HELP!!! MY HOUSE IS ON FIRE!

Here is an analogy of how the "stimulus package" will work...

You come home to find your house (the economy) is burning down. You call the fire deptartment (the government) to put out the fire, and they show up with a CUP of water (money).

You ask, "Where is the water to put out this blazing fire?!?!"

They reply, "Well, you see... we had to give some of that water to the city so the police officers could drive clean cars. The mayor needed some for his swimming pool. Your neighbors had to have some to water their lawn. The governor wanted some put back into the lake so the fish population doesn't decline and your state Senator needed some of that water to clean the crap off his shoes. And this is all that's left."

This is your government's idea of "helping" . But, we are supposed to be happy they showed up at all.
