ODD AND SUSPICIOUS OCCURRENCE - CAUTION!

This morning something rather odd and suspicious is transpiring in my little section of the world.....

I belong to quite a few conservative web sites......this morning each Ning site I have gone to thus far says I don't have the correct password to sign in. This has NEVER happened to me before..... (5 sites already)

I am having to reset my password for each Ning site I visit. No problems with the non-Ning sites I've visited this morning, just Ning ones.

Apparently, it seems to me Ning software engineers have begun opening my accounts (and other people's ??) and changing my password so they can read my private messages. That would account for why every Ning site I've opened this morning I've had to reset my password, because the one I've always used without any problem is no longer the password for my account. "Someone" changed my password during the night.

This is not the first problem I have had regarding a Ning site - on another Ning site a high ranking site member admitted to me that they used "trigger words" from members' PM's to target and read their members' private messages "for the protection of the site", "to prevent people from using the site to plan illegal activities".....Then, I was able to get an e-mail from this person confirming this practice in writing, which I still have - also have a copy in a safe place....and another person has a copy of it.
This occurred after all my personal information, including where I lived, was released onto the net along with any controversial topic I had commented on and I was inquiring into the matter. I did consult an attorney regarding internet privacy laws, but it is a complicated subject since different states have different regulations regarding this subject.

I know of other instances where people on Ning sites have complained about their personal information being "hacked into" and released; also, knew of a Ning site member whose identity was basically stolen and being used to post comments that the member alleged he did not make - was such a problem he finally left the site. Same site where I had my problem.

BEWARE OF PRIVATE MESSAGES ON NING - IF THIS HAPPENED TO ME, IT CAN AND PROBABLY WILL HAPPEN TO YOU IF YOU ATTRACT THEIR ATTENTION FOR SOME REASON.

GOOD PART IS: I MUST BE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT TO HAVE THEM INVADING MY PRIVACY LIKE THIS! SCARED OF A MIDDLE-AGED DISABLED NURSE, ARE THEY? ALMOST FUNNY, IF NOT SO DANGEROUS TO US ALL!
