as a strategic direction for President Trump, focusing more on land power than the other services. The Air Force in particular has not held the position since 2005, which could lead to resentment on the service’s part.

Army-Navy Game’s Stunning National Anthem Rendition Puts Every Kneeling NFL Player To Shame!

12/8/18 | US Benny Johnson | Columnist, Viral Politics

President Donald Trump and Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis were on hand to start off the annual Army vs. Navy game. Army and Navy met again Saturday afternoon in the neutral site of Philadelphia to play a football game between the two oldest branches of the armed forces.

This year marks the 119th time the two teams have met. A U.S. president is occasionally on hand for the national anthem and coin toss. President Trump took the field Saturday in Philadelphia before an enormous crowd in Lincoln Financial Field. The audience was composed of Midshipmen of the Navy, West Point cadets and other assembled active duty and military veterans.

The game also featured a prayer and tribute to the late Navy veteran, former President George H.W. Bush.

The crowd roared as Trump took the field.

Before the game, the student choirs of both military academies join together to sing the national anthem. You could hear a pin drop during the rendition.

Mission Complete’: Funeral Recalls George H.W. Bush’s Service to God, Family, Country.

12/5/18

A military honor guard carries the flag-draped casket containing the body of former President George H.W. Bush past his son, former President George W. Bush, left, during the state funeral Wednesday. Also pictured at right: President Donald Trump, first lady Melania Trump, and other former presidents and first ladies:

and Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter.

George H.W. Bush came close to dying young twice, first as a teen from a staph infection and then as a Navy fighter pilot in World War II.

But the nation’s 41st president managed to “die young as old as possible,” his son and the 43rd president, George W. Bush, said in a eulogy Wednesday, remarking on his father’s active final years.

The three other living former presidents, joined by President Donald Trump as well as other current and former world leaders, gathered at Washington National Cathedral for a state funeral service for Bush, who died late Friday at 94.

During his moving and sometimes humorous eulogy, the younger Bush spoke of the family’s loss of his sister Robin, who died at 3 years old, as well his mother, former first lady Barbara Bush, who died in April in the 73rd year of the couple’s marriage.

“Through our tears, let us know the blessings of knowing and loving you, a great and noble man, the best father a son or daughter could have,” Bush said, choking up at the end of his remarks. “Dad is hugging Robin, and holding Mom’s hand again.”

The congregation erupted in applause for the only time during the funeral service as Bush strode back to his seat, past his father’s flag-draped casket.

The younger Bush earlier recalled the well-reported final exchange between father and son, which took place over the phone.

“I said, ‘Dad, I love you and you’ve been a wonderful father.’ And the last words he would ever say on earth were ‘I love you, too.’”

The other Bush siblings—Jeb, Neil, Marvin, and Doro—listened to their brother from a front pew, where the 43rd president and his wife Laura also sat until he stood to deliver his eulogy.

“When the history books are written,” the son said, “they will say that George H.W. Bush was a great president of the United States, a diplomat of unmatched skill, a commander in chief of formidable accomplishment, and a gentleman who executed the duties of his office with dignity and honor!”

That life of accomplishment in part may have occurred because George H.W. Bush sought to prove himself worthy after he was spared from death during World War II and his crew mates weren’t, presidential historian and Bush biographer Jon Meacham said in his own eulogy.

“His life code, as he said, was: Tell the truth. Don’t blame people. Be strong. Do your best. Try hard. Forgive. Stay the course,” Meacham said. Buttressing the 41st president’s place in history, Meacham called him a “20th-century founding father” and compared him to the 16th president.

“Abraham Lincoln’s ‘better angels of our nature’ and George H.W. Bush’s ‘thousand points of light’ are companion verses in America’s national hymn,” he said. “For Lincoln and Bush both called on us to choose the right over the convenient, to hope rather than to fear, and to heed not our worst impulses but our best instincts.”

Bush, in a single term from 1989 until 1993, presided over the collapse of the Soviet Union, the end of the Cold War, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the reunification of Germany. He led a large, international coalition in Operation Desert Storm to push Iraq’s invading forces out of neighboring Kuwait.

Former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, a friend since their times as national leaders, said Bush’s coalition of nations would rank among the “most spectacular and successful” foreign policy achievements ever.

Mulroney also said:

"In 50 or 100 years from now, as historians review the accomplishments in the context of all who have served as president, I believe that it will be said that in the life of this country, the United States, which is in my judgment the greatest democratic republic that God has ever placed on the face of this earth, I believe it will be said that no occupant of the Oval Office was more courageous, more principled, and more honorable than George Herbert Walker Bush.

Former Sen. Alan Simpson, a Wyoming Republican, joked that in planning the funeral, Bush gave him just 10 minutes. After praising Bush’s character, including his modesty, Simpson added to much laughter: “Those that travel the high road of humility in Washington are not bothered by heavy traffic.”

The Rev. Russell Levenson Jr., rector of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Houston, said Bush lived the two great commandments of Jesus: to love God and love his neighbor.

“He loved the Episcopal Church. He so loved our great nation. He so loved you, his friends. He so loved every member of his family,” Levenson, Bush’s pastor for the past dozen years, said. “But he was so ready to go to heaven, and, heaven was so ready to receive him because he lived those two great commandments.”

The priest also referred to Bush’s 1988 campaign slogan about shaping a “kinder, gentler nation” and linked it to his Christian faith. “My hunch is that heaven, as perfect as it must be, just got a bit kinder and gentler, leaving behind that hole for me and you to fill. How? Preach Christ at all time. If necessary, use words,” Levenson said, adding, “So, Mr. President: Mission complete.”

The body of the 41st president will be flown back to Houston to lie in repose at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church before a private funeral service there Thursday. A train then will carry the casket to the George Bush Presidential Library at Texas A&M University for the former president’s burial alongside Barbara Bush and their daughter Robin.
