MITT ROMNEY ENDORSES ROLAND STRATEN FOR CONGRESS

.

MONTCLAIR – Former Presidential candidate and Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney has announced his endorsement of Roland Straten, Republican candidate for Congress from the 8th Congressional District.

.

Straten, an engineer and Paterson businessman for over 40 years, believes in “smaller, smarter government.” For business, that means a climate of lower taxes and fewer regulations so that businesses can succeed. “Successful businesses make profits. Profits are what enable businesses to expand. Expansion means that jobs are created. When businesses can succeed, everyone can succeed,” Straten said.

“Roland understands that America’s recovery from this prolonged recession depends on an economic environment that encourages businesses to grow and employers to hire,” Romney said. “Government must foster these conditions, not impose regulatory and tax barriers and uncertainties that only discourage growth and make job creation impossible.”

.

Before entering politics, Romney enjoyed a successful career helping businesses grow and improve their operations. He came to national attention for his success in turning around the financially troubled 2002 Winter Olympics. Romney is the founder of Bain Capital, one of the nation’s most successful venture capital and investment companies.

.

“I’m very pleased that Mitt Romney has endorsed my candidacy,” Straten said. “The people of the 8th District know that the Pascrell-Obama-Pelosi fiscal policies have failed miserably. I will work with the new Congress to turn things around and get our economy growing again.”
