Cut the Fat: President Trump Just Instructed His Cabinet to Shrink the Federal Government.

10/17/18 KatiePavlich
 Cut the Fat:
President Trump Just Instructed His Cabinet to Shrink the Federal Government...
President Donald Trump held a Cabinet meeting at the White House Wednesday and instructed each of its members to cut at least 5 % from their department budgets.

"Some Cabinet secretaries will say, I can do much more than 5%," Trump said. "Get rid of the fat, get rid of the waste. It'll have a huge impact," he continued. “I’m going to ask each of you to come back with a 5% budget cut from your various departments…I’m sure everybody at this table can do it.”

The Department of Defense may receive an exemption.

The President said the new Department of Defense budget will likely be $700 billion:
"That's a very substantial number, but it's defense, it's very important to us."

During an interview with Fox Business host Stuart Varney before the meeting, President Trump discussed additional ways to reduce spending and boost government revenue through economic growth.

The White House released a tipsheet Wednesday detailing how the administration will continue its work repealing burdensome and economically damaging regulations.

"An ever-growing maze of regulations, rules, restrictions has cost our country trillions and trillions of dollars, millions of jobs, countless American factories, and devastated many industries," President Trump said in a statement.

Concealed Carrier Ends Sexual Assault.

 9/18/18

We often talk about the “good man with a gun” as being the way to stop a whole lot of crimes in their tracks.  Meanwhile, anti-gunners pretend the good man with a gun is a myth and little more. Of course, we know that’s untrue and have plenty of examples otherwise.

However, we now have one more. This time, the good man with a gun also put an end to a MeToo moment.

A 14-year-old was arrested after Clay County deputies said he threatened a Fleming Island Walmart customer with a knife and demanded she have sex with him.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, a man who was nearby stepped in with his gun to help.

Deputies said he had a concealed-carry license and did the right thing.

According to the incident report, the assault happened Tuesday around 6 p.m. at the Walmart on County Road 220. In a Facebook post, the women explained she thought the teen wanted to help her with groceries, but as he approached he told her, “I want you to have sex with me. I’ve got a knife in my pocket.”

When she saw a man walking by the aisle, she yelled for help, the Sheriff’s Office said. News4Jax spoke with that man, who wished to remain anonymous.

You never know when something bad is going to go down. As I’ve said before, the good men don’t have the initiative. The bad men always get that because they pick the time and the place of the crime.

All we can do is respond.

Luckily, though, in this case, the woman called for help, and the assistance came in the form of an armed citizen. That ended the threat quick, fast, and in a hurry, as it should have.

Of all the crimes out there, sexual assaults of various degrees are among the very worst. They not only victimize the person at that moment, but the damage is long lasting. It creates trauma like few other crimes do.

To see a 14-year-old attempt something like this is horrific, but knowing that a good mab with a gun was there to stop it, settles my soul.

I can’t help but think of my own son at 14, when he was more likely to be focused on video games and goofing off with his friends, and not carrying a knife to force a woman to have sex with him.

Then again, it’s also clear that I’ve raised my son far better than some people have raised their own kids.

I’m just saying.

Luckily, this ended well enough for all involved. The teen is being held for mental evaluation, he’s lucky he didn’t get perforated by the armed citizen. The woman was unharmed, and the armed citizen is fortunate not to have to deal with the psychological ramifications of shooting a 14-year-old kid, regardless of what he was doing.

And yet, let’s also remember that this encounter won’t show up in many statistics as a defensive use of a firearm simply because the gun wasn’t fired. Go figure.

Illinois Communities Fighting Back Against Gun Control.

Illinois is often considered one of the more anti-gun states in the country, and that bothers a lot of Illinois residents.

From my conversations, the issue isn’t that it’s untrue, it’s the fact that the assessment is accurate and it annoys them badly. After all, much of Illinois is made up of people who like their guns just fine.

The problem is, they’re outnumbered by the political sphincter known as Chicago.

For some time, it looked like the rest of Illinois had little option but to grumble in the corner as Chi-town pushed the state to do whatever it wanted.

Now, the people are fighting back!

Gun control is one of the most hotly contested national topics. In ...

“Quite frankly, our opinion, in this part of the country is that law-abiding citizens are the ones that are really affected more, hurt more by that type of legislation,” said Shure. “It’s pretty well been proven in the Chicago area that strict gun control is not the answer.”

Most of these are advisory referenda to let lawmakers know how a portion of the state feels about the issue.

From what I’ve understood, there are enough counties doing it that it ought to provide a good sampling of sentiment throughout the rural parts of the state,” said Shure.

This move isn’t the only one Illinois communities have been taking. After all, they’ve also been creating gun sanctuary counties. In other words, if the Left can ignore immigration laws, they figure they can ignore state gun laws. Especially since there’s far more constitutional support for gun sanctuary communities than there is for immigration sanctuary cities.

