Citizens Dedicated To Preserving Our Constitutional Republic
Looking ahead and moving forward
I don’t make New Year’s resolutions. I have goals that go as far as my lifetime goes, and I don’t need to reset them every year. Or every two months.
Recently our federal government took two months to pass tax cut legislation for 60 days, and called the result a tax break. The money – from our taxes – that they wasted coming to that conclusion will never be recovered, and it was an exercise in futility. The American public lost because of our ever-increasing debt; and as the debt grows, the more short-term decisions will need to be made to adjust to it. Sometime in the near future, Congress may be making decisions over just a week’s worth of benefits – because their decision-making ability will be hobbled by the debt to the point that it will be making the decisions for them. At that point, the tail will be wagging the dog.
It would be best if we tried not to follow their example. Choosing longterm goals for our community that will benefit the community as well as generations to come is a responsibility of the current leadership. We as citizens have our own opportunities to seize in this coming year. No one is stopping anyone from starting a business. No one is preventing anyone from investing. It’s time to look at the opportunities that have presented themselves elsewhere, and bring them here.
This New Year has a positive outlook, with proven technology to take advantage of and new business partners who are looking to Bartow County as their solution. For our longterm goals, let’s focus on ways our community can become more self-sufficient. Let’s make our community attractive to those new business partners. Their investment is welcome here. Business moves faster than government. Bartow County has a nice warm climate for investments right now. And when we become economically attractive to business, then we as a community will benefit from it – with new jobs, new homes, and competitive growth.
There are advantages to be taken in chaos, and in the year that’s ending we certainly are in chaos.
We can set a better example in the community with a fast-paced business environment to create longterm goals, and seize the opportunity. Our current government had tried spending their way into success, only to discover that the success they’ve achieved is success in debt.
Now is the opportunity to seize advantages in the chaos, and earn it. In the next year let’s make it our goal to seize the day – every day.
