ALERT::::URGENT::::::: HEALTH CARE BILL PASSED by SENATE FINANCE COMMITTEE! at 2:18a.m.

ALERT:

At 3 am on Oct 2, 2009 the Senate Finance Committee passed the bill out of Committee. Our attempts to get everyone to phone the Repub Senators & tell them to walk out failed. Not enough people called.

The bill goes now to the Senate Floor for debate.

The Committee lowered the penalties for not buying Health Insurance and set them so they will not begin to look "large" until 2014.

They are very close to having the votes. Debate in the Senate will likely occur Monday & likely will last only ONE day.

And then the bill will go to the House.

We must, this weekend, phone people in the States of Senators who are possibly on the fence. we must get the people in those states to phone their Senators NOW & leave voice mails opposing this bill.
They must also FAX & email their Senators.

Because the Committee knew the mandate was a sticking point they reduced the penalties for not purchasing Ins to only $200 per person per year (until 2014).