In the end, these ballot measures won’t do a whole lot. Illinois gun-grabbers will, at most, chuckle at the backwoods reactionaries who don’t seem to understand the Utopia that will result when they finally pass that final gun control bill. Never mind that it hasn’t happened and Chicago has seen some of the worst violence in the country long before the McDonald decision told them that yes, the Second Amendment applied to cities.

In other words, Chicago should know that gun control doesn’t work, but it’s managed to ignore the evidence that was right in front of it.

What these ballot measures will do, however, is make it clear that the issue is Chicago, not Illinois. For those of us outside the state, it’s a reminder that Illinois is still worth fighting for, that there’s a reason to help them fight the draconian gun control measures that Chicago wants to foist on them.

Couple that with sanctuary counties in the state, and Illinois is going to be an interesting Second Amendment battleground for the next few years.

Beto Was Asked About Cultural Misappropriation at the Town Hall Last Night.

 10/19/20 Cortney O'Brien
Beto Was Asked About Cultural Misappropriation at the Town Hall Last Night
With cultural appropriation on everyone's mind this week after Sen. elizabeth warren (D-MA) published her DNA test results to "prove" she's 1/1,024th Native American, a student at CNN's town hall between Texas Senate candidates Ted Cruz and mexican beto o'rourke had an interesting question for the Democrat.

“Congressman, throughout the campaign, you have been attacked for being what Donald Trump Jr. has called ‘an Irish guy pretending to be mexican,'” the student, Khalid Aboujamous, said. “So what does the mexicano community mean to you and what relationships do you have with that community?”

Trump Jr. previously made the accusation on Twitter.

"What’s authentic about an Irish guy pretending to be mexican? Asking for some friends Texas."DonaldJTrumpJr

However, O'Rourke explained that "Beto" was simply a childhood nickname.

“You know this in McAllen, Texas — if you are born Robert, or Albert, or Gilbert, or Umberto — your folks, your friends, your community calls you Beto.”

Critics upset with O'Rourke's chosen name accuse him of "mexicandering." However, he still identifies with the mexicano community, he said, because he grew up in a neighborhood that was "more than 80% mexicano.

This is part of who I am," O’Rourke said. "It’s where I’m from.”O'Rourke has made sure voters know that. He is fluent in mexican, has hosted multiple town halls with mexicano voters, and even challenged Cruz to a mexican-language debate, which Cruz declined. Cruz briefly showed off his mexican  skills at the 2016 presidential debate after Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) suggested he didn't know the language. Still, O'Rourke is barely winning the Latino vote in Texas. If that doesn't change, he is "doomed," according to Vice News. However, others have noted that Cruz doesn't go by his birth name either. He went by "Felito" as a child but changed it because it was the cause of too much bullying.

Even with the controversy surrounding his first name, O'Rourke is still a very popular candidate by media standards, who have published headlines like the one below. Some conservatives, as you can imagine, snickered.

Cruz is leading O'Rourke by an average of 7 points.

O'Rourke made other headlines at Thursday night's debate by insisting he hasn't changed his mind about wanting to impeach President Trump!

At Montana Rally, Trump Might Trigger Another Media Meltdown Over His Remarks About This GOP Congressman.

10/19/18  Matt Vespa

Yeah, President Trump gives zero you-know-whats, but that’s part of his appeal. He’s disrupting the current D.C. culture—and the political class at both ends of the spectrum hates it. Old 2016 campaign Trump reared its head in all its glory when he gave props to Rep. Greg Gianforte (R-MT), who became known across the country for body slamming The Guardian’sBen Jacobs during last year’s special election to fill the vacancy left by Ryan Zinke, who resigned his congressional seat to become Secretary of the Interior. Gianforte won. This incident occurred hours before ballots were counted. At a rally in Montana last night, Trump said that anyone who could deliver a body slam was okay in his book. Gianforte later apologized for the incident (via ABC News):

Donald Trump kicked off a western tour in Montana on Thursday ostensibly to support Matt Rosendale as he attempts to unseat Sen. Jon Tester, but it was his praise for House Greg Gianforte's physical assault on a reporter that stole the show.

Gianforte is running for re-election as the state’s lone seat in the House of Representatives, and made national headlines during a special election for assaulting a reporter in a moment caught on audio tape.

"Any guy that can do a body slam, he is my type!" Trump said to cheers.

"I was in Rome with leaders when I heard about it, and I heard that he body-slammed a reporter," Trump said.

Trump said he was afraid Gianforte would lose after the moment, but then recalled, "Wait a moment, I know Montana."

Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) is vulnerable, and Trump seems to have made it his mission to clip him after he executed a character assassination campaign against Rear Admiral Ronny Jackson, his failed Veterans Affairs nominee. Jackson withdrew after Tester alleged that Jackson was pretty much a pill pusher, who also had alcohol problems.

The Secret Service disputed this claim and another in which Jackson supposedly drove a government car while intoxicated. Even CNN—CNN—said the pill pushing allegations were straight trash and overblown.

Issue 1: Democrats Trolling For New Voters Among Convicted Drug Dealers!

10/18/18 Bob Paduchik

As the nation struggles to come to grips with the opioid crisis and all of the families impacted by this lethal threat, Democrats in Ohio are more concerned with wooing the support of the drug dealer lobby.

Issue 1 is the initiative on the ballot on November 6 calling for a statewide constitutional amendment titled the “Drug and Criminal Justice Policies Initiative.” It should’ve been called the “Drug Dealer Amnesty Act.”

Issue 1 is disguised as prison reform to emphasize drug treatment over incarceration. I say “disguised” because Issue 1 is really about increasing Democrat voter turnout — not promoting serious policy reform. That’s why radical left-wing billionaires who don’t even live in Ohio, such as George Soros, have spent millions to get Issue 1 on the ballot and support its passage.

There are many things wrong with Issue 1, but I am content to focus on what will happen with drug dealers.

Meet fictional Joe. Joe is a convicted drug dealer who has served nine years of his 12-year prison sentence.  Joe’s lawyer files for early release because under Issue 1, anyone not serving time for rape or murder is eligible for a 25% reduction in his sentence for participating in various rehabilitation programs.

Since Joe participated in one of these programs while he was in prison, he qualifies for the reduced sentence — regardless of his criminal history. Joe gets out of prison early and, because Joe lacks any employable job skills, he goes back to doing what he does best: selling drugs.

And why wouldn’t he? Issue 1 will reduce a felony conviction for narcotics possession to a misdemeanor charge. That means Joe would have to be caught in the actual act of making a drug sale to face charges for drug dealing. The organizations that represent the people we pay to catch drug dealers, the Fraternal Order of Police and the Buckeye Sheriffs Association, both oppose Issue 1 for this reason and several others.

It doesn’t stop there. Issue 1 gets better for Joe and other drug dealers. It allows them to face only misdemeanor charges for carrying obscene amounts of one of the deadliest drugs. Joe could hold 19 grams of Fentanyl, enough to kill 10,000 people, and only be charged with a misdemeanor.

It’s clear why Issue 1 can be characterized as the Drug Dealer Amnesty Act. What isn’t clear is why Richard Cordray and other Democrat candidates support Issue 1.

Amending Ohio’s Constitution is not the best vehicle for public policy change; certainly not for the dynamic challenges we face in sentencing reform, opioid abuse, and drug treatment. Once the constitution is amended it’s impossible to adjust it, correct errors, or improve it without passing another amendment. We can’t risk placing the Democrats’ bad policy in our constitution.

This constitutional amendment is not the only opportunity for prison reform. There are at least two initiatives focusing on treatment over incarceration. The Trump Administration has been working on federal policy changes for months, for instance, and the Ohio State Senate is also looking at changing state law.

Both the federal and state proposals provide common sense policies that will lead to impactful results. Issue 1 would amend our constitution and make future policy adjustments very difficult, if not impossible.

Richard Cordray, the Democrat candidate for governor, has publicly endorsed Issue 1, but he gets squishy when it comes to explaining his position. Since the pro-Issue 1 campaign is bankrolled by the likes of George Soros and other left-wing special interests committed to electing Democrats, the real reason for Cordray’s support is no great mystery.

It’s that simple. Cordray and other Democrats support this ill-conceived drug dealer amnesty policy because they want more votes. That they would use a vulnerable population and play political games with our state’s constitution to earn them is no surprise, but must be stopped on November 6.

