Molon, you have just listed the main reasons why we need to immediately get charged up and demand our Legislatures promote the exact same wording Amendment to repeal the 14th, 16th, and 17th Amendments to take away that power they usurped from us allowing them to do what you said. that power belongs to the people and the states where the people of the various States grant their legislatures strictly enumerated powers such as you have cited complete with the proper State citizens oversight to control how they are used

I guess Obama has fired the opening shot in the confiscation issue with this travesty of justice.

Time to support the repeal of the 14th, 16th and 17th amendments with the one 20 word Amendment proposal "

  1. The fourteenth, the sixteenth, and the seventeenth articles of amendment to the Constitution of the United States are hereby repealed. " proposed by the www.ArticleVprojecttorestoreliberty.com  If we could convince our State Legislatures to agree to adopt the wording adopt this simple Amendment and certify they accept/ratify it it before sending it to Congress with a petition for an Article V Amendment Proposal convention or some call it a Convention of States. We could take back about 85% of the power that has been systematically stolen from the States and People since the end of the Civil War. the same thing would happen to those Amendments that happened to the repeal of the 18th Amendment that repealed Prohibition.

“It doesn’t require expropriation or confiscation of private property or business to impose socialism on a people. What does it mean whether you hold the deed or the title to your business or property if the government holds the power of life and death over that business or property? Such machinery already exists. The government can find some charge to bring against any concern it chooses to prosecute. Every businessman has his own tale of harassment. Somewhere a perversion has taken place. Our natural, inalienable rights are now considered to be a dispensation of government, and freedom has never been so fragile, so close to slipping from our grasp as it is at this moment.”
– President Ronald Reagan –
