Citizens Dedicated To Preserving Our Constitutional Republic
Supporters of Roland Straten, Candidate for Congress in the 8th district of New Jersey are planning a "Let the Truth be Heard Rally” on the steps of the Montclair Town Hall at 7PM on Tuesday, August 24.
.
This rally is in response to the refusal of the Town to provide equal access and time to Straten after Pascrell held a campaign event inside the Town Hall on August 9. All who are interested in hearing the truth about the healthcare plan are invited to come to hear the experts supporters have lined up. "This rally is not about politics; its about letting people hear the truth," Straten said.

BACKGROUND:
.
On August 9, 2010, Bill Pascrell held a campaign event masquerading as a senior forum in both the Wayne and Montclair Municipal buildings. These events were publicized by a massive mailing of a four-color brochure at taxpayer expense to voters in the district.
.
Roland Straten requested equal time from both towns to present the other side of the issue. He was turned down by Montclair and received no response from Wayne.
.
Prior to the start of the Montclair forum, Straten was passing out information from government reports that counter Pascrell's claims about the healthcare bill and its repercussions on senior citizens. Ann Mega, a Pascrell staffer, pushed Straten out of the room and told him he could not pass out flyers in the meeting room. A Montclair Times Reporter, Terrence McDonald, witnessed this action.
.
About ten minutes later Mark Kalinowski, a tea party activist, entered the room and began to hand out his flyer. Mega rushed forward and pushed Kalinowski toward the door. Kalinowski stood his ground exclaiming, "Don't Push Me" causing a minor kerfuffle. Straten stood up and said "Bill, please tell your staffers to obey the first amendment." After that things calmed down.
.
Paul Brubaker, Pascrell's press secretary, launched a personal attack against Straten by telling Nic Corbett, a Star Ledger reporter "The congressman was there for his constituents, even those who might be critical of him. The other candidate was there for himself." The Ledger refused to print Straten's letter to the editor in response to this personal attack. Straten stated in his letter that he was there, "to make our country better."
.
Because of the efforts to repress free speech and the one-sided nature of the actions of the Towns and Ledger, people are outraged. They plan to protest these actions and tell the truth on the front steps of the:
