Fox News: What’s Really Happening On The Border.

It’s hard to get a clear view of what’s happening on the southern border because there is more commentary than facts at play. For example, many are saying that the Trump Administration is somehow maliciously separating families from their children when they cross. In fact, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirsten Nielsen refuted the idea that the government is separating people as a policy.
"This misreporting by Members, press & advocacy groups must stop. It is irresponsible and unproductive. As I have said many times before, if you are seeking asylum for your family, there is no reason to break the law and illegally cross between ports of entry. We do not have a policy of separating families at the border. Period."
Sec. Kirstjen Nielsen Like the old saying goes, “A lie will go round the world while truth is pulling its boots on.” Secretary Nielsen continued to explain that asylum seekers have a process they can go through, and do not need to cross illegally in order to gain entry into the United States.
The United States is a reasonable country, that has judges and resources dedicated to care for people who have legitimate reason. Those who are detained at the border are individuals who are breaking the law, and those laws have gotten tougher because so many have abused the generosity of the American people.
The Fake News is not mentioning the safety and security of our Country when talking about illegal immigration. Our immigration laws are the weakest and worst anywhere in the world, and the Dems will do anything not to change them & to obstruct-want open borders which means crime!-- Donald J. Trump
The current laws are flawed, as they make it harder for legitimate immigrants and asylum seekers, and still have not addressed the problems with illegal immigration. For this reason, President Trump and his administration are calling on Congress to Change Our Laws, to prevent unfortunate circumstances like the one we find ourselves in now.
Currently, because President Trump is considering an executive order to address the family separation issue, which would hopefully clear the air sufficiently to address the larger issue of border security and illegal immigration.

Trump Signs Executive Order Reversing Family Separation Policy.
6/20/18 Christian Britschgi
The administration says it will continue its "zero tolerance" approach to illegal immigration.
Today President Donald Trump signed an executive order that purports to end the separation of migrant families while maintaining his administration's "zero tolerance" approach to illegal border crossing.
"We want security and insist on security for our country," Trump told reporters at a White House briefing. "At the same time, we have compassion. We want to keep families together. It's very important. I'll be signing something in a little while that's going to do that."
Some 2,300 children have been separated from their parents and held in cage-like juvenile detention facilities in the last month, thanks to the Trump administration's policy of criminally prosecuting every adult detained on suspicion of illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.
Under today's executive order, those prosecutions will continue, but the defendants with children won't be automatically separated from them. The order says "it is also the policy of this Administration to maintain family unity, including by detaining alien families together where appropriate and consistent with law and available resources."
Trump's executive order maintains this argument while backtracking on the policy it was used to defend. "It is unfortunate that Congress's failure to act and court orders have put the Administration in the position of separating alien families to effectively enforce the law," says the order, which is titled "Affording Congress an Opportunity to Address Family Separation."
The court orders, to which Trump refers require the government to place immigrant children in federal custody with an adult guardian "without unnecessary delay" (typically within 20 days) and to keep children who are in federal custody in the "least restrictive conditions" possible.
Trump's executive order instructs Attorney General Jeff Sessions to request an amendment to these decisions that would allow the government to hold families in detention together while criminal charges against the parents run their course.
Two legislative proposals in the Senate would make any temporary suspension of family separations more permanent. Sen. dianne frankenstein (D-Calif.) has introduced a bill that would bar the separation of families unless there is clear evidence that children are being abused or trafficked.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is sponsoring similar legislation that would prohibit family separation, expand family detention centers, and provide more immigration judges to adjudicate asylum claims.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) has said legislation is unnecessary, since the president already has the authority to stop family separation.
Trump's executive order gives Nielsen the authority to construct new family detention centers as needed, and it instructs Sessions to prioritize the adjudication of immigration cases involving families. The order leaves open the possibility that some family separations could continue.
The government will NOT detain families together when there is "concern that detention of an alien child with the child's alien parent would pose a risk to the child's welfare" or when "available resources" do not allow it.
The three family detention centers the federal government currently maintains are reportedly near capacity.
Trump's order does not say whether families that have already been separated will be reunited!
President Trump Achieved Biggest Tax Cuts in American History!
2/6/18
“And just as I promised the American people from this podium 11 months ago, we enacted the biggest tax cuts and reforms in American history. Our massive tax cuts provide tremendous relief for the middle class and small business.” President Donald J. Trump
BIGGEST TAX CUTS AND REFORMS: Because of President Donald J. Trump, Americans will benefit from the biggest tax cuts and reforms in American history.
*President Trump’s tax cuts are the biggest gross tax cuts in American history, cutting over $5.5 trillion in taxes over ten years.
*The President’s tax law included substantial reforms to make taxes simpler and fairer, which helped offset the cost of the tax cuts and thereby limit the net tax cut to $1.5 trillion.
*President Trump cut the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 21 percent, the largest percentage point reduction of the top marginal rate in history.
*President Trump’s tax cuts include the biggest increase in the child tax credit in history.
*The Child Tax Credit was increased by $573.4 billion over ten years, larger than any previous change to credits specifically targeting families.
*President Trump’s tax cuts included some of the most substantial reforms to the tax code in American history.
*The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will help end the offshoring of corporate money by transitioning the country to a territorial system of corporate taxation and creating anti-abuse rules for multinationals that artificially shift profits offshore.
*The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act nearly doubles the standard deduction, to simplify tax filing.
*The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act limits itemized deductions, while maintaining the most popular deductions, such as the mortgage interest deduction and charitable giving deduction.
*The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act facilitates school choice by allowing families to use 529 college savings plans for elementary and secondary education expense and spend up to $10,000 annually on private school tuition and related expenses, in addition to the uses previously allowed.
*The first new community development tax incentive program enacted since the Clinton administration, providing an opportunity for mainstream private investors to support businesses and distressed communities with the creation of Opportunity Zones.
*The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act repeals the individual mandate, marking the single largest legislative blow to obumacare since the law was passed.
*This individual mandate is particularly painful for low and middle-income Americans: 79 percent of people who paid the penalty in 2016 had household income below $50,000.
*The tax law’s repeal of the individual mandate relieves Americans from the unprecedented assault on liberty, where the Federal Government fined Americans for not purchasing something.
*As a combination of tax cuts and tax reform, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act was therefore the biggest legislative action reforming our tax code in history.
AMERICAN COMPANIES ARE DELIVERING: Businesses throughout the country are responding to President Trump’s tax cuts by rewarding American workers.
*Since President Trump provided his historic tax cuts and reforms, more than 3.5 million American workers across more than 300 companies have received bonuses, raises, and increased. Many companies have also announced new investments and new hiring.
*Best Buy has announced it is giving a $1,000 bonus to full-time employees and a $500 bonus to part-time employees, in addition to investing $20 million to expand technology development centers across the United States.
*Quest Diagnostics is giving a bonus of up to $500 to nearly 40,000 employees and investing $75 million of its tax savings back into the company and employees.
*Discover announced it would raise its minimum wage to $15.25 an hour and had paid a $1,000 bonus to more than 15,000 non-executive employees.
*Hostess Brands is providing employees with a $750 cash bonus and $500 contribution to their 401(k) accounts, in addition to providing a year’s worth of free Hostess products.
*Cigna announced that it was increasing its minimum wage in the United States to $16 an hour and adding $30 million to its 401(k) program to match additional contributions, benefitting more than 30,000 employees.
*Lowe’s announced it was giving a bonus of up to $1,000 to employees and expanding its benefits package for full-time workers to include 10 weeks of maternity leave, two weeks of parental leave, and adoption assistance.
BUILDING ON OUR ECONOMIC MOMENTUM:
President Trump’s tax cuts are expanding on a strong economy that continues to benefit American workers.
*Average hourly wages increased by 2.9 percent last year, the largest increase in 8 years.
*200,000 jobs were added in January, while the unemployment rate remained at its lowest level in 17 years, 4.1%.
*Manufacturing expanded in January at near the fastest pace since 2004, according to the Institute for Supply Management data.
*Recent polling shows Americans are satisfied with the state of the U.S. economy, with the percentage of those polled with positive views of the economy at a 17-year high.
*Consumer optimism increased in January according to The Conference Board’s Consumer Confidence Survey.
*Consumers are confident that the strong pace of growth seen in late 2017 will continue in 2018.
*According to the UBS Investor Watch Quarterly, which surveys business owner sentiment, optimism has soared since the passage of tax reform.
*UBS found that positive economic outlook among business owners has grown by 18 percentage points between quarter four of 2017 and quarter one of 2018.
*UBS found that 79% of the businesses owners surveyed were satisfied with the tax bill and 72% believed it would boost the economy.
VIDEO: Trump Inspects Wall In Mexifornia.
3/15/18
San Diego, California 12:59 P.M.
THE PRESIDENT:
"Well, thank you very much, Secretary Nielsen; Acting Commissioner McAleenan; and the incredible Border Patrol agents, CBP officers who are doing an amazing job; ICE agents and officers, who I know so many of you.
Every day, criminals and tariffs try to infiltrate our country. You got a good glimpse of it before. We did it together, with the media, frankly. I didn’t know we were going to be doing that, but you got, really, maybe a far better glimpse than you’re going to get right now.
But the border wall is truly our first line of defense, and it’s probably, if you think about it, our first and last, other than the great ICE agents and other people — moving people out. It will save thousands and thousands of lives, save taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars by reducing crime, drug flow, welfare fraud, and burdens on schools and hospitals. The wall will save hundreds of billions of dollars — many, many times what it’s going to cost.
We must also close the deadly loopholes exploited by smugglers and traffickers. And we’re in that area. We’re in one of the many areas along the border where we have that problem. And we have to confront the dangerous sanctuary cities, which you’ve been all hearing so much about.
Mexifornia sanctuary policies put the entire nation at risk. They’re the best friend of the criminal. That’s what exactly is happening. The criminals take refuge in these sanctuary cities, and it’s very dangerous for our police and enforcement folks.
The smugglers, the traffickers, the gang members, they’re all taking refuge, and I think a lot of people in California understand that. A lot of people from a lot of other places understand it, and they don’t want sanctuary cities.
These policies release dangerous criminal offenders to prey on innocent people and nullify the federal law. They’re threatening the security and the safety of the people of our country. In the upcoming omnibus budget bill, Congress must fund the border wall and prohibit grants to sanctuary jurisdictions that threaten the security of our country and the people of our country. We must enforce our laws and protect our people!
And I have to say, law enforcement — ICE, Border Patrol — all of the people that have been so good to me for so long, they’re really doing a job!
But our job — and I think we all understand the job would be a lot easier if we weren’t protecting criminals in the sanctuary cities. We had a great talk about it inside.
Cooperation with Mexico is another crucial element of border security. DHS coordinates closely with the Mexican law enforcement, and we must absolutely build on that cooperation. Both countries recognize the need to stem the cross-border flow of illegal weapons, drugs, people, and cash.
I have a great relationship with the President of Mexico, a wonderful guy — Enrique. Terrific guy. We’re working — we’re trying to work things out. We’ll see whether or not it happens. I don’t know that it’s going to happen. He’s a very good negotiator. He loves the people of Mexico, and he’s working very hard. We’ll see what happens.
But we have to, obviously, have a couple of disagreements before we get there. You’ll see over the next month whether or not it takes place in this administration, meaning his administration. They have an election coming up. I hear they have some very good people running, and they have some that maybe aren’t so good. In any event, we’ll handle it.
I want to again thank everyone for being here today, and I want to again call on Congress to deliver a budget that protects our homeland and properly funds all of our law enforcement needs. I want to thank the Secretary. I want to thank ICE and the Border Patrol agents for their incredible work and their incredible bravery. I want to thank all of law enforcement on the border. It’s a dangerous job! It’s a tough job!
And if you didn’t have even these remnant walls — we call them remnant; they’ve been here for a long time — people don’t say that. But they’ve been here for a long time. If you didn’t have them, you would have crime in numbers that far surpass the numbers that you see today!!
We’ve cut down, and way down, on crossings — border crossings — because of the job that the Border Patrol does. And the ones that get through, we’ve gotten out. MS-13, we’re taking them out by the thousands.
But we don’t want them here in the first place. We don’t want them to come in!
So this was really a day where we look at the different prototypes of the wall. You’ve seen them. The media has seen them. And some work very well; some don’t work so well. When we build, we want to build the right thing.
Interestingly, the ones that work the best aren’t necessarily the most expensive — something I like about that ring.
So I want to thank everybody for being here. I want to thank, frankly, the media for being here. And we’ll let the people of our country know that we need safety, we need security at the border, and we’re getting it like we’ve never had it before. But we want to make it perfecto.
Thank you all very much. And thank you. Thank you, folks, very much. Thank you.
Secretary, you want to say something?
SECRETARY NIELSEN:
"Just quickly, just to thank the President so much for his continued leadership. As he says, CBP and ICE both put their lives on the line every day to protect our country. For that, I’m forever grateful, both as — to serve as Secretary, but also as an American. And we will build this wall. So thank you for coming out today. We’re building up a toolkit based on what we’ve learned from the research and development on the prototypes. And we look forward to breaking ground very soon, and securing our country. So thank you again to the President for his continued leadership."
THE PRESIDENT: "Thank you very much, everybody. Thank you.
Q Will you veto a bill with no punishment for sanctuary cities?
THE PRESIDENT:
"We’re going to see. We’re going to look at it. We’re looking at it very, very strongly. Sanctuary cities are protecting a horrible group of people, in many cases — criminals. And what happened, as an example, in Oakland was a disgrace to our nation. And we just can’t let that happen!"
Thank you very much.
