Court rules: Churches can be singled out for exclusion

Here’s the latest development in – the up and down, lose, win, lose, and continue to fight case of – Bronx Household of Faith v. Board of Education of the City of New York. This is the case that attorneys with the Alliance Defense Fund have been fighting since 1995 – the year after this unique legal ministry was founded to defend and preserve your religious liberty.

For 16 years, the New York City Department of Education has spent tremendous sums of taxpayer dollars opposing the Bronx Household of Faith, a New York inner-city church, (and dozens of other churches!) from renting empty space for its Sunday worship services at its schools – even though it allows all other community groups to rent space for their meetings.

Despite several U.S. Supreme Court rulings that say the government must allow religious groups to have the same access to government buildings that other groups have, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit just decreed that New York City public schools can single out worship services for exclusion when deciding who can and cannot rent school facilities for weekend meetings.

ADF attorneys will appeal the 2nd Circuit’s latest decision – as the final outcome of this case could have wide-ranging ramifications for thousands of churches that meet in public schools across America and the 60-100 churches in New York City that would be displaced by this court ruling.

It's a tragedy that the Democratic Socialists have infiltrated the Courts and made them immune to the checks and balances the Founders incorporated into our form of government.  We only have ourselves to blame for what we are experiencing since we went to sleep and allowed it to happen.