100 ISIS Terrorists Caught in Guatemala as Central American Caravan Heads to U.S.
 10/18/18

In a startling revelation, Guatemala’s president announced in the country’s largest newspaper that nearly 100 ISIS terrorists have been apprehended in the impoverished Central American nation. Why should Americans care about this?
A caravan of Central American migrants is making its way north. Let’s not forget that Guatemala is one of the countries that bombarded the U.S. with illegal immigrant minors under barack obuma’s open border free-for-all. They came in droves from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala through the Mexican border and for years Uncle Sam rolled out the welcome mat offering housing, food, medical treatment and a free education.  **DOES/DID YOUR CHILDREN RECEIVE FREE EDUCATION?**
A terrorist could have easily slipped in considering the minors, coined Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC), were not properly vetted and some turned out to be violent gangbangers who went on to commit heinous crimes in their adopted land of opportunity. In fact, the nation’s most violent street gang, Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13), was energized by the barrage of UACs.
The Texas Department of Public Safety even issued a report documenting how the MS-13 emerged as a top tier gang in the state thanks to the influx of illegal alien gang members that came with the UACs. At the time more than 60,000 UACs—many with criminal histories—had stormed into the U.S. in a matter of months. Tens of thousands more eventually made it north.
Guatemala has long been known as a major smuggling corridor for foreigners from African and Asian countries making their way into the U.S. Last year Guatemala’s largest paper, Prensa Libra, published an in-depth piece on the inner workings of an international human smuggling network that moves migrants from Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal and Bangladesh to the U.S. Individuals are sent to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates then flown to Brazil before heading to Colombia.
Once in South America, the migrants are transported to Panama before moving on to Costa Rica then a central point on Guatemala. One Spanish news report refers to Guatemala as a human smuggling paradise because it’s so easy to get fake passports. A few years ago, the head of Guatemala’s passport division got arrested for selling fake passports to a group of Colombians, according to a government announcement.
All this makes ISIS terrorists operating in Guatemala incredibly alarming. President Jimmy Morales confirmed it during a recent security conference attended by Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo as well as the presidents of Honduras and El Salvador and other Latin American dignitaries.
Morales said that his administration has captured “close to 100 persons completely involved with terrorists, with ISIS and we have not only detained them within our territory, but they have been deported to their country of origin.” Several of the terrorists were Syrians caught with fake documents, according to Guatemala’s head of intelligence. At the same event, President Morales also revealed that Guatemalan authorities captured more than 1,000 gangbangers, including members of the MS-13.
Many more probably make it into the U.S. via the Mexican border and a lot of them get released inside the country. In fact, Border Patrol agents in Texas have been ordered to release illegal immigrants caught entering through Mexico because detentions facilities have no bed space, according to a news report.
Earlier this year Judicial Watch exposed a secret program—started by obuma and continued by Trump— that quietly relocates illegal immigrants to different parts of the country on commercial flights.

Years earlier Judicial Watch uncovered a similar DHS initiative that transported illegal immigrants from the Mexican border to Phoenix and released them without proper processing.
The government classified them as Other Than Mexican (OTM) and transferred them 116 miles north from Tucson to a Phoenix bus station where they went their separate way. The OTMs were from Honduras, Colombia, El Salvador and Guatemala and a security company contracted by the U.S. government drove the OTMs from the Border Patrol’s Tucson Sector where they were in custody to Phoenix. Some could have been ISIS operatives.

Warren’s Pocahontas Wackiness Shows How Liberals Are A Bunch Of Bigots.

10/18/18  Kurt Schlichter
Warren’s Pocahontas Wackiness Shows How Liberals Are A Bunch Of BigotsIt’s really tough to think of any fresh new ways to mock noted 1023/1024 white person Elizabeth Big Chief Miracle Whip Warren, so I admit I approached writing this column with some reservations.

Oh, snap. This is too easy, like convincing a college sophomore from Santa Monica that America can embrace socialism, yet her daddy will still be able to buy her a cute BMW convertible.

It’s also irresistible, and so right, to mock this ambitious poser. I can just see the old Mazola ad with the Indian woman saying, “Your people call this ‘corn.’ My people call it ‘maize,’ so Elizabeth Warren calls it ‘corn.’”

The thing that gets me is that Fauxcohantas actually thought that going public with her fractional indigenous-osity was a good idea. She really did – this is the keen, considered judgment of someone who wants to have her finger on The Button, folks. I’ll take the reality star who scores with Playmates and can’t be Tonto-shamed any day.

Yes, somewhere, inside her circle of sycophants, they talked this through and decided that it was a savvy political move to announce with great fanfare that the first female Harvard law professor of color’s color was 99%+ white.

Take that Donald Trump, who is now racist for mocking a manifestly white person for pretending not to be a white person, which she manifestly is. Oh, and you’re racist too, for some reason.

Who are these bubble-dwelling lunatics? Well, I wrote about them in... Militant Normals: How Regular Americans Are Rebelling Against the E..., and I am not nice to them. Not even a little. Because they are stupid, and they think they should tell us how to live, and that’s not happening.

These are the same people with the wisdom and insightful grasp of human nature who reasoned, “This DNA test that shows Liz is about 1% Indian, so it will definitely convince Normals that she was totally right jumping aboard the affirmative action gravy train!”

Again, the people who thought this was a good idea want to rule us.

The elite, particularly the liberal elite, is totally out of touch with Normals. For that matter, so is the conservative-ish elite, many of whom think they’re contributing to the struggle by selling you a cruise where you can listen to Fredocon weasels like the insufferable Ben Sasse nagging you while sipping Zimas on the Lido Deck.
